One of Buck's staffers comes in with two copies of a quickly typed up report on what they know so far with the basic information available on the rally the speakers and speeches the attack Senator Villanueva de Peña's condition and the statements of the first politicians to respond on Twitter. The staffer then leaves and Buck reads over the copy he was given.

"This is bad. We will have to act on defense with the President for this. I have two ideas for that." he says.

"The first part is distraction." He points at the papers.

"She was attacked by people in the march but also by these people in black masks that definitely sound like something very different. They might have been part of the march or not but if we focus on them and talk about what kind of other group they might be that will make it so that the focus is not on the marchers themselves and is more on figuring out who these people are. They might have nothing to do with LGBT protesters at all."

"But that will not do everything because of the other attackers and the second part is more important. We need to make sure that the point that this is not representative of the community gets across because I think that is the main threat. You need to say that it is like with Noble and say that she was not an example of the NRA and just like that these people are not examples of LGBTs."

The helicopter ride from where Air Force One had touched down at Andrews AFB to the White House had been one for scenery of the human sort. The airborne communications hub that was the President's jet had meant that Cal was briefed on the situation as it occurred, and then received a somewhat closer look in Marine One's flyover, even as the always-cautious security detail and pilot, leery of the attack on the Majority Whip being something more than the rage of attendees and more in line with a targeted assault with more, perhaps, to come, steered clear of the main concentrations. Those who had assembled outside the gates, though, were impossible to miss in the fly-over. The incident was well past temporally, but still making its effects known, as the news had trickled through the blocks that the crowd had packed. Some were leaving in disgust, some in anger, directed differently by each, some few, signs waving, sought to continue their protests, some heartened even by hearing, others milled in confusion, some looked for an escape in fear of the unknown situation that they had become a part of. It was a microcosm of human experience viewed from a rapidly-descending craft, and one that the solemn President mused on as the skids touched down on the well-mowed grass of the Executive Residence. In Cal's limited experience, it seemed as if he never got off of the helicopter without someone coming in to give him some sort of news, nearly exclusively of the bad variety, and this was no different, as a staffer made known to him the emergency meeting his Chief of Staff and Vice President were already at that was waiting for him.


Even as her husband grimly set to another task set before him, the emotional state of Aubrey Reed was trending more and more towards a growing anger, one disjointed entirely from the occurrence of note that had taken place in the streets not far from her house, and much more directed at a rather less noted-on disturbance. The early-afternoon nap for her daughters should not have been too hard of a task, and after an active morning, was looked forward to. The clamor of idiots, in shouts and microphone-enhanced speeches both, rather spoiled each expectation in turn. Mia, gratefully, drifted away smoothly and peacefully. The twins turned to the most piercing screams their still-developing lungs could muster. Finally, after much labor, they were abed and asleep, and a haggard and thoroughly unhappy First Lady was just now making her way down from that upper floor, a stormy mood about her still.

"Mr. President I have to disagree, the power over the budget is firmly under the purview of Congress we must include them. Cutting them out would be a slight on the body and the Congressional Leadership it would kill our political capital and should we not get the budget we want it would be embarrassing to the white house to have to further negotiate with our own party in the light of day."

Not long after leaving from Buck Saga finds exactly who she was looking for when she sees the First Lady coming down. Saga notices the anger and decides to be cautious. She smiles sadly and greets her. "It's good to see you again Aubrey, especially on a day like today."
