The year is 2017, the month of December, a cold Thursday on the 14th, the world, is one.United by the efforts of The Order, our benevolent benefactors.
These are the lies told by our oppressors, The Order. The Order is anything but benevolent, as the thousands of murdered innocents will tell us. The Order thrives on the ignorance of its citizens as it slowly takes over their lives and murders any in their way, including Superhumans, their only crime is being different.
Not even regular humans are safe. If they think you're even a little supportive of your fellow man they will come at night and take you and your family away. Never to be seen again.
But even their best efforts cannot silence the cry for freedom. As I speak thousands of brave men and women, Superhuman and Human, are fighting the Order at every turn.
They can commit genocide, burn our homes, erase us from history and work us to death in their camps. But freedom will never be beaten, even if against a superior foe.

Welcome to Of Men and Titans, a reboot of the first arc of the original series, this RP will focus on the Order and the plight of the Superhumans they prosecute. For those that don’t know, The Order is committing genocide against Superhumans, under the guise that they have wronged them and are bringing the death of humanity ever closer the longer they live.
You will play as a superhuman (or a normal human if you desire) during this era of oppression and hopeless dreams, trying to live in a world that hates you.
Now, the story so far.




August 13th 2006-Order declares England,Wales,Scotland and Ireland to be cleansed of superhumans.

September 23rd 2008-The Mutant Self-Defense Force is crushed after twenty years of fighting the Order.

December 12th 2008-During the March of Humanity, a holiday celebrating Humanity's achievements and victory over Mutantkind, a new rebellion is founded, the Guardians of Humanity.

November 2009-The Guardians of Humanity launch their first attack, raiding Order bases around the Middle East. They manage to kill 560 Peacekeepers and destroy 100 AAV-14’s and AT-5’s before the raids are declared a success.

November 19th 2009-The Order launches Operation Trident in Africa, hoping to capture the resources of the continent from the warlords and tribes.

January 2010-The Order offensive stalls after securing much of Northern Africa. It is rumored that The Guardians of Humanity are helping the warlords and tribes defend against the Order forces, who despite several important victories, are still steadily losing ground.

March 14th 2011-Mutants affiliated to the Guardians of Humanity slaughter a village near Conakry, causing local forces to desert the united African army and help the Order secure the coastline down to Nigeria along with lynching several Guardian agents.

June 20th 2013-The Guardians launch a daring raid on Kelly City (New York City), destroying or capturing Order equipment and freeing mutants and supporters from their cells.

October 5th 2015-Order purges elements in North America and Europe who are suspected of supporting mutants hide or giving information on war plans for Africa, which is still barely making any progress.

February 29th 2016-Guardians raid the Order Research Bureau in L’Enfant (Washington D.C.). Through suffering heavy casualties they manage to steal various experimental equipment such as the MSS-01 Combat Suit. Order begins to purge suspected collaborators.

December 10th 2017-Our story begins.

Mann’s Harbor


Mann’s Harbor is a small town in the former state of North Carolina, surrounded by a green sea of trees and blue ocean, Mann’s Harbor primary industry is fishing, with hunting being a favored pastime of it’s residents. Some of the residents work in the neighboring city of Franklin City (Elizabeth City) and cheer on the Franklin City Braves in the large football stadiums.
Mann’s Harbor is also peaceful, with only a small detachment of Peacekeepers enforcing the law in the town along with a easily bribed mayor, Mann’s Harbor is a safehouse for Superhumans on the run and rebels. Chance of player death is low here and supplies is plentiful

Charles Mann was the founder of Mann’s Harbor, purging the area of the oppressive Superhumans The statue can be found in the center of the town,across the Town Hall. Local rumor suggests that a Guardian safehouse is hidden beneath it, through the Peacekeepers have found nothing.

Peacekeeping Station No.220 is the headquarters of the Peacekeepers in Mann’s Harbor, who are lead by Captain Keaton. The Peacekeepers are lazy compared to ones of Franklin City and are the butt of many jokes among the townsfolk.
Named after Charles Mann wife, Cheryl Mann, the port has the occasional freighter come in to bring in commerce but mostly houses fishing ships.


The closest city from Mann Harbor. With a population of only 18,683, Franklin isn't a maverick, but is a sizable city with a friendly community and plenty of opportunities to build a life for one's self. It is well protected, with a Peacekeeper garrison of around 1,000 not counting the nearby Fort Anderson, named after the founder of the Order military. The only location of note to someone that isn't local is the stadium of the Franklin Braves, a baseball team and the Order Youth Brigade HQ that is located in the center of town and also acts as a center of the cities government.
Franklin City is a dangerous place to be a mutant or anti-Order. Character death is likely, but starting here could breed interesting plot devices before you inevitably have to leave town for your safety.



The Three Pieces


The Three Pieces are the heads of The Order. They have complete control over the politics and programs of areas under Order control, making sure that opposition is swiftly crushed and enforcing their goals.

The King

Tamsin is the Head Chairmen of the Order making him the official head of the Order government. ‘Elected’ on 2015, Tamsin simply disappears from public eye once he loses his elections, running the show as his puppet loses public favor, then wins the reelection. A sociopath, Tamsin is a master of manipulation and espionage willing to do anything to eradicate Superhumans and achieve “The Final Goal”.

Kees is the Vice Chairmen of The Order and also it’s Minister of Education. To the public, Kees is a likable Dutchman who tells jokes and willing to help those in need, in reality, Kees uses his power and position to change history to more Pro-Order texts and anecdotes along with the burning of any “Pro-Mutant” texts and art.

Nelson is the Supreme Commander of Order Forces, making him the leader of all military operations and police actions. Through not seen by the public much, Nelson conducts and cover ups the mutant genocide, along with false flag operations.

Only In Death Does Our Duty End

Pacifiers are the elite of the Order Military, trained in the arts of combat and quelling rebellion Pacifiers are seen when it is clear the Peacekeepers cannot handle a rebellion or military operation. They are also the honor guard of the Three Pieces, guarding them from all threats and are indoctrinated to believe their every word.
Due to this indoctrination, Pacifiers fight to the last man, trying to bring down as many enemies as they can before they fall. It is not unknown for one Pacifier to hold off entire groups of rebels before going down.
It is rumored that Pacifiers are trained from childbirth to be the warriors of the Order, through the Order has repeatedly stated that they are picked from the greatest soldiers from the Peacekeepers.
Special Abilities:
Hardness: Pacifiers can take a seemingly inhumane amount of punishment and still be able to fight.
Marksmanship: Pacifiers are extremely accurate with their weapons.
Cool Head: Pacifiers rarely panic even when faced with the impossible.
Loyalty: Pacifiers are loyal to the Order only the Order.
Imposing: Even the most ant hardened of veterans feel fear once a squad of Pacifiers are spotted, meaning the Order really wants them dead.

Protecting Unity

Peacekeepers are the standard soldiers of the Order, also acting as its police force. Peacekeepers are on par with US Army soldiers today, but a powerful or smart superhuman can easily defeat them.

Special Abilities.
Power Dampening Rounds: Power Dampening Rounds are the Peacekeepers best weapon against Superhumans, if hit, a Superhuman begin to lose their powers.

The Armored Beast

The AAV-4 is the standard ‘tank’ of the Order, armed with a 105mm Cannon, the AAV-4 is meant for infantry support due to the lack of enemy armor the Order faces. Of course, the AAV-4 is also well armored, able to take several hits from an RPG and still be combat worthy.

Special Abilities
Armor: The AAV-4 is immune to small arms fire and even superhuman powers.
Self-Destruct: If the crew of the AAV-4 is killed, the AAV-4’s computers begin a self-destruct sequence to prevent capture.
The AT-5 is the standard transport of the Order along with providing fire support with the 25mm chaingun mounted on its nose.
Self-Destruct: If the crew is killed, the AT-5’s computer will activate the self-destruct sequence.

Humanities Shepard

The Bastion is a 200 foot long starship and the first military starship in the history of Earth. Only one exists and is used to show the Orders strength, vast pool of knowledge and devotion to protecting both Earth and expanding humanity across the stars-without mutantkind. The Bastion has two missions-Protection of the Odyssey and destroying rebels from the safety of space either with it's 80cm railguns and inter-planetary missiles, or with it's contingent of Pacifiers. The Bastion holds two companies of Pacifiers and shuttles to transport them. If these measures fail, the Bastion is equipped with two nuclear missiles.
The Bastion has a crew of 100.

Humanities New Rome

The Odyssey is a large space station that houses important Order personnel and acts as the command center to all Order forces. It also supplies the Lunar Colony with supplies, troops and (This is a rumor) slave.The Odyssey is a point of pride for the Order. On the day of it's launch (May 9th, 2007) every TV station, from sports channels to children shows, broadcast it. The specifications of the station and were they even got the know-how and technology to build such an advanced station and so quickly is a well guarded secret.

A mixture of both. It looks Sci-Fi, but when you get into it, it has a more magical feel to some things.

Species: Mutant/superhuman not exactly sure of correct name
Appearance: Caucasian. Has brown eyes and sharp facial features. Always wears a full face mask of polished black glass but ears and short brown hair are visible. 5' 10" tall, and very thin. Wears black clothing with a 'utility belt' and 9mm pistol holsters on each thigh. Wears black combat boots and stolen body armor (bullets still deadly obviously to keep RP interesting ;) ). Wears a black leather trenchcoat. (For lurking purposes.)
Side [Faction - Optional]: Lone Wolf, but seeks to destroy the order and save other supers. So I guess part of the Guardians (if that's okay)
Personality: Calculating and logical. Represses all humor and distractions and focuses on goal. Doesn't show any emotions, and is willing to kill without hesitation or remorse.
Powers: Hyper Intelligence and super senses. Can perform incredibly complex mathematical equations and can break down the world into a series of mathematical expressions. Has nearly impossible accuracy with both thrown projectiles and guns. Can visualize and calculate many possible outcomes of the butterfly effect on a grand scale. For instance, he could throw quarter and cause something like a car accident.
Origin of Powers [Optional]:
Drawbacks: Powers have to be activated. When being used, his eyes glow a bright amber/orange. If powers are used for too long, it causes extreme migraines and cranial bleeding. But if he doesn't deactivate the powers he will black out and suffer seizures because his brain cannot comprehend the vast knowledge without the powers.
Bio: Had an ordinary childhood and stood by as the Order came into power. Accidentally discovered powers when he had a vision of a future event while high on meth which awakened the dormant powers. He woke up a few days later and realized the magnitude of what happened. Began erasing himself from public records to keep himself and his family safe. Is now living off the radar attempting to dismantle the Order.

Appearance: messy black hair and blue eyes. Roughly six feet tall and thin.
Side [Faction - Optional]: Wants to fight Order (so Guardians I guess)
Personality: Happy and upbeat on the outside, but fears his powers. Hates the Order and often times let's his anger control him. Uses humor to hide his pain.
Powers: Draws power from an alternate dimension. It is a primordial plane of existence comprised mostly of energy and BEC (Bose-Einstein condensate: a state of matter were atoms stop behaving as individual particles.) Prophet derived his name from his ability to foresee possible glimpses of the future. He can also channel the energy from the dimension, focusing it into a blast of energy and BEC. He can also focus the power into a protective suit (he can 'wear' BEC as a dark blue suit and a phantom like cloak. Like Spawn, but blue). He has increased physical strength and extreme speed ( if anyone has watched the movie Spectre on Netflix, like that). He can phase out of our reality and into the one he harnesses power from effectively allowing him to teleport via opening these breaches. The alt. reality is filled monsters and creatures that prophet can control with Extreme focus. He can open a breach in reality and bring the creature into the real world, however they are fragile in our world, as they are energy constructs.
Origin of Powers [Optional]: I would assume that governments attempted to create their own Mutant soldiers to use as weapons. Nate's mother was a subject in one of these experiments, but no powers manifesed in his mother who was unknowingly pregnant at the time. Nate was born, but he quickly manifested powers. He accidentally opened a breach that released some creatures that destroyed his childhood home and killed his parents.
Drawbacks: BEC cannot pass through ceramics which is a nearly perfect armor against his powers. Likewise, Iron can disrupt BEC forms and cause them to 'flicker' in and out of reality as long as contact persists.
Bio: At the age of four, Nate's powers killed his parents which thrust him into the care of the Order. They quickly realized he was a super human, but his prophetic powers kept him alive and out of their clutches.

RP Sample: Prophet raced down the alley way, glancing desperately over his shoulder. There wasn't time to manifest his armor. The Peace keepers were right on his tail. "Damn!" He shouted as he saw the brick wall rushing to embrace him with captivity. He didn't break stride. He reached out his hand and the blue and black energy engulfed his hand like Sapphire fire. Reality it's self rippled and tore. He ran into the breach and traded the stuffy brick-red ally way for a cold alien landscape. The entire world was shrouded in blue tinted midnight. He ran a few feet past black, gnarled, leafless trees. The shimmering vortex appeared just ahead of him once again, like a vortex of glass through which one could glimpse the other side. He ran through the breach and he exited on the other side of the wall that threatened him with death. His racing footfalls echoed off the concrete floor and walls of the warehouse. He ran past rows and rows of wooden crates; suddenly his vision flashed blue and his legs subconsciously gave out. He fell and rolled in the ground as peacekeeper rounds whizzed over his head. From his position on the ground he fired a blast of void energy that knocked the enemy soldier off his feet. He scrambled up to find the peacekeepers had surrounded him. They all trained their sights on his head. He slowly lifted his hands and stood up straight.

They began to close in. Prophet gave a yell and channeled the void energy over his form. The bullets that reached him fell harmless at his feet upon contacting the energy. The armor glowed white with power before exploding outward, throwing all the soldiers back several feet. As the wall of energy grew out ward, three golems manifested as it passed where they were standing in the void. After they were pulled into the world they went on a rampage, slamming the diminutive soldiers around like ragdolls. Nate staggered to the exit, exhausted by the effort of the blast and summoning the three, eight-foot tall, ethereal golems. He slunk through a gate and disappeared into a crowd of pedestrians...

Appearance:Mr Crawford is a unusually tall man and has a rather frail body. When observing his face you will notice that he has a long face with sunken eyes which often have dark rings beneath them. A large dark beard obscures the lower half of his face.Atop his head lies an unruly mess of raven black hair

Personality:Mr Crawford is known to be a cold, arrogant man who reveres the order to the highest extent stating that the mutants are degenerates and a mockery of all which humanity stands for. He has also been regarded as quite intelligent famed in the peacekeeping force for his ability to detect even the most subtle and stealthy of mutants.

Drawbacks:For all his skill and experience he is after all just a Human a particularly frail and weak one at that so he would be rather ineffective in a fight
Bio:Mr Crawford was born in Surry, England in the year 1983 to the to a family of three, his farther Alexander Crawford, his mother Jane Morewood and his brother Oliver Crawford. The two parents in this family were both to the public and their family good loyal citizens of the order always attending community events and always joining in with the crowd to scream abuse at the mutants however unbeknownst to both the public and even the two Crawford children both parents were mutants, the farther had the ability to convince people to do anything (to a reasonable extent) and the mother had the ability to move objects with only her mind.

Their life continued on as normal until the order began the great purges of '93 in which the order's propaganda machine was working at full capacity and mutants all across Britain were being rounded up, forced to confess to terrible deeds and then we're exacuted. Since George was nine he had been suspicious of his parents but did not have the will to report them to the peacekeeping force however when the great purges began and he saw truly what abominations mutants were he marched down by himself to the nearest peacekeeper station and reported both of his parents to the order. Both parents were quickly taken into custody and were checked for mutant genetics. The results were positive.

After the arrest and summary execution of George's parents both Crawford brothers were sent to separate orphanage's because Oliver Crawford appeared to be showing quite a bit of aggression towards his brother almost as if he did not appreciate George removing the fowl mutants from both their lives. From their onwards George dedicated himself to becoming a peacekeeper knowing that it was his purpose to hunt down and exterminate mutants and upon graduation George immediately signed up to the peacekeeping force where he quickly rose up through the ranks for his almost uncanny ability to hunt down mutants. George was later transferred to America for his homeland of Britain had been cleansed and he is now looking to free America from the fowl influence of mutant kind.

    Greg is basically a dumb kid. He wants to help people, though he really has no idea what he’s doing. Until recently he dreamed of becoming Pacifier, the ultimate protectors of humanity (or at least that’s what the propaganda says). Now he’s unsure of his path.
Powers:
  • Astral Projection - Greg is able to leave his body behind and walk (or fly through) the world as a unbound soul. His projection can be visible or invisible (or translucent), solid or incorporeal. He can speak and be heard, even when invisible or incorporeal.
  • Mind Walking - Greg can step into the mind of another person and view thoughts, memories and emotions. With more practice (or completely on accident) he can interact with them as well, changing the very mindscape he is walking.
  • Possession - Greg can step into the body of another person, inhabiting it and controlling its every action. The degree of control depends on the strength of will of the possessee and Greg’s control of himself at that moment.
  • Telekinesis - Greg can move objects without even touching them as a solidified projection. Solids are the easiest to move, with the mass of the solid ultimately determining the amount of effort he needs to exert. Fluids are far more difficult to control, and the less viscous a fluid is the more difficult it is to control, to the point that (for the moment at least) it is firmly beyond him.
Drawbacks:
  • Greenhorn - Greg has literally just discovered his abilities as result of his injury. His control is less than impressive, and he has no previous training that would aid him with the concentration he needs to perform many of the feets. As a teenager, his emotions still exert great control over him and can interrupt the use of his powers.
  • Comatose - Greg’s body is comatose, completely unable to defend itself, and he’s not certain if he can survive as the projection if his body dies.
  • Electromagnetic Interference - Even when invisible, the projection creates an electromagnetic field. While just wandering around, it would at most deflect a nearby compass or gauss a nearby CRT, but the more power he uses, the stronger the EMF grows, potentially interrupting the operation of electrical equipment.
  • No GPS in the Mindscape - A mindscape is often full of powerful thoughts, memories and emotions. Without sufficient self discipline, Greg can be drawn into them and get lost in the mindscape he is walking though, even to the point of believing himself to actually be in the memory he is experiencing.
Bio:
    From an early age, Greg had no shortage of heroes to look to. His older brother, Wesley, was a soccer star in high school. His mother, Melissa, is one of the lead physicians of the local clinic. His father, Jeffrey, owns a small fleet of fishing vessels ported in Mann’s Harbor. And his uncle, Garrick, was a pacifier until his assassination by the Mutant Self-Defense Force in 2007.

    By the time Greg was in middle school, Wesley had already left home. This, combined with the closeness of age with his older and younger sisters, led to the development of a middle-child complex. His older sister, Catherine, had started making honor roll while his younger sister, Ashley, continued to be doted on. Hoping to make his own mark, Greg joined the school soccer team. Here he did not make a splash. Though the middle school team tried to play everyone equally, it remained that he was far from the best player on the team. He worked hard at it, but lacked the same natural talent of his older brother.

    As he made his way into high school, he would often be known as ‘Catherine’s brother’ or, to those who cared more for sports, ‘Wesley’s brother’, much to his chagrin. Two years later, with Catherine now in a pre-med program at a university in Franklin and Ashley having joined him in highschool, hopes for being his own person had their final death when, as his younger sister took a main role in that years major student drama production. Now ‘Ashley’s older brother’, Greg had resigned himself to being otherwise relatively unknown in high school.

    Without hope of something more, the start of senior year hasn’t been much of a disappointment. Sure, in most of the school he is more known by his siblings than his own accomplishments. Still, he had his friends, decent grades and a good, though not stellar, soccer career, and that was enough.

    Then a deer crossed the path of his car.

    Greg swerved his car to avoid the animal, plummeting his car into a river. At first he thought he had been thrown from the car, leaving him confused but thankful that he was still whole. That lasted until he got a good look at the car and realized he was still in the driver seat. When the paramedics arrived almost an hour and a half later, he hid in bushes and watched as they evacuated him into an ambulance, carrying his unconscious body to the county hospital in Franklin.

    Unsure of what else to do, he began trying to walk back to town. After being passed by three drivers ignoring his attempt to hitch, he tried to step in front of the next car and force them to stop, and then an already weird day got weirder. The car went straight through him.

    All of that happened on December 8th. Greg has been in the the forest near Mann’s Harbor for the past two days trying to figure things out. In that time, he’s managed to figure out how to briefly become corporeal, lift small objects and thinks (though he’s not sure) that he can become visible. He hasn’t gotten tired, or hungry, or thirsty. The biggest thing he’s learned so far? He is way out of his depth. Still not sure what to do though, he has started off by heading home and seeing what he can learn about his family since his crash.
