I suggest working on your naval skills, get some astronomer tools and a good supply chain that you can set up going across to the West. Ego is having the same, if not more of a difficulty trying to get across the Atlantic because of the lack of naval knowledge and I lost 40% of my fleet trying to get to Greenland blind.

I know it's a cr*p spawn, but it's symbolic for me. Part of my family is from St. Petersburg/Leningrad (they were born in the USSR). I already have a plan in place for Moscow, and I'm planning on claiming Novgorod as well.

But yeah, I just plan to make a St. Petersburg a "large outpost" as the moment. Something big enough that I can fall back on, if Moscow fails, but also small enough that not many people will want it.
