"Oh, I would, uh, appreciate that," Rossi said, then scuffed her shoe against the floor.
"I guess....well, I'm not sure about asking....I don't think that there's any ethical problem but, well, if you know any Senators...the Democrat in Montana maybe...or just anyone...I don't think conversation is anything that's a problem, is it?"

"But, even if it's, well, just a few words, I really do appreciate it."

Feeling the meaning of the outpouring of support, Rossi did not know how to reply to it, save by the common expression, though heartfelt.
"Thank you."
She took and shook the offered hand.

I Taught Dr. Rossi; Here’s Why She’s Perfect for the Supreme Court
Montana Governor Douglas Stephens, J.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Anna Rossi, former U.S. Representative and President Reed’s nominee to the Supreme Court, is a legal scholar of the highest degree, and while an unconventional choice for the Court, she is more than qualified for the position.
It is absurd for those who oppose her nomination to cite her relative youth as a reason to object to her confirmation. As a Supreme Court Justice, her job would be to interpret and apply the Constitution. James Madison was only thirty-five when he wrote the Constitution. Thomas Jefferson was thirty-three when he wrote the Declaration of Independence. Former Justice Joseph Story was thirty-two when he was nominated to the court. None of these remarkable legal scholars had the qualifications and refined educational background that is held by Dr. Rossi.
Our society treats age as a prerequisite for wisdom, only, the equivalency is false. I have seen men older than myself disregard the Constitution and basic human rights. I have seen idiotic decisions from those who have had nearly a century to get “wise”. Dr. Rossi is beyond her years in wisdom, knowledge, and competence.
Not long after my time as President of Montana State University ended, I spent a brief time as a guest lecturer at my alma mater, Harvard University. It was there that I had the great fortune of teaching a young Anna Rossi. The term “prodigy” is one I avoid using for law students, as it implies a natural talent in one’s field, and that is not easy to come by among law students, with the difficulty of the subject matter.
However, I can confidently say that Anna Rossi was a prodigy of the law, and that fact was apparent from the first day of class. A studious, industrious scholar, Dr. Rossi is one of the brightest individuals whom I have had the pleasure of teaching. Beyond that, she is one of the sharpest, most meticulous readers and interpreters of the law that have met. She is an outstanding individual, and I am pleased by President Reed’s choice.
Dr. Rossi is, by no doubt, a reserved person. She is not always the first in the room to speak, nor is she the type to seek fame. She is foremost a listener. Nobody I have met could absorb more information in an hour-long lecture than Anna Rossi.
Listening is the most important skill for a Supreme Court Justice. For hours, the justices listen to oral arguments, asking questions along the way. There is no person more capable of taking information gathered in the courtroom and synthesizing it into a concise, intelligent, Constitutionally-accurate legal opinion than Dr. Rossi.
Dr. Rossi may have had held a political position, but as a jurist, she is as fair and apolitical as they come. She insists on applying the founders’ intent for the Constitution, a value that she has held since her days as a student. Her judicial philosophy is specifically non-political, and will guide her ever decision. She is the furthest thing from a judicial activist, and I am glad to see her afforded this opportunity.
Dr. Rossi holds the values that built our country: liberty, freedom, personal responsibility. These values, embodied in the Constitution, must be defended from authoritarian interests. I’m glad to say that Rossi will be the kind of Justice who will apply the Constitution directly, no ideological strings attached.
I’ll admit, I was discouraged by her Pornography Tax bill, our of fear of a potential First Amendment issue. However, I feel that such a bill was an attempt to work in the interest of her constituency. On the bench, her only interest should be defending the Constitution. I know that in the hearings, we will see that her priorities firmly align with that purpose.
I recommend that the Senate confirm Dr. Anna Louisa Rossi to the Supreme Court. She is truly an exceptional jurist, scholar, and person, and her input in the Supreme Court’s decisions would be invaluable.
For liberty,
Douglas Wayne Stephens, J.D., Ph,D,
Governor of Montana

He stepped out on to the podium, absorbed the faces of the amassed crowd many of which he had seen before. The crowd cheered, allowing him to commence.
" Dear people of New Mexico, the time has come for us to come out of the dark. For too long have we sat by, being ignored and degenerated left to fend for ourselves without any support. Well, the time is near when those worries will go away. When, you will be able to send your children to a school and education system that you value and trust! Your children can not be left to rot, without an education and without a future. This is not the America, I want to live in! The action you have been needing is coming. Together me and the Democratic party, will make a comprehensive education bill covering all of your worries, building a future in which your children can participate in. One which has hope, in it! One which will ensure prosperity! A future which we can all believe in. This has been waiting far too long, you have waited far too long. Our state`s recovery is still a long way off. Yet there`s hope and this is just the start of it!"

"We all know what happened," Amaras replied, "and a terrible scene it was. What we are asking now is who was behind it. My only interest here is the truth. I'd hope the truth isn't that you were the one to bait Miss Villanueva de Peña into the trap you set, but if the truth is that there was no coercion, I suppose that is just how it must be," he finished, manufactured pity in his voice.

Amaras snorted. "How believable, that the tweets were simply innocent, and any organization was just done by opportunity in twenty minutes. Come now. This isn't any time for games. If you and your boyfriend tell me that it was Breckenridge who coerced you into the tweet, organized the attacks, just like you said the first time, I could tell that was truthful testimony. But this yarn? Don't try to pull something like that over on me, it insults both our intelligences."
