Trade with Norsca, buy scouts to find Bog Iron, trade with Olog and help him progress smithing so I can start with iron and invest in steel research.

Depends how much skill he has compared to the Divine Warlord.

Ah, right, let me see.

At an average rate of five to six knots per hour, the fleet should reach about half-way down the Anatolian Coast in a few days- April 26th ~ 28th. That will put them around Izmir, a good point to establish an outpost. Assume stopovers for a week at each outpost point for hunting/water resupply/some construction. Then it will be about another week and a half to Rhodes, the next point on their Explorator's objectives. So, they'll be putting in to port around May 20th in Rhodes. From there another week to the southern coast of Anatolia, harbor near Antalya, the first week of June. Cyprus towards the end of June, Lebanon in mid-July, Gaza in early August due to having to sail against the prevailing winds for a bit, and finally the Nile River Delta towards the middle/end of August.

From there the trip back will be shorter, but might be postponed all the way through the wet season due to a lack of familiarity with the waters/the storms of the Eastern Med. The Explorator will likely try to head back up to Antalya by the end of September, overwintering at her protected anchorage, then setting off to return to Thrace near the end of March of 75 AG.

Tribal politics? How exactly do you mean?

Would he have experience with a greatsword? Jeb was a medieval rennactor, he would be experience in fighting against 2-handed weapons and would have the advantage in skill I would believe.

If you gave him a sword and shield, your king would be surprised at how he can use it so proficient despite been using the spear for a decade.

Like tribe vs tribe warfare. Tribe A wants you to attack Tribe B cuz Tribe B broke sacred law or something like that. Btw thx, I really needed that.

Naw, not unless those interests were very heavily aligned. If Tribe A is a trusted ally of the Imperium, they might help defend it against Tribe B, but that's about it. Too much room for error otherwise.

That's just a rough timeline, but hopefully it will be helpful. It doesn't reckon for encounters that might cause delays, but it is a start.

Clearly you both fatally wound each other in a battle for the ages.

Then the Imperium annexes Ego, as the true representatives of the Son who triumphed over the Moon.

I was thinking maybe Tribe A won't give food to expedition because their food stores may be full, but Tribe B moved into their hunting grounds and started chasing out the Tribe A hunters. Thus until they find a new hunting ground or Tribe B is chased out they can't trade food.

Ah, I see. That would be the case, yes. The Explorator is empowered by his writ to take all necessary actions for the good of the expedition, up to and including military deployment.

Messenger relays, semaphore, and the occasional spot of trained birds delivering communications in places where islands or bodies of water inhibit the former. Soon the Hegemon hopes to introduce the telegraph, but that will take some more infrastructure time to implement in any meaningful fashion.

Just like anyone else does in antiquity :P Hire on a local from up the road that speaks your language and the language of the area you are visiting, repeat as you move to new areas, do a lot of pantomime and fervently hope nobody accidentally signs that they want to do unnatural things to the local chief's mother.

But Cypress is isolated... so regardless I'm thinking of using my language powers.
