The Governor put away her phone, pondering over what Simon had just told her. Unsure of what the next steps could be, she decided to return to the chamber to be an observer. She found herself in a throng of reporters as she left the center, entering the main halls of the capital. Her aides soon flanked her, one breaking off to issue a brief statement.
"The Governor would to state something briefly."
With the reporters quieting down, though some still shouting out questions, she stopped in her path.
"I have been informed that there has been hesitancy by several Senators on whether or not I will allow the United Nations to enforce domestic policies. I would like to clarify that this is not an endorsement for the UN to govern the United States, nor shall I ever endorse this nation losing its sovereignty through this manner, something no Congressional resolution or Presidential decree can change. We are Americans first, following American laws, an attitude I intend to take with me to the UN Headquarters."
She finished, moving through the crowd heading towards the location through which observers entered through. Her aides trailed behind her with the media splitting, some following her and others scampering to report the statement.
