The Republic of China
Addressed to: No. 10 Downing Street, London, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
In the War Against Japanese Aggression in the Far East and China, Chinese and British soldiers fought shoulder to shoulder to defend Asia from Japanese terror. They fought valiantly. Many of these Chinese soldiers returned home to fight for another cause. The Unity of China. Fighting warlords and communist forces to restore one China. Now that one United Republic has been restored, China is ready to stand shoulder to shoulder with Great Britain again, against Communist expansionism. China remains and is proud to be an ally of Great Britain. When we meet in Tehran in 1943 we mapped out the future without German or Japanese aggression and expansionism. This is now a reality, and for China to fight alongside Britain, we require a truly united and firm nation. Many Chinese people in Hong Kong are yearning for a return to the Greater Chinese Motherland. We are aware of the 99 Year Lease to Great Britain, however this was signed by the Qing Dynasty, which no longer exists. And after Chinese brotherhood with Britain for a decade of war, we believe that for the unity and strength of China, for further cooperation. Hong Kong should return to the Chinese Motherland. We pledge to allow the continued operation of British businesses in Hong Kong, and business privileges would exist for an negotiated period of time. We believe a possible handover should be before 1955, but after 1950. We believe negotiations should start immediately, if the Government of the United Kingdom is open to such a discussion. We hope for a speedy reply.

The Republic of China
Addressed to: Headquarters of the Portuguese Government, Lisbon, Republic of Portugal
After years of a divided, powerless, weak, and easily dominated China. China has righted itself, after defeating the Japanese expansionist menace and defeating the Communist foe attempting to deceive China. China is united and powerful again. Portugal is considered a key partner of the Republic of China in standing up to the communist menace which threatens to deceive and then conquer the entire world. In order for a unified and stronger to China to stand up to this menace, this threat against the civilization of the whole world, all Chinese citizens must return to the Motherland. For a unified, stronger China. We request that Macau should be transferred to the Republic's administration. If the Portuguese government is open to this, we believe negotiations should begin immediately. We believe that the transfer should occur within the next decade, we promise that Portuguese businesses would operate within certain privileges for a certain amount of time, to be negotiated. Until an even playing field could be established for businesses. We hope for a speedy reply.

OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT CORRESPONDENCE - UNION OF SOVIET SOCIALIST REPUBLICS
Addressed to the President of China, Chaing Kai-Shek, Beijing
From the office of the Premier of the Soviet Union, Joseph Stalin
I write to you on behalf of the government of my country. I will disregard the usual pleasantries, and go right to the heart of the matter. Our post war relations have no doubt chilled relations between our two countries. I belive it is in both our countries best interest to look to a future of improving relations, rather than go down a hostile path. The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics shall formally extend the hand of friendship to your government should you follow certain requests. In return, we are prepared to turn over prisoners of war captured by Communist forces during the civil war in your country. All that we ask is that you legalize Socialist parties within the Republic of China, and that you turn over Communist prisoners of war. I would also like to inform you that it is possible for formal embassies and diplomatic channels to be opened between our two countries with the establishment of embassies in Moscow and Beijing.
Best Regards, Joseph Stalin

Australian Republic
Sent for: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 522 Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Road, Beijing, Republic of China
Greetings,
The nation of Australia has decided to abandon our state of neutrality, and as such, we desire strong allies. We would like to extend a hand of peace and friendship, for an alliance to defend the Pacific and Sea of Subs from foreign intervention. We have a history of cooperation. During WWII, Australian troops fought bravely and proudly side by side with Chinese soldiers to fend off the Japanese scourge. The Communists were no match for our combined strength, from the Republic of China's army, to the Australian Navy. Please consider this offer not as a grab of power, but as a grab at the lifeline that only the Republic of China may provide.

KMT Landslide, Wins 1,872 of 2,000 Seats!
Article by Chang Li Laoxi
When the 500 Million Chinese people went to sleep last night, so many hoped for a Kuomintang government that would uphold the Three Principles of the People, the lead the people in constructing a new more powerful China. Well, in the morning when every radio channel, even the soap opera channels, announced the results of the legislative elections. The Legislative Yuan, or the Delegation of 2,000 as it is also known held elections yesterday, everywhere across the country, in the far reaches of Xinjiang, to the urban centers of Nanjing, Shanghai, and Beijing, to the monasteries of Lhasa, and the rice patties of Guangxi people were off from work, and went to polling stations, each one flying the nation flag to vote. The elections were the first fair and free elections in the united Republic of China, free of any foreign influence, of internal thuggery. The choice of the people of China. As they voted many noticed something different, the photo of our Founding Father Sun Yat Sen was surrounded by two national flags in most polling stations. Not one Kuomintang Party Flag and a National Flag, this is because the KMT Provisional Government of several decades is over. We are not one political party, we are a democratic nation, that is what it symbolized. The people overwhelmingly chose the KMT to run the government. Not just the radio, but in the city centers as portrayed in the headline, the results were announced. The results are as follows (party, party leader, seats):
Kuomintang (Chiang Kai-Shek): 1,872
Youth (Tseng Ch'i): 79
Democratic Socialist Party of China (Hsu Fu-Lin): 49
The results were met by jubilant crowds flooding the streets, singing, flag waving, and speeches by local KMT politicians across the country. The National Revolutionary Army celebrated across the country, cheering and flag-waving. The NRA is in the process of assimilating from the Kuomintang Army to the Army of all China, and is thrilled in that role of continuous defense of the Chinese nation and people. Chiang Kai-Shek waved to crowds from the Tiananmen Square rostrum, a massive flag-waving crowd had emerged, very excited for the future of China. The Kuomintang won with a diverse voting coalition, from rice farmers to the urban middle class, support for the KMT was vast and consistent throughout the country, this allowed them to gain a supermajority in the Legislative Yuan. Pledging the uphold the Three Principles of the People, and the ideology of Sun Yat Sen was very much supported by the populace. The Youth party, a nationalist movement, came in 2nd, with what it considered a good showing. The Democratic Socialists almost gained 50 seats, their election goal. We live in exciting times.

Chinese soldiers fought in the trenches with their trusted British and American brothers. We are eternally grateful for the alliance we forged against fascist aggression. That war forged a stronger and more united China through fire, and this united Republic seeks to stand up against the new aggressive force seeking to topple democracy and enforce dictatorship. The communist regimes, notably the USSR seek to expand their ideology on the free peoples of America and Europe. While the USSR has some elements of democracy, it is only the friends of Stalin who can participate. We must stand resolute and vigilant against this threat and in order to coordinate our efforts, it is requested that President Truman and Prime Minister Atlee come to Beijing, so we may discuss this threat, ways to defend ourselves, further cooperation and improving relations, and development. Chinese and Soviet soldiers both shed blood against the Japanese aggressor, and we are grateful for the assistance provided in the liberation of the Chinese people. We are open to the establish of formal diplomatic ties, an embassy, and a diplomatic channel. A good way to start this would be through a prisoner exchange, and we agree this should happen. Any NRA prisoners should be returned immediately to the Chinese Motherland, and any Communist prisoners we have of USSR origin will at once be returned to their motherland. Families will be united and we will have a good way of establishing diplomatic ties. However, we will not be altering any Chinese domestic policy, as we are not asking you to do so. This message is received by the Chinese Government with great applause, it is indeed necessary to defend the Pacific and specifically the South Pacific from foreign aggression and expansionism. China is proud to have fought valiantly with Australia for years against Japanese aggression and now the new source of foreign aggression comes from the North, threatening all the free peoples of the world, especially that of Australia and China. The Communist ideology demands expansion against sovereign nations, and that is something that the republic of China will not permit. The USSR and its allies and satellite states pose a grave threat. Communism was very close to claiming China and it was the blood and valor of there men an women of the National Revolutionary Army that defeated the communist armies supported by other communist movements across the globe, seeking to destabilize the legitimate government of China. But communism is still finding a grip in Asia. It is our belief that the new French government will establish Communist regimes in Indochina. With these threats facing our two nations, in fact every Commonwealth and Asian nation faces this threat, of communist expansionism crossing our borders. We must support each other in this, and against ay new imperialist waves in Asia. We take your offer of friendship, and we believe we should support each other to defend our sovereignty, and stand resolute against Communist aggression. We will immediately begin to establish stronger diplomatic ties, and China is already working with the United States and the United Kingdom to deter communist aggression, and we believe that China and Australia should also work together to defend each other.

To, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hu Shih 522 Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Road, Beijing, ROC
Greetings, Minister. I am writing in response to your previous message concerning the establishment of formal diplomatic ties. A prisoner exchange is a reasonable proposal for a start. As I write to you, a train carrying 63 prisoners of war captured in the USSR from NRA forces that trespassed into the Soviet Union at the Manchurian border is bound for Beijing. I would request that you do the same, and order the dispatch of a train carrying any captured Soviet volunteer forces that were fighting in China. Your countries stubbornness regarding domestic policy is understandable, although I'd ask you why your nation does not let Communist parties exist if your country does not fear them.

Greetings, Comrade Thorez. I have already approved that weapons transaction that you requested. Payment can be negotiated with the Soviet Ambassador in Paris, who I have sent instructions too. I would like to offer the French Government the chance to join the Warsaw Pact with the Soviet Union and her allies in Eastern Europe. At the next congress of Warsaw Pact Countries in Berlin the French Nation is invited to send a delegation. I would also like to offer the French Government the chance to send scientists in the rocketry field to the USSR, where we are testing some of the most advanced rockets in the world. Thank you for your best wishes in the upcoming election. I believe my party shall prevail again, but I worry about the Trotskyite Parties that may gain in the People's Assembly. Sometimes I wonder if I should have exiled Trotsky for destroying the Ukrainian Free Territory against Lenin's wishes. As it is, I am very busy right now planning for the election and supervising other programs.

President of the Republic of China Chiang Kai-Shek
Vice President of the Republic of China Li Zongren
Chiang to be President, Li to be Vice President!
Article by Lao Hsieh Qi
The Legislative Yuan met in it's first session to elect the President and Vice President of China. It took a whole hour for the 2,000 delegates to get in, take their seats, and prepare themselves. The Speaker of the Legislative Yuan Mo Teh-hui, Former Civil Governor of Fengtian called the Delegation to order, hitting his gavel twice. After some procedural steps, the real action began. The first fair Presidential election, the last one in 1923 was corrupted by the vile imperialist warlords of the ZhilI Clique, who attempted to bribe the entire Chamber! This was truly history. The nominees for President were read aloud. Chiang Kai-Shek of the Kuomintang, Ju Zheng (The Head of our Judicial System) of the Kuomintang, and Tseng Ch'i of the Youth. The delegates were given 10 minutes to talk, deliberate, or think. After 10 minutes of discussion, the Speaker returned the Chamber to order. The delegates would raise a placard with the national flag on it when their desired candidate name was called. The Speaker called out the names and after 15 minutes of counting the placards, he declared the results.
Chiang Kai-Shek-Kuomintang: 1,711 (WINNER)
Ju Zheng-Kuomintang: 210
Tseng Ch'i-Youth: 79
The placards were raised in a red, white, and blue wave for Generalissimo Chiang Kai-Shek. Elected by the Legislative Yuan as President of the Republic of China and Generalissimo of the Armed Forces. The speaker declared Chiang Kai-Shek the winner, and congratulated the other candidates. Now onto the Vice Presidential Election, the field opened up with six candidates. After several rounds of voting, the choice was narrowed to two. Li Zongren and Sun Fo. The delegates prepared to vote, the same procedure was followed, and the results were announced by the Speaker.
Li Zongren-Kuomintang: 1,112 (WINNER)
Sun Fo-Kuomintang: 888
It was very close, extremely close. The results could were in fact recounted, which each member being forced to vote the same way, the result was confirmed. Li Zongren was announced as Vice President. The inaugural ceremony was held in the afternoon, in which Chiang Kai-Shek pledged to defend and faithfully serve the people of China, the Republic of China, the constitution, and the Three Principles of the People. Li Zongren pledged to do the same as well, shown below. Chiang and Li then turned to a picture of our Founding Father Sun-Yat-Sen flanked by two national flags, and saluted while the national anthem played. Chiang speaking in a plain outfit and sash, and Li Zongren in his military uniform. Crowds took the streets, thousands of people in every city and many rural towns, singing and cheering, once the results were announced in their area.

We are prepared to recognize the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, provided the French government continues this effort of Democratic Self-Determination and supports the independent choice of the Asian people without foreign influence and does not support communist movements in stable, sovereign nations such as the Republic of China. It is with great appreciation of China's commitment to the Sino-American friendship that I gladly accept the offer to meet in Beijing. I hope that the friendship between our great nations will continue to grow, especially as a result of this particular state visit, and that our countries shall forge a close alliance that will last for many years to come. I am confident in China's ability to provide adequate security, but will nonetheless be bringing four USSS guards with me, and proper accommodations should be made for them.
In addition to China, I have decided to go on a wider east Asian tour, visiting Japan and American-occupied Korea as well, to encourage American-Korean-Japanese cooperation and mutual respect and to build the economies, societies, and militaries of Japan and Korea to their full potential as allies of both the United States and the Republic of China, and I trust that China will be a reliable partner of America in shaping a unified policy in regards to these prospective states.

I am glad that our weapon transaction was approved this fast. The price of your weapons had been payed to Your ambassador in full. I believe you follow recent discussions in the UN regarding Germany. With them in mind it might be imprudent to plan meeting of allies of Soviet Union in a newly formed country that instists upon it's neutrality. I'm suggesting location be changed for now, and when you inform me of new location I will send president of France, Leon Blum to represent us at that summit. We will also be sending 10 million franks worth of medical supplies as part of our post-war rebuilding and reconstruction programme. We are thankfull that you have supported our decolonization efforts by recongizing current democratic vietnamese government. To prove that we are sending 2 million franks worth of aid in medical supplies, as well as 10 of our medicine proffesionals recently graduated from Ecole de France to aid you in post-war reconstruction. However we have one request: i heard that some people in China are imprisoned as communists. We would like their release to the newly formed Democratic Republic of Vietnam. We have trust in the French government that France or the DRV has no hostile intentions towards the Republic of China, and we graciously accept the aide you offer. However, you approach the numerous CCP military commanders and political leaders who committed numerous wartime atrocities to their own people when in hiding in Shaanxi while the Kuomintang resisted Japan. They also harbor a deep hatred for the democratically elected government of the Kuomintang, and seek an immediate return to revolutionary activity against the government. Handing them over to a bordering communist state which may have no ill will towards the Republic of China, is nevertheless extremely concerning and not something the Republic of China is ready to do without our concerns addressed.

Hello again Mr. Thorez. Thank you for the prompt payment to our ambassador in France. The money was wired to the Moscow Central Bank this morning. Your gift of ten million Francs worth of medical equipment to help the people of my country has been noted. Medical supplies are in short supply in the USSR at this time, as we are still recovering from the post-war rebuilding efforts in the Ukrainian SSR and Belorussian SSR.
Personally, I do not buy the Western promises of a Neutral Germany. If that German state is under the Capitalistic system that infects the WEst like a cancer, I can see no true state of neutrality being possible. With recent memories regarding the actions of a united, militarized, German state I do not believe reunification is currently possible. On another note, some of the German scientists and my countries own scientists working on our Rocketry program have informed me that they believe they can break the American altitude record set earlier this year. The Soviet Union will accept Journalists from anywhere in the world to the test, including France and the Capitalist States. I am also extending the offer to France of a possible partnership in Rocketry.

From the office of the Premier of the Soviet Union, Joseph Stalin
I will skip the usual greetings, as this is a matter of life and death. On a routine patrol over the Soviet Border with China in Manchuria, one of our aircraft spotted a Chinese fortification in the mountains. Normally this would not be a problem, but artillery guns were sighted capable of striking Soviet border positions. As this letter is delivered to you via telegram, there is a flight of Soviet Bombers and their escort craft bound for the offending fort. You no doubt know exactly which fort I am writing about. If, by the time the aircraft arrive at the fortress they cannot see artillery guns being withdrawn deeper into China, they are authorized to use appropriate force to make sure there is no threat the USSR and her allies. Do not take this as a declaration of war. The USSR has no wish for war of any sort, but will not tolerate any threats to our border security like this. You and I both know that neither of our countries want a war. So ask your superiors and Generals to make the right decision.

We are not moving the guns away from the fort, but we are no longer pointing them at the Red Army border positions. This guns are not a threat to the Soviet Union, but rather serve as a deterrent and serve as a weapon of self-defense. These weapons will never be used unless the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics attacks the Republic of China or one of our valued allies. As we are all allies, South Africa would like to request to purchase ships, to better help defend our oath of defending African waterways from Communist aggression. As such, we would like to purchase 7 Baltimore-class heavy cruisers. It it does not bother or hinder you, may you please modify them with anti-missile systems? We would also like to purchase 10 Swiftsure-class light cruisers. Thank you.

Corrupt Officials Arrested
Article by Lao Hsieh Qi
Several Local Officials of Hubei Province were arrested by the National Police Agency. 12 Officials for Hubei Province were arrested, some taken from their homes, and some on the street for Graft and Bribery. Hubei Police Spokesman said, "we'd be investigating the matter for quite some time when we felt the evidence was more than circumstantial we consulted a judge, and we were given the approval to arrest them. Their trial shall begin soon." The corrupt and selfish officials had been using their offices to accumulate personal wealth, and had hidden questionable and illegal financial activities through illegal budgeting maneuvers. Vice President Li Zongren decisively condemned the treachery saying, "these activities are disgusting and represent true selfishness and greed, we will be working to cleanse our government from officials who serve their wallets rather then the people and the nation of China." No comment from the accused. We here at Central Daily News condemn any attempt by government officials to make money off the backs of the people of China, and we applaud the government and the police for taking this decisive and necessary action.

The United States will agree to, at this time, sell 3 of the 7 requested Baltimore-class heavy cruisers from our current stock, and produce another 4 specifically for South African use. The price of these ships combined will be 280 million US dollars. We will modify the vessels with the requested systems without any additional cost.
