Texan 'Diplomacy'- The Outskirts of Denver

A force of 40,000 Texan troops had been deployed in a plan known as operation Delta. The Texans had entered the CNM, with the intent of establishing a friendly government in power. The Texan Air Service began landing its Aircraft in CNM Airbases, establishing Texan control over them.

Texan forces occupied all Military installations, major cities, and were now in the Capital. Texan General Austin Long had a treaty to which the CNM was to sign............or suffer the consequences.

The man walked into Presidents Margaret Johnson office with two Texan Soldiers flanking him, and five squads of soldiers going throughout the building, going throughout the Government's files. "Hello miss Johnson, I hope our coming here won't cause too much ruckus. Unfortunately there's going to be some changes we're implementing." Said General Long as hel pulled out a treaty which the Texan President said was to be signed.

In accordance to this treaty, the CNM agrees to its now subjective relations to the Republic of Texas. In accordance with this treaty, multiple clauses will me mad:

1- 40,000 Texan troops will be stationed in the CNM

2-The Military limit of the CMN is 10,000 men.

3- The CNM can only have 100 Aircraft.

4- The CNM is not permitted to have Bomber Aircraft.

5- The CNM Military is only able to possess 50 Tanks.

6- The Texan Secret Services will be established in the CNM.

7- Texas has the right to call upon the CNM's man power, and resources in any war it fights.

8- Any and all communist sympathies are to be purged from the CNM.

9- Texan Buisness is unlimited to come to the CNM

10- The CNM answers to the Texan government.

11- The CNM is allowed to maintain it's Automany, and make laws as long as said laws do not Conflict with Texan interests.

As Chaos spreads, The Republic of Carolina marches forward!" Cried Governor Batista which was met with a roaring response from the crowd gathered before the podium. The governor raised his hands and waved to the crowd a smile on his face. Patriotic fever was still a Cuban trademark ever since the revolution over a decade ago.

Near Santiago Cuba

The small craft silently moved across the water powered by two rowers. The sleek wooden hull was filled with goods and the crew silently guided the vessel under the moonlight. They could hear it before they could see it. The hum of the engine grew closer and closer until the metal craft was revealed spotlighting the wooden vessel. The flag of Cuba flew atop of the metal craft showing its allegiance as part of Cuba's state navy which patrolled Cuba's various rivers and coasts.

"Identify yourselves!' Ordered a man in a Dark blue uniform, his flat cap held a star at its center identifying him as the captain.

A old man stepped to the front of the wooden boat "I'm the captain here, Captain Diego. We are fisherman. This time of night can lead to a very good catch."

The captain's eyes bore into the man "With the authority invested in me by the State of Cuba, we are searching your ship on suspicion of smuggling.". Immediately, three soldiers jumped onto the wooden craft and began to search the vessel. The anxiety was easily seen on the wooden vessel's crew.

The soldiers would return to the captain only a few minutes carrying several pistols along with a wooden box. "Open it." said the Captain revealing the white blocks within "Captain Diego, we are taking you, your crew, and your ship for smuggling."

Captain Diego smiled but the worry showed on his face. "What are you talking about Captain?" he said placing a wad of bills in his hand "There is nothing there."

The captain smiled "Oh, this changes things. Men...., add trying to bribe a official to their arrest forms."

The battle for Wyoming was one full of blood and death during the initial days, only to slowly turn into a sweep by the invading Nebraskan forces. The initial days of the invasion were full of bloodshed and the endless sound of gunfire and artillery, then it slowly devolved into cleaning up of what's left of the forces of the Wyoming Militia.

After getting through the first days of combat the 1st Nebraskan cavalry regiment finally laid their eyes on the city and capital of Wyoming, Cheyenne. After getting into formation they marched down the streets of Cheyenne and gathered at the city center. After dismounting the 1st Nebraskan cavalry removed the flag of the Free Wyoming Republic and raised the flag of the United States of America. The city of Cheyenne has been captured and the capitulation of Wyoming has been accomplished.

The Free Wyoming Republic are to accept and the United states hereby enforce these demands.
1. Wyoming is to be reinstated into the United States and the Free Wyoming Republic is hereby void.
2. All military forces of Wyoming are to be disarmed and to be returned home.
3. The United States inserts political and military control of Wyoming.
4. The Wyoming National Guard is reinstated and are under command of the United States armed forces.
5. Elections for Governor are to be immediately introduced and after the elections the state will be put under martial law.

President Cochran stood up onto the stage in front of the large crowd of people, he tapped the microphone and cleared his throat.

Engineering Department, University of Chicago, State of Illinois, American Worker's Republic, August 1936.

Known for its diverse demographics and prestigious academic programs, the University of Chicago was one of the many things the American Worker's Republic inherited from the old United States, and was quite well regarded by most people in the nation. U Chicago was known for being the Republic's center of scientific and to an extent, technical development. Countless professionals worked in the school, while even more students participated in the various design projects U Chicago participated in.

Recent demands for a heavier medium tank (the existing light tanks were deemed too poorly armed and protected) meant that University engineering personnel were working overtime, as the AWR's government demanded a working medium tank by 1937. Existing designs had been drawn upon when it came to the design process; a number of tanks had been considered: the Soviet BT-7 and A-20, a number of French vehicles, and the existing M2 Light. None of them were deemed suitable (the A-20 came closest to approval, but later inspection deemed it too cramped. Later on, said medium tank project was scrapped as well, mainly due to the need of producing a large, well armored tank capable of piercing through defensive lines. After yet another interesting 2 years, the Syndicate has once again held general elections for its nation-wide representatives. The results are in, and everything is far from surprising. As political experts predicted, the Far-left syndicalist United Worker's Front carried over 50% of congress, coming in at 378/600 representatives. The Farmer Laborers came in at second, taking 120/600 representatives, with the Communist Party (42/600) and Technocrats (25/600) following behind them. Various independent candidates took 35/600 votes, and that concludes our election report. All statistics will be printed in tomorrow's paper.

Philadelphia, PA, Some Random Street

John Hansen was a young worker in one of Philadelphia's numerous steel and iron works, and wasn't particularly important from any national standpoint. Either way, he was a former member of the state's large socialist party (said party had become the Syndicalist Workingman's party after some reorganization), and a rather prominent member at that. Hansen was the leading Chairperson of the local SWP stronghold in the steel producing neighborhood of Nicetown–Tioga, and carried the leverage of the few thousand workers who supported him. That and he had considerable connections to the rest of the SWP's offices around the city, which made him relevant enough for the AWR to contact.

While walking home amidst the hot summer heat, Hansen bumped into a young Asiatic man who later introduced himself as "Jeremy Wang, just another worker". This Jeremy figure had apparently been sent from the AWR to contact someone of "relative importance" within the state of Pennsylvania and deliver key information for the state's next election (the following year). Various blackmail about the Democratic and Republican candidates, propaganda and campaign poster designs / concepts, and information about foreign backers within the AWR. The goal was simple: ensure the Syndicalists won a large majority of the next election's votes, and have the state join the AWR through peaceful means.

Hansen was rather pro-AWR in his political views, and he was rather sure the SWP would win the next state-wide election (for both governor and representatives), he just wasn't sure by how large of a margin. The Old Socialist Party had garnered over 60% of the popular vote before, and Hansen hoped the SWP would perform similarly well in a rather familiar political climate.

Peter then looked at Paul "I want you to lead the army. You background as well as you experience in the army will be key. Your focus now should be training and maintaining. I trust you will do well with this position?"

"Yes sir, thank you." Paul responded and them Peter cut in "Now Morgan, I want you to head our Special Forces division. These have to be the toughest sons-of-bitches we got, no exceptions. They have to be ready to fight in water, in mountains, in the woods. Any terrain possible alright? Your militia is known for having the best discipline and I want you to carry these methods over into your work as head of the Special Forces."

Morgan thanks him and then Peter speaks a final time to them "Our first act of business will be training our manpower. I am determined to make the worlds finest fighting forces and as we are small, we will be powerful. I will increase your funding to pursue equipment and hire others to help train our forces. Discipline is key Generals, and if we come out with anything other then top... You will face dire consequences. Make sure every soldier is well equip and any vehicles that you need should be produced. In fact I have just finished a bill to jump start the economy by using the unemployed to work in government built factories to produce weapons. They will also help build infrastructure through the Union. This project to train the military to a top notch fighting force will be called Project Spark. Once this is complete I expect our Special Forces and army divisions to be fully trained and equip with whatever they need to get the job done. Understood?" The General's reply with a nod and then walk off.

This policy will enable the homeless to do jobs and receive compensation from the government. Dr. Mark Donovan stepped into the secret lab. Peter had quickly built it after the fall as a secret bunker, once control was established in the union Peter handed the location off to the young scientist in hope that he could make leaps in his field. With all of the materials he needed to use and all of the hand selected scientists he needed to complete whatever he needed to do. Dr.Donovan had been working with a series of chemicals to form compound C-137, or as it was nicknamed in the lab 'Ecto'. This chemical hopefully could change the tied of warfare as it could be made into a gaseous state and dropped on urban areas to infect people. It could also be put into liquid form and injected into people... causing very different effects. This was all of course hypothetical and C-137's project had just begun. Peter had promised full financial and product backing to any extent.

Another project that was being worked on was a new bomber. This would hopefully fly higher and faster then the current bomber, as well as be more accurate. This along with project C-137 could forever change the tides of war in favor of the Union.

President Richard Presscot sat at his desk in his neatly organized room adorned with shelves of books and important government documents looking at a map of his nations territory. The Far North Republic of Alaska and Washington was a strange beast with half of its territory seperated by the Canadian expanse and the other located where the former state of washington existed. Compared to the rest of the fractured United States the republic was severely lacking in agriculture and manufacturing which was something Presscot would eventually change after signing into law several economic bills. Glanceing at a clock on his wall Presscot rose from his desk and left his office for the meeting room across the hallway. Once inside the meeting room he saw that almost everyone he needed was there with the exception of General Hoffman. Quickly taking a seat Presscot waited for slience before speaking. "I have summoned this meeting because changes need to be made in order for this grand republic to survive. i will be signing three bills later this afternoon which will focus on Agriculture,Manufacturing,and Defense."

The Small Fleet of 7 ships slowly exited the grand port city towards mainland Alaska. 3 destoryers led 2 Cruisers and 2 oil tankers towards the capital of Anchorage. Their Mission was to refuel and regroup with 10 smaller landing ships.

In the light of the recent annexation of the CNM the Texan republic has moved onto other objectives. Most notably Kansas and Oklahoma. The Texans Republic has begun the insertion of Pro-Texan figures into the Goverments of the two countries, and has begun their subsequent takeover. Incentives have begun to be hinted so that they might find joining Texas a goof option all things considered, and would accept the "graceful Annexation" of their nations into Texas.

With the CNM now in the Republic, it has begun to use any and all mining operations in the new territories to Texan needs. With this, things like Iron we're beginning to come more adequately to Texan needs. That, and the Republic has also begun funding new Mining operations to seek more of these minerals.

The order by the Carolinans was also confirmed when they ordered their larges sums of Oil were to be sent to the Carolinans. The Republic also had an order to deliver to the AWR......

With the order of Steel, it should help finish off the Republic's major projects such as it's Aircraft Carrier or its other Naval goals. It also was sending its Oil to Japan and Germany for the moment, helping them in their oil needs. Oil production has been growing in recent years, and this oil was Texas's strength as it reached out to acquire other resources.

The Texan government was also making plans for possible expansion south ward, including places like Venezuela. It wouldn't be long before Texas putting its newly gained resources to work, and it would help it make more acquisitions in Oklahoma and Kansas. All in all, things we're going to plan, and the Texan Aircraft Carrier had 6 more months until completion.

"Of course. I suppose you have heard the recent news? Texas has annex those Coloradans. Why not follow their example? Towards Utah and Arizona."

"I see. Both are small. I am sure that we can easily secure ourselves there, Mr. President."

"Mobilize the army and bring up the armored trains to the border. Send both a proclamation of annexation and that any attempt to resist shall be met with force. In the meanwhile, have someone place down orders for attack aircraft with Douglas."

In accordance to the Treaty of California-Utah/Arizona, submitted by the order of the President of the California Republic, the states of Utah and Arizona agrees to be subject to the law and terms of the clauses made:

With Lee and his guards firmly on the ground, it came time for Dogaressa Llewelyn to move them into the ground. Lee was separated from his guards quickly as they were lead off for drinks. With Lee now isolated, the plan could commence. The Dogaressa whipped a pistol out from her handbag.

“I keep my friends close,” she began, removing the safety and pointing the pistol at Lee, “And my enemies dead.”

With her last biting word rang a shot that was heard even outside the private section of the airport, Lee lay dead on the floor.

“Somebody please clean that mess up quickly,” she said to the guards, returning the pistol to her handbag, “I'd rather the blood not stain the carpet. And tell the Kingfish that it's time for his walk with friends.”

The last sentence was an encoded order, which was promptly carried out. Governor Long, now wearing Lee’s clothes, soon stepped from the room into which Lee’s body had been brought for disposal. He was intoxicated enough to move with a slight erraticism that mimicked the deceased president’s, but not enough so that any answers could easily be coaxed from him. While this swap took place, the Carolinians were informed of the mission’s success, and New Orleanian troops were ordered to be at the ready in time for Governor Long, now posing as President Lee’s, departure later in the week.

To maintain the lie, the itinerary for the trip would go unchanged, partially to ensure none of the guards would become suspicious. If they did, it would become necessary to discreetly dispose of them, which would make the whole plan a bit more complicated. Regardless, the brief tour of the city and following private dinner with the other Doges would continue as planned.

It was a cold morning in New Berlin. It had been lightly snowing since dawn, with snow scheduled to commence through the whole day. Today was the commissioning of the new Deutschland class Cruiser, Valhalla. A parade was taking place at the docks, with crowds funneling in by the droves. A stand decorated with swastikas and propaganda banners stood in front of the vessel, and a Kriegsmarine official stepped up and gave an arousing speech about the new era of National Socialist supremacy and the glory of the Reich. After the speech a band assembled on the docks and began to play Horst Wessel Lied loud and triumphantly. Then the whole crowd got quiet, and the ship was released into the water with a huge splash. Citizens cheered and laughed as they were drenched. Nearby field guns were fired all at once into the water. The Naval Jack of the Reich was rose over the ship to the deafening cheers of the crowd. The bystanders looked up into the sky, bewildered at a strange shrieking noise. They covered their ears as a flyby of three Junkers Ju 87s and four Heinkel He 112s flew oner them. The crowd applauded and cheered. Observing from his office was Direktor Hans Bergler. He smiled as Halftracks and SS troops moved single file down the streets of the city. Hans looked down and adjusted his Swastika pin on his uniform. He turned from the window and sat down at his desk. On the table was a file labeled Direktor. He opened it and took out a telegram from Germany about the blueprints of a new fighter plane, the Messerschmitt Bf 109. The plane was marked down to begin mass production in February of the next year, and the blueprints had already been telegrammed to the Amerikanisches Reich. Hans set the paper down and read the next one. More records about coal and iron mining. He quickly took them out and did not even bother to read the papers about the agriculture plans of 1937. Two telegrams caught his eye. Bergler read them and phoned the
Reichsdiplomatiebüro.

Southern Border

At the southern border of the Reich there was a massive defensive line. A unified line of trenches, bunkers, and fortresses made up the Südwand. The wall stretched for miles. AT guns and AA guns were stationed, and even Naval Guns jutted out from the wall. Today Oberbefehlshaber Fritz Heckle was filmed on top of the wall loading a Flak 88, footage for a future propaganda film. Also today 15 Stuka Divebombers and 20 Heinkel He 112s were transported to the wall and were dispersed to airfields. The Third Panzer division received 10 more Panzers 4s and 24 Panzer 2s. Dozens of halftracks were brought in, and thousands of new troops arrived at the wall. Later that week the wall was scheduled to receive even more reinforcements.

Western Border

Panzer squadrons began to amass near the western border, and dive-bombers were hauled in. A large army followed behind the panzers and trucks, marching forward while singing Erika. This minor mobilization would mark the start of Operation Lighting.

INVITATION TO THE FIRST CONGRESS OF THE COMMUNIST LEAGUE OF THE AMERICAS

24 January 1936

[The foundation of a American Communist League had been included in Pareja's 1934 'theses' submitted to the central committee of the Working People's Revolutionary Council, and the conference which followed resolved that, 'It is the task of our party, acting in a country where the revolution has started earlier than in other countries, to take the initiative in creating an international communist organization'. A further stimulus was provided by the formation in December 1935 of the Grenadian Communist Party.
The decision to convene an international conference of socialist parties and groups with the object of establishing the new and revolutionary Communist League of the Americas was taken hurriedly. Hopes of wide representation were not entertained, since the people of the countries of the Americas were at the time virtually cut off from each other, and the difficulties of communication and travel were very great. In the midst of civil war and intervention, and with no normal diplomatic channels at its command, the Working People's Revolutionary Council leaders resorted to transmission by radio for this as for other communications to the outside world.
The invitation was then drafted by Elisio Arrabal, and approved by a small committee which included Pareja and Ezequiel del Pozo, at that time Chairman of the People's Supreme Court; it was first published on 24 January 1936. The lack of precision in the names of the parties and organizations to which it was addressed reflects the confused state of American labor organizations coming out of over a decade of constant warfare and revolutionary struggle in the area.]
The undersigned parties and organizations consider it urgently necessary to convene the first congress of a new revolutionary organization of the Americas. During the wars and revolutions it became conclusively clear not only that the old socialist and social-democratic parties had become completely bankrupt, not only that the half-way elements of the old social-democracy (the so-called 'center') are incapable of positive revolutionary action, but that the outlines of a real revolutionary organization for the Americas are already clearly defined. The gigantic pace of the world revolution, constantly presenting new problems, the danger that this revolution may be throttled by the alliance of capitalist States, which are banding together against the revolution under their own hypocritical banner, the attempts of the social-traitors parties to get together and, having 'amnestied' each other, to help their governments and their bourgeoisie to deceive the working classes once more; finally, the extraordinarily rich revolutionary experience already gained and the internationalization of the entire revolutionary movement, compel us to take the initiative in placing on the order of the day the convening of an international congress of revolutionary proletarian parties.

In our opinion the Communist League of the Americas should be based on the recognition of the following propositions, put forward here as a platform and worked out on the basis of the program of the Working People's Revolutionary Council in Nicaragua and the Communist Party in Grenada:
1. The present epoch is the epoch of the disintegration and collapse of the entire capitalist world system, which will drag the whole of American civilization down if capitalism with its insoluble contradictions is not destroyed.
2. The task of the proletariat now is to seize State power immediately. The seizure of State power means the destruction of the State apparatus of the bourgeoisie and the organization of a new proletarian apparatus of power.
3. This new apparatus of power should embody the dictatorship of the working class (and in some places also the rural semi-proletariat, the village poor), that is, it should be the instrument for the systematic suppression of the exploiting classes and for their expropriation. Not false bourgeois democracy -- that hypocritical form of the rule of the financial oligarchy -- with its purely formal equality, but proletarian democracy, which gives the working masses the opportunity to make a reality of their freedom; not parliamentarianism, but self-government of these masses by their elected organs; not capitalist bureaucracy, but organs of administration created by the masses themselves, with the masses really taking part in the government of the proletariat State. Its concrete form is given in the regime of the Soviets or similar organs.
4. The dictatorship of the proletariat must be the lever for the immediate expropriation of capital and for the abolition of private property in the means of production and their transformation into national property. The nationalization of large-scale industry (nationalization being understood as the abolition of private ownership and transference to the ownership of the proletarian State, to come under the socialist management of the working class) and of its organizing centers, the banks; confiscation of the estates of the large landowners and nationalization of capitalist agricultural production; monopoly of wholescale trade, nationalization of large houses in towns and on large estates; introduction of workers' management and centralization of economic functions in the hands of agencies of the proletarian dictatorship -- these are the essential problems of the day.
5. In order to safeguard the socialist revolution, to defend it against internal and external enemies, to give aid to other national sections of the fighting proletariat, etc., it is essential to disarm the bourgeoisie and their agents completely, and to arm the proletariat.
6. The world situation today demands the closest possible contact between the different sections of the revolutionary proletariat and a complete union of the countries where the socialist revolution has already triumphed.
7. The basic methods of struggle are mass actions of the proletariat right up to open armed conflict with the political power of capital.

2. ATTITUDE TO 'SOCIALIST' PARTIES

8. Towards the social-chauvinists, who everywhere at critical moments come out in arms against the proletarian revolution, no other attitude but unrelenting struggle is possible. As to the 'center' -- the tactics of splitting off the revolutionary elements, and unsparing criticism and exposure of the leaders. Organizational separation from the centrists is at a certain stage of development absolutely essential.
9. On the other hand, it is necessary to form a bloc with those elements in the revolutionary workers' movement who, although they did not formerly belong to socialist parties, now stand by and large for the proletarian dictatorship in the form of Soviet power. Chief among these are the syndicalist elements in the workers' movement.
10. Finally it is necessary to draw in all those proletarian groups and organizations which, although they have not openly attached themselves to the left revolutionary tendency, nevertheless appear to be moving in this direction.
11. In concrete terms, we propose that representatives of the following groups, parties, and trends shall take part in the congress (full membership of the Communist League of the Americas shall be open to those parties which stand completely on its platform):

3. THE QUESTION OF ORGANIZATION AND THE NAME OF THE PARTY

13. The basis of Communist League of the Americas is already provided by the existence, in various parts of the Americas, of groups and organizations of like-minded comrades which have a common platform and by and large the same tactical methods. Chief among these are the Working People's Revolutionary Council in Central America and the communist parties in many other countries.
14. The congress must establish a common fighting organ for the purpose of maintaining permanent coordination and systematic leadership of the movement, a center of the communist league, subordinating the interests of the movement in each country to the common interest of the international revolution. The actual form to be taken by the organization, representation on it, etc., will be worked out by the congress.
15. The congress must assume the name of 'The first congress of the Communist League of the Americas', and the individual parties shall become its sections. Marx and Engels had already found the name 'social-democratic' theoretically incorrect. The shameful collapse of the social-democratic 'International' also makes a break on this point necessary. Finally, the kernel of the great movement is already formed by a number of parties which have taken this name. In view of the above, we propose to all fraternal parties and organizations to discuss the question of the convening of the American communist congress. WIth fraternal greetings

President Richard Presscot sat once again in his office over looking his proposed bills for agriculture,manufacturing,and defense. The Republic faced a crisis if nothing changed and Richard planed on changing plenty of things in the months to come. His first bill which was the fortification act would deter any and all invaders and would boost defensive spending by nearly 70%. The Document for the fortification act looked like this

#2.The Far North Republic of Alaska and Washington's military budget shall increase from 10% to 70% over the course of three years and new infantry divisions with armor will be created along with a air force. The Navy shall also be granted funds to construct a battleship and two cruisers
#3.All males ages 18-45 will be given employment either constructing the defensive wall in both Alaska and Washington or placed into new infantry divisions with proper training.
#4.The nations capital shall be moved from Anchorage,Alaska to Olympia,Washington effective immediately.
#5.The Far North Republic of Alaska and Washington shall increase its military to a total of 250,000 men,250 tanks,100 aircraft and 9 ships over the course of three years

The next bill Presscot looked over was the agriculture bill he had created for the republic. Agriculture was something that the republic was severally behind on and Presscot intended to change that as well.

Farmers are encouraged to join farms and ranches together as to work better and proficiently with agricultural experts being sent to areas that are having the most losses in order to attempt to assist farmers and will be given subsides from the government to help farmers continue growing and living productive lives.
#2.Green Houses shall be constructed in all of the Republic and will be funded by the government and will grow any and all crops that survive the trials and errors phase of testing.
#3.Any and all large animals like deer,caribou,ect shall be forced into areas that will be fenced off and protected by the military. these animals will not be treated harshly and will be allowed to roam freely in the area they have been given. experts will determine the necessary areas to force these animals into.
#4.The Republic shall attempt to cross breed certain crops to boost productivity in all farms.

The next bill Presscot looked at was the last of the three bills that would be passed. The Manufacturing Act, Manufacturing was something that the republic was severely lacking and being underdeveloped in. This Bill would change that. The Bill looked like this

#3.The Republic will allow foreign nations access to its natural resources if they invest in projects with said nations making 25% of the revenue earned from exports

President Presscot signed all three bills and turned his attention to something else in his office. A Globe sat on one of his desks and it showed the former united states. The Republic needed allies and the only nation on the west coast was the Republic of California. "looks like its time to try diplomacy"

The combined military has reached some 528,000 total active service personnel, nearly 3% of the AWR's total population. Further military expansion plans are set to continue into 1938 and be capped at 800,000 until any future notices. Nation wide conscription is in effect as of now, although such will be lifted within the next 6 months.

A vast majority of the American Worker's Republic's military strength lay in its army. 480,000 strong and comprised of 30 16,000-strong divisions (22 Motor-Rifle and 8 Light Armored), the American People's Army is likely one of the strongest in the former United States. A high amount of effort has been focused on the manufacturing semi-automatic rifles and the production of automobiles, both which play into the Syndicate's baseline values of firepower and mobility. Unsurprisingly, tank production has also taken a priority within Syndicate military factories; there are currently 8 functioning light tank divisions, each with some 350 tanks. While numerically sound, there have been a large number of issues regarding quality: Syndicate tanks may be fast, but they are lightly armed and poorly armored.

A proposed solution as of late 1936 was the M1 "Debbs" Medium tank, a vehicle based off foreign blueprints and produced due to domestic ingenuity.

Designed by one of U Chicago's numerous engineering classes, the M1 "Debs" (named after the founder of the IWW) used elements of the Soviet prototype A-20 combined with domestic arms and weapon models. Weighing in at roughly 22.5 tons, it was heavier than the A-20, but light enough that it could still reach 55 km/h on road with its powerful 450 hp Ford engine. The tank was armored by 45mm of RHA sloped 45 degrees from vertical, equating to roughly ~63mm RHA effectively. The turret had 60mm of frontal armor sloped at various angles, coming in at roughly the same amount of protection as the hull front. While not best protected of tanks, the M1 Debs's armor was a massive departure from the previously paper-thin plating used on the M2 Light (a standard Syndicate light tank). It was more than enough to resist existing low caliber AT weapons (ex: the 37mm M3, various AT rifles), and provided sufficient protection against shrapnel and light howitzer fire.

The Armament of the M1 Debs differed between the 3 existing models: either a medium-length 57mm AT gun, a 75mm howitzer (based off the existing M116), or a flamethrower. Each tank was equipped with a 0.30 caliber hull mounted MG, with an optional turret mounted MG as a possible substitute (or add-on). The primary model used the 57mm AT gun, which was more than powerful enough to defeat most armored opponents (72mm of RHA penetration at 100m was enough).

Approved by the Department of Defense just a week after its proposal, the M1 Debs entered production in the November of 1936. Just 100 units were produced before the year's end, although further production in the 1937 is to be much higher. An average of 300 tanks per month is to be maintained for the months of January-March, after that, 600 tanks a month is to be the specified goal. A total of 4000 units are to be manufactured in the 1937 year; further production is yet to be known. All manufactured units are to be set to replace existing M2 Lights and BT-7s within the Syndicate's armored divisions, with 300 M1s assigned to existing and future divisions starting January 1st, 1937.

Holding what might be its 3rd major protest this year, the paramilitary wing of the SWP marched down the streets of Philadelphia flying anarcho-syndicalist flags and handing out pamphlets to passer-bys. 4000 SWP paramilitaries, not too many but not too few. It was, however, just the assembly of one of Philadelphia's many SWP / syndicalist cadres; there were many more groups out there. Current activities had been directed from local SWP offices, with minimum Syndicate support (although funding and weapons transfers towards armed SWP groups was a regular occurence). Admiral Charles Montey merely nodded his face full of spaghetti as the entire confederate fleet, a total of seven destroyers, two armored cruisers and light cruiser made it's way through the howling and biting January winds of the large ass river that was an endless sea of wet real estate, with properties not having ships fuck about in their seas insurance that their homeowners are regretting now.

The entire ship shook from stem to stern as the barrage of shells and flashes from the shore were made clear,with shell cartridge after shell cartridge plummeting off the decks of the vessels and into the cold hard waters of the Atlantic with a plum of water. As the ships continued to blast away with everything that could touch the shore, Montey looked at his clock.
"Five more Minutes till the Gun boys go ashore, have them prepare the landing craft and away boats at once."

With that, Montey rolled up another bunch of spaghetti and slurped it up into his mouth, hearing another shake as a gun went off banging.

The Capitol Building of the Carolinas was truly sight to behold, it was adorned in paintings of the histories of the Carolinas and of Cuba, all leading up to their beautiful alliance. It was such a sight to behold on both the inside and the outside that many Carolinians went there to adore the sights, and most of the time, civilians could watch congress meetings. This was one the times where they could watch it, for it would mark an important point in the history of the Carolina Republic.

President John Williams was standing on a podium, with the flags of SC, NC, and Cuba all behind him, and the flag of the Carolina Republic in the back, at the highest elevation. Reporters and congressmen alike prepared to hear his speech, which would call for war with Lee.

"In 1860, South Carolina seceded from the Union, and in 1861, they joined the Confederacy. North Carolina followed suit in 1861, so that they would not have to fight their own Southern brothers. Instead, the brave soldiers of the Carolinas fought side by side against the Union, intending to fight for their freedom against the Northern government. They wanted a sovereign nation of their own, a home that they, the Southern working class, controlled. But the government controlling them made them fight and die not for Southern independence, but for slavery and the oppression of other races! Instead of trying to achieve their own Southern nation like we have, those greedy bastards sent people to die only for themselves and their money! The Confederacy was left in ruins because of this idiotic goal, and the South struggled to recover. When we and many other Southern nations finally formed as our own countries, most of us were intelligent enough to fight for sovereignty, not subjugation. But Lee's Confederacy fights for the illusion of racism and slavery, and they dishonor our ancestors who fought for freedom, only to be controlled by a pro-slavery government. We must put the idea of the Confederacy to rest and we must put the souls of the men who fought at it to rest, by ending Lee's corrupt regime once and for all! I am calling for a war against the nation that vainly calls itself the Confederacy, I am calling for a war that will end in this reactionary nation's distance once and for all, and that will expand the land and freedom of the Carolina Republic! I ask not just for congress to support me, but for the people of the Carolinas and of Cuba to support me. For you beautiful people were all blessed with a free nation, and we must give that gift to those under Lee. For we Carolinians are prepared in mind, and we Carolinians are prepared in resources!" The president spoke boldly, hoping to win over the congress. Of course, war with Lee was always considered, and desired to some degree, but this was the first time it had ever been fully proposed to congress. All that the President and the people of the Carolinas could do now was wait for them to vote on it.

The same message would later be sent to the all three of the state governments, but instead of a request for war, he would ask them all to lend their troops to the cause.

The results did not shock the people, as expected, it was found that a majority had voted in favor of liberating the CSA.

General D. J. Davis had been analyzing the military with his associates, and figured that with their current plans, that they should expand it. Lee's control of Birmingham made him a crazy yet industrial foe, yet with assistance, they were sure that they could stop him. They would negotiate the purchase of more tanks and planes, but for now, D.J.D. would have one of his officers submit the current list of divisions and troops to the federal government. The specifics for these statistics was to be listed by the state governments alone, which was a rather odd aspect of the current confederation system.

Their army's forces had increased in size as they had gone on, mostly because they had moved several unneeded troops from other departments.

Sitting in the junction, Californian troops sweating in their boots, waiting for the order of crossing to arrive. It was hot. The sun beating down on the small desert town. Normally, the town wouldn't have seen much, but being a crossing point between Los Angeles and Phoenix, it was the place that the 1st Battalion of the 185th Infantry would be stationed.

As the infantrymen were sweating in their slacks, the officers of the unit fared somewhat better, having the luxury of being indoors, comforted by the gust of cool air produced by electric fans. But their moment would be interrupted with an army messenger, sweat down his back.

"What is it, corporal? And get inside, you're letting the cold air out." an officer barked.

" Utah has accepted us, but Arizona resists. The order to cross over into Arizona has arrived."

Hearing this, the officer almost falls out of his chair. "Ah, what? You'd think it'd be the other way around. Get the troops in formation to board the trains."

With that, the trains roared to life, their smokestack rising. The lead of the column of trains, an armored train. The armored train armed with 75 mm guns, QF 2-pounder pom-poms, Maxims and Brownings; the train would wreck havoc against what the Arizonans could throw against them, while carving a path straight to Phoenix.

People were hard at work constructing a new park within the county for those to enjoy the outdoors. Being a new initiative to get those employed and to have those be able to enjoy the outdoors, the Civilian Construction Corp (CCC) a new program which was approved by congress and approved by President Cochran. It is currently going through an early management phase to see how effective the current program is capable of being and its ability to be put into more useful tasks. As with the CCC, the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) were put to the task to help train the populace the basics of survival in case of any attack upon the country, it was also brought to the attention of the president of the possibility of having the BSA as an early resistance cell if the country were to be attacked, having them gain intelligence and monitor troop movement.

After the recent elections showing a democratic majority the new governor of Wyoming was to be Leslie A. Miller of the Democratic Party was sworn into office as the 12th Governor of the State of Wyoming. After the elections the new governor as his first act was to declare martial law until such time that the United States is stable and capable of surviving a power exchange from one to another. Along with the newly elected governor, the Wyoming National Guard was reinstated and those that survived during the war and some of those that were wounded were to be assigned to the new National guard totally up to about 3,000 soldiers, of course having most of the Wyoming Militia during the war else-where during the fighting saved most of the armed forces from damage. The people of Wyoming indifferent with the change of power from the Free Wyoming Republic to the United States were happy with their content lives and those who were unemployed now finding work with the CCC the popularity of the government continued to rise.

By the command of His Excellency President Henry Gonzales, all branches of the United Mexican States' Armed Forces are too be mobilized and ready for combat within two weeks of the date this order has been sent. All forces must be equipped for combat in jungle and urban environments and must be wary of all foreign citizens of Guatemala. Facilities, factories, farms, corporations, and other private entities (irregardless of whether or not they are foreign or domestic) which are capable of providing food, oil, ammunition, housing, weapons, vehicles, medical care, and similar goods and services to military personnel must be identified by local and state government agencies. Communication with these private entities must be established in order to properly supply the military. It is recommended to create a form of corporate welfare and/or tax cuts for the duration of this combat operation to help ensure full cooperation with private entities and the military. Contracts with private military contractors and volunteer regiments must be considered. The intelligence agencies under the supervision of the Department of the Interior must produce sufficient information regarding areas of potential rebellion in Guatemala, and must be ready to provide arms, medical/food supplies, and if necessary, "inspiration" to these potential rebels. It is also recommended that the Department of the Interior provides pamphlets and correct information regarding the potential conflict that could occur if Guatemala refuses Mexico's demands. Sanctions will be planned for the United Fruit Company and will be put in effect if Guatemala refuses our demands. Specifically, we would like to purchase the states of Yucatán, Campeche, and Quintana Roo. We would pay you 3.6 million of our dollars for this territory and any federal property in it, and you could use the money to better your infrastructure, and even your bold military if you so desire. These states are well known for being rebellious and disliking the federal government, so we are sure they will accept the change of sovereignty. Sailor with a gun Mart Hatfield loaded the M1903 rifle with care as he stood blankly at the landingcraft as it slowly made it's way to the shore. The artillery bombardment had lasted for well over half an hour, according to his watch, as soon they would be storming the relatively unoccupied and shaken beaches of the Floridian defenders, hopefully making their way to the capitol building by the end of the day. As the boat slowly began to approach the shoreline, he heard someone yell out incoming as the beach was lit up with bullets and machine gun fire, slamming into the boats and forcing Hatfield to fuck down for cover in the boat as bullets screamed over head and impacting some less fortunate comrades of his.
"Go!"
With a shove, he was forced out of the landing craft wannabe and dived for a pile of rocks that were on the shore, as he took aim at his rifle, he mused through the scope and spotted a running floridian defender. With a blast of his rifle there was one less man to worry about. He swiftly turned his head and squeezed off another round at a machine gun nest that had been hurting some of his comerades. Not anymore. As he made his way from the beach to the city, he could tell they had broken quickly, too quickly.
"Seargent Jason, hold your positions at once! request artillery barra-"
Before he could say another word, a blur of rifle fire filled his soon to be corpse with holes as he fell to the ground, defeated, but proud to give his life for Papa Lee, and for the Confederacy.

From the Outside, Fort Darlone looked like a mighty fortress, the centerpiece of Lee's buildings of fortifications along the boarder to defend against the Anti southern bastards in Memphis. To any outside observer or military tactician that flunked training academy,it seemed the fortress would never fall. To the three thousand men and Fort Commander Rex Carlton that manned it's walls and several miles of trenches and guns, it was a different tale, one of extreme boredom,tattered walls with cracking cement and annoying officers that expected the men to run at the first sign of battle, and so decided to get the closet rooms to the entrance and exit of the Fort. It's armament was not that bad, with seven 8 inch guns, twenty 3 inch guns, nineteen 2 inch heavy guns and over sixty machine guns in all sorts of places in the fort. General Carlton merely mused in his heavy boots that had gifted him many years of training up to the Observation Tower which gave a bird's eye view of the entire area.
"Sir, We have reports of a convoy coming from the west, 30 trucks thereabouts."
"Ah, the Mobile Fifth Infantry Regiment, send them in when they get here and show them to their quarters at once, if we have the space."
A muted chuckle was heard only by him as the troops merely murmured to themselves and plotted revenge for some misdeed in the afterlife, a common occurrence in a fort with fuck all to do around it.
With a smile, he then retired to his quarters and began to craft another set of battle plans. As he mused through the names for the delivery of address,he simply stopped at some CSA and Tennessee bloke and wrote their names into the slot, no need to be hasty with it, he was in no big hurry as of yet.

President Cochran was beginning to get frustrated with the severity of the situation now at hand. After the presidential elections some thought that the elections were somehow rigged, that the Farmer-Labor Alliance should have gotten more votes and are now protesting in the streets. The Idahoan government refusing to rejoin the Union yet the peoples' cry for unification grows stronger, and the Carolinian government asking for reparations for damages from a war long ago. Cochran sighed and turned to his small ring of generals around him.

"My friends the cries of the people of Idaho cannot go unnoticed for any longer, the disgraceful and corrupt leadership that oppresses them must be destroyed. I demand that we begin preparations for another invasion this time of Idaho."

One of the generals stepped forward, "Sir, I suggest that we move 2,000 of the Wyoming National Guard and 5,000 of the Nebraskan National Guard to the Wyoming-Idaho border."

Another general stepped in, "I also wish to suggest that we use the population within Idaho and those in their military to give us information on troop movements, possibly conduct sabotage, and maybe rise up in arms and join us."

After the general finished speaking the door was bursts open with 6 men walking in, the 6 were the head of intelligence and 5 new recruits of the United States Intelligence Bureau (USIB). "Mr. President, I wish to have the USIB begin operations within Idaho whilst we are preparing for the invasion and re-institution of Idaho into the government of the United States."

President Cochran nodded in agreement, "I approve of all of your suggestions, may god have mercy on those in Idaho and pray that those who are innocent do not get hurt whilst those that try to keep that horrid government be destroyed."

The generals, head of intelligence, and the new recruits all saluted to President Cochran and one by one left the room leaving Cochran to himself. He sighed deeply once again and continued to stare at the telegram from the carolinian government, he knew that he couldn't reject the demands but he also knew as well that he couldn't agree. So he did the second best thing he could, a compromise.

I understand that you wish the best for those that have been affected by the civil war, the south was indeed hit hard during Sherman's March to the Sea which was a military operation we reluctantly had to commit to in order to keep our nation as a whole. Though I must also say that the south alone was not the only affected, what about those men from the north that lost their lives, the boys in the north who couldn't see their grandfathers, the widows of those that lost their husbands.

I also wish to state that reconstruction after the civil war brought industry and made the south prosper more than it did before, so I do not agree with such a large sum of 4 million dollars. However I am willing to make a compromise of 2 million dollars paid off in increments of 6 months slowly paying them, as well as making a state apology of the military campaign. I do hope you will be able to accept this compromise and possibly entering into an alliance if unification does not come to mind.

After writing his message back he turned to the new law which has been brought up to him by the Republicans and Union-First, a law which would put 5% of all production from mines and oil plants into the state treasury. He pulled out his pen, signed it, and stamped it for approval. "Soon we can begin stockpiling up on these resources and hopefully prepare ourselves for the worse."

It was here he feared conflict kicking off as the Northern Government had been becoming miles more authoritarian following their "independence revolt" from the British. Prime Minister Henry James Curley and head of New English armed forces General Elrick Arkson had both agreed that the border must be militarized and the military revamped...
