In an absolute terms... yes, it kind of is. Korea was a superpower in the region that had plenty of allies and even more enemies.
In a relative terms... other nations had equally large empires. Just that Korea had more focal interest in keeping Southeast Asia their's and didn't want Europeans to have more than they already "ruined," so it fought with arms and legs for that. Other powers had their colonies spread out, but ultimately they had colonies just as large ^^
Yeah, which is why everything will depend on our new policy regarding colonies.
