Hey Carter, what is your plan for combating Russia, ISIS China... In short what are your immediate foreign policy plans for our country?

ISIS: well, we are at war with them. Americans win wars one way: by going in there with full force and obliterating our opponents.
Russia: most of what Russia does can be talked down. While they don't always line up with our ideological best interests, they are a civilized nation. Not a pure enemy, but not our best friend either. I'd say we take our time with Russia and negotiate deals that allow the US to protect its sovereignty as well as the sovreignty off Russia's neighbors like Ukraine, while also listening to Russia and their concerns with global policy. I'm all about common ground, so if they wanna play nice, we'll play nice too.
China: China is to be watched. They receive all their successes through capitalism, but still claim to be communist. No matter what happens, communists will always be enemies to American freedom. The ball is in China's court. If they become more capitalist and continue to offer their people more individual freedoms, I say we stay the course of action we've been on with them. If they regress into their old communistic ways, as some studies show that they are doing, we must take a different approach, and pull back on our purchases of Chinese goods and services until they give more respect to people's God-given freedoms of religion and free speech.

"Yes, please." Prejean said simply in response to the young man who had welcomed him to Amaras's office. Prejean then glanced down at his watch, hoping he hadn't shown up late and thus holding up Peter Amaras from going about his day.

"Very good, sir." The youth picked up a landline on the corner of the desk.

"Phillip Prejean to see you, Senator."

"Very good, sir, I'll tell him."

The receptionist hung up the phone, and turned to Prejean.

"He is ready to see you, Senator. Through the doors, then right."

"Thank you, I greatly appreciate it. Have yourself a great day." Phillip said with a warm grin before he made his way through as directed. Prior to going through the doors, Phillip paused to straighten out his own suit and cleared his throat while doing so, then making his way through them and turning right as instructed. Afterward, he began to knock on another door that, presumably, would lead to Amaras's particular office. He awaited on the other side for it to be opened.

"Come in." Amaras called from the door's opposite side.

Phillip slowly opened the door, and glanced around to see the assortment of chairs and staff around the room. "Ah, hello folks."

He then slowly looked toward the man whose physical presence dominated attention within the room. "Senator Amaras, it's quite the pleasure to see you again."

"The same to you, Senator." Amaras replied, offering a handshake. "With today's events, we will have much to discuss."

Amaras simply gestured to a nearby seat in response, while settling himself down behind the desk facing it.

Prejean, picking out the empty seat, glanced around at the staff who had already taken their position prior to Prejean's arrival. 'Blasted devil, should've at least brought a suitcase...' He thought to himself as he straightened himself out in his seat.

Phillip stifled an instinctive confused look, and simply smiled instead of correcting the rather obvious error in Fowler's statement.

"Very well, I figured it may be politically advantageous to start with something everyone knows we need to do a better job of - and that's taking care of our veterans. Legal immigration could also use an overhaul, same with our healthcare system. The latter two, of course, can certainly wait till we have our feet wet in the ways of Washington and develop the connections necessary to push major legislation, pertaining to these issues, through Congress. Those are my immediate thoughts, and those are issues I'd imagine we'll find common ground."

"The Military Times recently published a survey of former military members as to why they left the service, 35% said that dissatisfaction with the education of their children was a “significant factor” in the decision to leave. More than half of all active-duty military families live in states with no school choice options at all."

The constant uprooting and relocating that occurs can be rather arduous on families, children in particular, and is usually the case for any detriments that occur in regard to schooling for children of military families. For my family in particular, it was a bit challenging to go to-and-fro the base. There are additional rules and regulation for families to be able to live on government property. Aside from that, it's the same general dysfunctions in our school system for them as it is for any other kid. Now given that this is the case, how would you propose improving school choice for military families?"

"We certainly saw the 'progressives' play their hand today, didn't we?" Amaras started. "The leak on incest, and now a manifesto. A trans-cheering military, total abolishment of rights of conscience, even taking away kids from their parents if they don't follow their radical ideas, all admitted in print. I'm more convinced than ever of how badly what we're working on is needed, before the moral fabric of this country is shredded completely."

"Direct the federal Impact Aid program, which provides additional funding to districts with a military population, to military-connected children themselves, instead of to public school districts."

"Oh i'm well aware if I had my way I would change everything over, but military families is a good start.

Fowler shrugs "Reed is pushing a balanced budget amendment, we need to start thinking now where to spend more money but how to better spend what we already have. I'd love to give them more money in an additional Education Savings Account, I just didn't think it could get done. Even if it does get done when the balanced budget comes around their will be drastic cuts."
