During the economic crisis of 1927 (earlier than in our timeline) they began infrastructure projects which stabilized the economy within that project a massive underground bunker was built to be their Pentagon. In 1932, UCU voted to join back with Washington. Maintaining the name ‘United States of America’ however strongly feeling the name was tarnished they changed it to ‘The Unified States of America’. In 1934 they held the first election electing Breckinridge as President and FDR as Vice President. The two men quickly got to work with the new Congress on getting the Federal Government up and running once again. By 1935, the nation had pulled out of the depression and was thriving. The quickly built an advanced military with the help of the British and French. They also became socially progressive passing even Europe, Black and LGBT rights were the norm by then. So was a ban on Guns, Public Drinking, and Smoking. Prisons focused on education and rehabilitation. Hospitals were advanced, and mental facilities were easy to access. In 1936, while the population finally starts to feel normal again the federal government has a pressing issue on its hands. Germany in Europe is because very aggressive, war creeping on the horizon. Meanwhile, the remainder of the former United States is a severe concern as the have no diplomacy with any of the former states and no lines of communication, While most of their Western and Eastern borders are easily defendable, the southern and northern portions remain a weak link. Secretary of War, Robert Patterson, has proposed an insane plan, build a massive wall, (much like the Berlin wall) and build defenses within the nation especially around Washington making the nation a massive fort. It’s an expensive plan, but it’s one Congress is considering as the are still struggling with unemployment.

However, the Civil Rights I'm unwilling to change. The sudden fragmentation of the union caused a severe ideological and social flip one not seen in our timeline. The closest this happened in our timeline was the 60's. Meanwhile, you have a Nazi nation even though it didn't leave Germany till 39, you have a Japanese Puppet State even they were grabbing everything during this time, no puppet states, and the Sino-Japanese War is about to break up, so they are going to have to be called into that leaving them wide open. History: The Mexican defeat in the Mexican-American War was still a sour memory for many Mexicans even in the twentieth century. A few years after the very recent Mexican Revolution, President Henry Gonzales, a general notorious for allegedly committing atrocities against prisoners of war, promised to reform Mexico into becoming the greatest force in the Americas. President Gonzales had said many times in his speech that the United States was a symbol of tyranny in the Americas, and had labeled the US the "Great Roadblock On The Path to Progress". President Gonzales constantly reminded Mexicans of the rightful land of the previous Mexican Empire stolen by the Americans. "Justice" he had promised to the people. On December 1st, 1926, (6 years after the revolution and the day of the inauguration of a new President), the President-Elect of Mexico was assassinated by elite forces. President Gonzales and the Institutional Revolutionary Party declared Gonzales leader for life. The people were shocked. The next four years that followed involved brainwashing, executions, and extreme reforms to the Constitution, allocating huge amounts of power to the President, and giving the IRP a military wing. On 1930, after spending four years in Ciudad de Mexico, Gonzales made a public appearance, stating that "The Thousand Year Mexican Empire" shall be born in glory.
