"Fourteen Million actually, we need the money." She responded. Letting out an audible sigh and still grinning, she switched into a less faux tone. "I'm glad you called Ji- James. Its been a very, very long time." She said earnestly. It felt like forever ago, before any of this. Hell, before 'Friends'. She wondered if he really had thought about her all these years and just never felt he could call for fear of... being forgotten? She hoped not.
“It really has...” he said. He sighed. A long time was an understatement at this point. Almost 30 years. Their lives had taken very different paths since he had to leave Palo Alto. He’d always wanted to call, and normally it would have been an option. But with Penelope, it felt like respect to not call. It was something that if he was told to explain, he couldn’t. It was only the desperation of reaching half a decade with nothing but a lot of money and bad habits to show for it that made him finally do what he’d always wanted to.
He continued talking. “It’s been like, a few months. No big deal. It’s not like either of us did much of anything since then.”

Stevenson was still burning inside at the whole scenario with frustration and other feelings, but kept that down for now. "All right. How do you want to do it?"
Carter asked flatly, “When are you going to announce your campaign? I have momentum right now...you could get your start with a solid endorsement.”

Dr. Doug Stephens
@Doc4Montana
I find the discussion in Congress of the President’s mental state bizzare. I have met with him since the shooting, and while grieving, he has shown the utmost composure and self-control.

She laughed in a dated sort of way that she barely recognized herself.
"What an uneventful life I've had." she said to both him and herself in jest. "I saw that you got so bored you decided to run for Congress." she said, suddenly remembering that detail from somewhere. "In Alaska right? Up there with the polar bears and the Ice Road Truckers."
She had been up there twice before, for the Mount Denali event and with Albert to endorse a candidate. It was cold, a very lonely place that had an atmosphere she didn't quite like. She had read in her new position that Alaska was the second worst state in the country when it came to suicides, after Montana. She couldn't help but wonder if he felt alone up there. '
She realized she didn't even know if he was married. Kids?
She thought about asking but kept quiet.

He chuckled. “Yep! And as a Republican even...who would have thought I’d do that? But between you and me, I partially wanted to run because I am so sick of this state. Don’t you dare tell anyone I said that,” he said, laughing. He offered up this half-truth secret as a sort of offering of trust, hoping she would appreciate the honesty.

"I always knew you belonged down here." she responded, laughing back. There was a moment of silence between them for a moment before she spoke again. "California's always going to be home for me you know? Even in D.C. there was a bit of homesickness, just a little bit." She realized it may not be good for her mind to start thinking about life inside the White House, so she shifted the conversation elsewhere.
"How is Mrs. Miles?" She asked, feeling like she already knew no such woman existed. Even back then, she didn't see them getting married, he wasn't the marriage kind of guy. He wasn't a serial philanderer or anything, to her knowledge, but he just had issues with structure, marriage being a chief one.

“She’s great, she’s just sitting here giving me dirty looks as I talk to my ex on the phone,” he remarked. For some reason, he couldn’t completely lose the sarcasm. Emotional vulnerability wasn’t his strong suit. “Nah...I never really got around to that. It always seemed so, adult.”

Take everyone from Massachusetts out and the turnout of this big fancy march is about three people and a dog

"Never got around to being an adult huh? Well, I guess that's where we went our separate ways." she said. She hadn't meant it to come out in the form or fashion that it had, and she hoped to God he wouldn't take it in the way she thought he might. "I just mean..." she started before abandoning it, deciding she would do too much damage trying to repair it. "Anyways. You said you'd want to swing by on the voicemail? Headed to Denver? Why is that?"

"That is probably the smart thing to do." Havich admits. Now that he has to reveal the alternative he stands up from off of the tree and looks around. He does not see anybody but the Agent off in the distance so he comes in very close to whisper being very careful not to accidentally knock over one of the crutches in Kramer's arms.

Buck sets his feet and leans in close to whisper
"Really Alois I thought that you of all people would understand a matter of honor!"
With the last word Buck suddenly lashes out backhanded with a closed fist into Kramer's conveniently turned jaw hitting hard enough to knock the old man over.
