"Yes indeed! Get to know each other a bit!" Harold was speaking with the stable staff. They soon rolled out a beautiful white horse.

Ella is watching the horse in front of her too closely to see the white horse. Her hand keeps on getting closer and then being pulled back getting slowly closer each time until she barely touches between the two nostrils and freezes there.

"Well um, wow. Yeah." She is mostly at a loss for words.

Amaras casually strolled through the halls of Longsworth, idly ambling his way along to the office of one Representative Harrington, a briefcase at his side, as usual. The recent ridiculousness of CREST being shunted off to a committee instead of being brought to a vote, aided by the treason of some supposedly conservative voices, had made more apparent that Amaras was rather in need of a House co-sponsor for some of the bills he continued to put out, and for that reason he was making this short trip. Harrington was, from what he could tell, a good sort to work with. He'd thrown some money into her campaign in 2010, as he had many Tea Party challengers, that infusion not a special one, and she had since seemed to pay that off handsomely, leading up the conservative wing in the lower chamber, even if she had gone somewhat quiet as of late.

This would help with that. Making it to the door, he made his way through the outer opening to greet the receptionist.

"Senator Amaras to see Representative Harrington, if you please. Not a scheduled visit."

Susanna Harrington had recently returned from a brief trip back home to Charleston. Even though segments of the city didn't very much like her, she loved it there. Not only that, but she had a working relationship with the thriving city's business community, which allowed for her to have a successful fundraiser at her elegant row house.

Recently she was a bit out of things. Her husband's death continued to be a large blow to her children, who demanded that she spend more time with them. That had only served to make her grieve more.

She was working on some paperwork when she had a knock on her door informing her that Senator Amaras arrived. So she put a smile on her face, stretched out her arms for a hug, and said "Why, Peter, it's always a pleasure to see you!" in her traditional Charleston accent, the kind that only still exists in the isolated parts of the Santee Delta and among Charleston's wealthy.

"It's been too long, Susanna." Amaras greeted warmly in return, smiling, and briefly enveloping the woman in a light hug. "I don't think we've seen each other since I got in on the other side of the building, a mistake I should have fixed earlier. How have you been?"

"I have been well, though I've been distracted by some personal business that is now dealt with. And you?"

Harrington moved over to close the office door, then gestured for the Senator to sit.

Amaras sat down heavily, and kept his smile broad. "Couldn't be better. Linda Sue and the kids are settling in well, and the progress we've made has been incredible. Can you believe it? Against everything they threw at it, an actual legislative stand against that abominable ruling made it through the Senate. It's a new dawn."

"I am impressed by the progress you have been making, Peter. Things have been slower over in the House. Fortunately, the vitriolic extremists on the other side of the aisle are our party's best friends, politically speaking."

"Or the violent ones." Amaras added, disgusted. "Whatever good they did for passing it, the fight in our own party against people who shouldn't even be in it has only gotten harder now."

Susanna nodded knowingly. "That isn't as large of a problem for us in the House, but I do believe I understand to whom you are referring."

"I hope you can start getting some momentum in the House like she did in the Senate. The party needs a new whip there, and you have some RINOs of your own to deal with."

[Tallahassee News Station]

A huge projector and screen had been set up in the park in Putnam along with speakers to show the debate and Stevenson had lured them in by promising food so that she had a decent-sized crowd before her when she went up to make her speech before the debate.

"Good afternoon everybody, and thank you all for coming to this debate watch and little party for our Carter Roberts!"

"We're all ready to see Carter win tonight just like he won so many times on the court, and why shouldn't he win with the people he is facing? These opponents are not the cream of the crop for politics. You have two people that anyone can tell would make a terrible Senator.

Let's start with Ambassador Singh, who is just a politician to the bone. It's like everything he does is corrupt or for his own good instead of the people's. He broke campaign finance laws to try to worm his way into power and his friend, the corrupt President Winston, rewarded him with a plush appointment where he could get away from helping the American people with their problems. And now when he comes back he is doing more to try to be politically clever and switch between parties with secret deals than working for you. If you want a Senator that puts you second then vote for Singh.

Now Schmidt is better but not by much. He's probably a little more honest but a lot more incompetent. He has no idea what is his doing or how to be a politician. He just sort of smiles and looks pretty and he's not bad looking but he is bad working. The best accomplishment he had was failing with crime so badly that he had to stand by when the Governor fixed it. If you want a Senator that will look nice in a picture and not actually do anything then vote for Schmidt.

But if you want a good Senator that will put you first and work for you then Carter Roberts is the right choice for you. He's a champion and a fighter and a lover of the people and if you send him to go to Washington for you you won't be disappointed." She coughed unintentionally.

"So let's all watch Carter Roberts win tonight and then vote and win him the election! I'm Kristen Stevenson, and I'm proud to endorse him for Senate. I know he'll do the job right, and he'll make us all proud."

Stevenson got some polite applause and got down to play up some of the crowd in person with a plastic smile.

Amaras had appreciated the goad, and its purpose, about as obvious as the image was. He had discussed as much on what was sought with Roberts on the baseball diamond, marking his understanding that his own name was not the most beloved in certain communities, especially, and not coincidentally, the water-bordering ones. When someone like Amaras stepped in, someone of his obvious importance and fame in the political arena, he tended to drown out the local candidate, and Singh and Schmidt both would love for him to do that, wouldn't they? He almost wanted to, almost would, but the debate with Stansky was enough to satiate that desire, for now at the least. Amaras did not have to be only bombast, even if he was so good at it. Amaras, too, could be subtle, and his rise in business and success in driving the rise of the Tea Party was not solely due to his obvious skill out in the open.

It felt good to have his fingers in another pie again, back on the PAC side of things one more time. Some money without disclosure requirements to one of the less abrasive groups he knew, a nasty turnaround fresh in his mind, an overpaid writer on-board, and a rush job to make it happen. Much work in little time, but not too much work, it turned out. After all, they had little need for footage of their own.

The goad had worked indeed, though perhaps not in its intended way, for Singh had slipped. If you waved on a charging bull, it was best to cover your flank, lest you be gored.

An eager Amaras was ready to give him the horns.

Harrington changed tone slightly. "Peter, what brings you to my office today? Something tells me this wasn't a social visit."
