So uhh, dumb question, but what can i actually do now? is there anything important going on that perhaps my character should focus his attention on?

He was the mayor of his hometown, and spread his influence over the state one town at a time. Finally getting elected as a governor, he survived the 2006 oil spill.
He downplayed the effect that a few scandals had on the economy- even though Alaska lost billions. After a disease breakout, he blamed it on his rivals and was re-elected

Right now is the inauguration, which makes for some good timing. The House is not in session but starting tonight is the Inaugural Ball, basically all major politicians invited, and a good first chance to get your guy involved

Born to a middle class family in Fairfax Virginia, Jane came into the world almost silent without much of the wailing and screaming of other newborns. It was a trend that would continue, consistently lacking empathy and approaching life with a detached, cold, demeanor.

She attended Yale University for undergraduate and the University of Virginia Law School and began practicing law. Concerned about social welfare, Morris would play a key role organizing student protests at her universities and upon returning to Virginia managed to work part time for the democratic candidate for governor at the time. She established a relationship and kept in touch over the years often organizing protests and strikes against his political enemies, both democrats and republicans.

Using these connections she landed low level positions with HUD and later the department of labor during the Pallot administration. Afterwards she would move to back home and provide legal support to groups dedicated to fighting homelessness and urban decay. She would also volunteer at the Richmond Public Library, before serving several years on the Richmond City Council.

After a popular stint on the Council she began serving in the Virginia State Senate and has now for 3 terms. During this time Morris developed her relationships, made deals and got a reputation for “combining progressive policies with a commitment to fiscal discipline” becoming a democratic leader in the state and a power player in regional democratic politics. With Bell leaving to serve in the Reed admin she now sees a chance to run for governor of Virginia

No they are able to receive 15k in loans to assist them pay

Main Strengths: Reliable, trusted moderate, elder statesman
Main Weaknesses: Out of touch with growing progressive streak in party, gerrymandered district, lacks Charisma, Has not disclosed his wife has been twice hospitalized for clinical depression

Biography: Born in the suburbs outside Philly to a family of lawyers Baker always approached life with a methodical and tenacious approach. He knew early on he wished to follow his family’s legacy of Law and Service to the state of Pennsylvania. He attended Penn State before pursuing a law degree at University of Pennsylvania Law School.

Upon Graduation he would found a new branch of his family firm specializing in the representation of consumers and small businesses in personal and business litigation. Eventually he would serve as a staffer on the Senate Judiciary Committee in the early 90s.

Returning home to a district populated by Reagan Democrats and Third Way Democrats he would run for the House as a quintessential Conservative Democrat. He was seen as equal parts boring and quirky, know for wearing cowboy boots to help his flat feet. Eventually he developed a reputation as a ‘man of the people’ starting with a speech he gave to the Boy Scouts of America where he managed to tap into the Optimism of American Culture which provided him with an edge over his opponents.

He has served on the House Energy Committee, Appropriations Committee and the Committee on Oversight and Government reform.

Married to Hong Lee Baker, an immigrant from Vietnam who fled the fall of Saigon. They have 3 children and Hong Lee has been twice hospitalized with clinical depression, a fact he has not disclosed. There was an effort to have him run in 2016 for President but declined because he didn’t want anyone looking into his family and discovering he had not disclosed it.
