Probably would be best if we spent a little less first, but I'd really like to see everyone except the dirt poor pay the same percentage in taxes, and businesses pay less than they do now," said Stephens, deeply interested in the conversation. "What do you think about the real victims in the situation...the middle class and poor who work for the oil and coal companies? Is kicking them to the curb worth saving the environment? Economics is tradeoffs, and the decision our country makes will hurt either way."
"Fighting a deficit, you have three choices. You can restrain spending, you can raise taxes, or you can grow the economy. Trick of it is, you have to do all three. I think you can make some progress by taking out deductions for corporations that let some evade taxes, while some others pay the full thirty-five, and then cut that rate while doing it. The problem I see with trying to make taxes flat is that that means a higher tax on the people in the middle. I don't want to see the tax on most Americans going up any more than it is right now. Raising revenue is something I would take in sin taxes, and the upper brackets. We could push some cuts down the bracket with that as well. A tax like this, it makes for some belt-tightening, that's for sure, but unchecked excess never sounded very conservative to me, and conservation always did. Where some jobs close, other ones are going to be opening up, especially if this economy starts to move again. Down here, we've got sixty percent of our power coming from nuclear plants. Now I am a hesitant man about those plants, I don't know if I would have been pushing them if we were building them now but I suppose they don't care about my hesitation, because I know there are a lot of people working there, and they are making a lot of money doing it. It is hard to deny what you're saying, that economics is tradeoffs. You just have to pick the kind of tradeoffs you can accept."

"Well in that case I can always get worked up more. Especially if alcohol is involved." Jared's grin got wider.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Antitrust Division to examine violations of the Sherman Act of 1890, the Clayton Act of 1914 and the Federal Trade Commission Act of 1914.
Today, the Attorney General ordered the Antitrust Division to examine the financial dealings of Governor Francis Dudley and other potential co- conspirators for violations of the Sherman Act of 1890, the Clayton Act of 1914 and the Federal Trade Commission Act of 1914.
The purpose of antitrust law is to "protect the process of competition for the benefit of consumers, making sure there are strong incentives for businesses to operate efficiently'', this examination will determine if there is any wrongdoing that has taken place by the Governor and his co- conspirators.
The Attorney General added: ''The labour strike itself is legal, that is not the issue here, but there collusion is. Violation of antitrust are an issue that the Department takes very seriously. We will not stand by while the American people are being exploited in this way.''

What do Dudley and the Carbon Tax have in common? They both exploit the American people for financial gain.

Small thumps came from the floor as the short(ish) Asian man walked through the building, being guided by a staff member to his intended destination. Yamada had arranged a meeting with someone he considered an unofficial ally, someone he knew was on the same side, in the same business. Once they reached the door to the office of DA AMAZIN HOOK, he gently tapped on it, letting Don know he had arrived.

Yamada nodded, accepting the handshake. Once that was done, he entered Hook’s office, and sat down. "Ditto, Mr. Hookstraten. Honestly, your office looks much better than mine." He complimented, looking around the room.

Yamada looked up. "It absolutely is. Though it’s not that the office there looks bad, it’s just kept more on the simple side, at least compared to here."
"Anyways, we better get to the whole point of this meeting. The both of us, and our organizations, seem to share similar views regarding Reed and the current political scene. I’ve come here to discuss the possibility of our networks co-operating in a way, to ensure that we can push through a true conservative narrative in this age. With the mainstream media more biased than ever, and Reed barely being a Republican, it seems that populist conservatism may be a dying breed politically." He looked more serious than before, and spoke with some conviction. "We need to do whatever we can to take on those forces acting against us, and to do that, we need a plan. That’s the gist of it."
