Representative Walsh poses a question.

"Congresswoman, don't you think that instead of shutting everything down on the anniversary of September 11th and echoing the paralysis the country went into on that awful Tuesday, the country should continue to function as normal, showcasing our ability to recover from such tragedies and indicating our resolve in their aftermath? I think that Election Day is a date much more befitting of a federal holiday, as it removes barriers from working-class men and women who would otherwise be unable to vote and highlights the importance of American Democracy."

Smith: “I agree with the sentiment behind that. However, it is my belief that taking the day off on 9/11 would draw people’s attention to the day rather than let it slip from the public conscience. Think Memorial Day vs. the anniversary of Pearl Harbor...which one are you more aware of every year?”

Smith sends a note back
It felt like the right thing to do to commemorate the victims of such a tragedy

Jamie Johnson nodded and sat back down satisfied that he got Smith to help in curbing the excesses of Walmart.

'Jamie Johnson do the writing of the note

Dear Donald,

Let us pass this bill, and introduce a bill later that makes all public holidays mandatory paid vacation time for organizations like Walmart! That will teach evil Ellen Walton.

Regards,
Jamie

Dear Jamie,

Good idea cousin! That will really teach that hag Walton and her stupid Progressive Party something! This bill shall have my vote.

Kindest regards,

Brankers slightly startled, jumped out a little from his chair before regaining his posture.

"Sorry Senator Locklear you startled me a little there. It is what people believe... but how could something so right feel so wrong? I just... feel as if I would be taking the right to choose their representatives from them. I mean if the people of Oregon want to keep Senator Allison who am I to tell them that they can't. But on the other hand I know how out of touch politicians can get after long years in Congress. It is just a difficult decision."

"I completely understand Senator." She began earnestly. "Its something to think about, but I ultimately think that an amendment like this is for the best. Yes, the people of Oregon may elect Senator Allison again and again, but its worth thinking about why he's the only real choice they get in November. Its not because he understands their issues or is particularly inspiring, its because they've become compacent and they feel like its all they know. If we actually make sure that they can get someone into this chamber who represents them, and not an idea or placeholder, then we can change the course of the country for good. And that's something we're all interested in." She explained. "He's going to tell you that its party line to vote against a cleaner, more efficient democracy, but we both know its to save his seat for himself."

"I will take that into consideration Senator," Brankers said with a very slight frown. Waiting until Locklear was a good distance away he turned his head to the elderly Senator standing close to him.

"Senator Allison what can I help you with?"
