"I would say no. The Republican Party is what is probably the most resilient party in America history. Since 1856 only 1 Republican candidate to my knowledge has ran against the parties nominee after being defeated in the primaries. To me this show how resilient the Grand Old Party truly is.

Cao considered who else could have a shot at making the top-two primary. There was Cox and Palmer.

Palmer was more conservative than Cox, she thought, but Cox definitely had the appearance of bipartisanship. That was a plus, if one was looking to peel away moderate voters.

Kelly may not run, but Cox clearly wants to.

"At the moment they stand in the majority but that is in my opinion more based on the popular vote and that he is still in his first 100 days of his administration than actual public opinion. Also there are two years between now and the national convention as you said before yes the economy might get better but it may equally end up worse, illegal immigration and crime could increase there are numerous factors to take into account."
