Resolution Honoring the memory of the Orlando Nightclub terrorist attack victims:
Overview: This is a Resolution to honor the memories of the victims of the terror attack on the Pulse Orlando Night Club. The terrorist attack killed 49 and wounded 53 innocent people in the horrific attack specifically targeting members of the LGBTQ community. The gunman had pledged his allegiance to ISIS and committed the deadliest mass shooting in the modern history of the United States and the worst terrorist attack since September 11th, 2001.
This resolution honors and thanks the law enforcement professionals of Orlando and Orange County, Florida as well as the FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the other emergency and health care professionals who responded so bravely and skillfully to the attack.
This resolution honors and thanks all those who gave support to the victims of the shooting. Donating blood, supplies and time to support the victims, their families and their loved ones regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sex or sexual orientation.
This resolution honors and thanks the community, local government and organizations that came together in the spirit of unity and respect. Providing support and healing during the attack and its aftermath, then continuing the support since.
Monday, June 12, 2017 will mark one year since the attack, on this day Congress will
Commemorate the victims or the attack and offer heartfelt condolences and sympathies for the families, loved ones and friends of the victims
Honor the survivors of the attack and pledge continued support
Honor and thank the community or Orlando for their unity, compassion and resilience after and during the attack
Honor and thank the brave actions of the law enforcement and counterterrorism officials and their efforts to respond to the attack and prevent future attacks
Honor and thank the people of the United States who stand in the face of terror and hatred, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sex or sexual orientation
Reaffirm the commitment to destroy ISIS and defeat terrorism both home and abroad.
This bill is then honorably presented to The Senate for consideration in order to Commemorate the Pulse Nightclub Terrorist Attack and is backed by Senator Zachary Fowler on January 12th, 2017
