- Charismatic - A certain charismatic charm, and friendly conversationalist tone infused with his overly optimistic demeanour makes him an immediate, charming centre of attention.
- Prepared - Keen to research, to learn, with a thirst for over planning, depth and detail, it makes him a formidable opponent in a large amount of situations.
- Ambitious - Cut throat politics do not phase his temperament, he has a goal, and his eyes fix firmly on the trophy. He is ambitious, quick to rise in the world of politics and ready to continue to do so.
- Retaliative - Often, situations may arise where it is necessary to retaliate, similarly as often, Baek Hyeon puts little thought into this retaliation, and may have to face the consequences of such a rush to respond.
- Inexperienced - Although quick to rise the ranks, it was purely through prime time and opportunity that he did so, prior to his election as senator, he had little to no involvement in politics and instead worked in the entertainment industry as a producer. It makes him weaker in high pressure situations, and more prone to snap.
- Mediocre Public Speaker - Although charismatic, which can get him out of some situations, his slightly below average English skills, and his flaws when it comes to public speaking, such as stuttering and Freudian slips, his public speeches can sometimes fall below par, despite his efforts in preparation.
During both kindergarten and primary education, he excelled in particular fields and flopped in others, with his English being below average, despite being a proficient linguistic in Korean, and able to write coherently in Hangul. The main area in which he excelled was performance and media, to which he was able to continue on pursuing all the way through his education in South Korea, until he finished his education at the performing arts academy in Seoul, and moved to Vermont, Burlington. He was employed by Universal Studios and would frequently travel around the country on contracts that work would place him on.
By 2011, he had been living in the country for 12 years, and after the same constant life and work, which was thoroughly enjoyable but nonetheless repetitive, Baek Hyeon was hard pressed in which aspect of the world he wished to venture into next. It was here that the potential opportunity to be elected into the countries Senate rose up, through pure chance as he walked past a couple discussing the election. He returned home, sat down, and began to research into the political system. In retrospect, it was something he had wished he had understood prior to moving to the states, so that he could have taken part in elections and been an informed citizen of the country, but that did not matter, what did matter is that an opportunity for change presented itself, and he wanted to take it.
Before running in the 2014 election, he was sure to take some time in the years previously to run some local charity work, along with his girlfriend, as well as attend educational establishments to start appealing to the youth with his ideals. His campaign was heavily reliant on social media, and used the youths influence and that of the general public to sway the vote in his favour. His charity work did not go unnoticed, and he received commendations and local media mentions for his work with the poorest in the local state. He also worked as an adviser in the Democratic Party in Vermont leading up to the election, where he gained his preliminary experience of what a life in politics would be like.
He won the election in 2014, with the majority voting for his role in the House of Representatives, and he vowed to continue to working for the state for as long as was feasibly possible, hinting almost immediately that he would be running again.
Having went to some of the best state schooling systems in the World, coupled with having being raised by a hardcore left wing father, it was no shock that he too would inherit the left wing ideals that is father so openly expressed, as well as seeing the benefits that state controlled education has in East Asia when he was growing up. Healthcare was also state controlled, as was much of public transportation, the concepts of private insurance, healthcare were relatively new to Baek Hyeon, however after conducting research and trying his own hands at how a revised healthcare system could work. he took to his campaign focusing largely on local politics and how local systems could not only be improved, but follow a standard such as that set in Maryland, and then set a revised standard for the rest of the country to one day follow suit in left wing politics and ideals.
Although the election win was sudden and the political times moved far too fast for Baek Hyeon initially, he was able to adjust over time, and continued to use his role to voice his beliefs and opinions to he government, as well as consistently promising his home state that additional work would continue to be done concerning local politics. He utilised his charismatic personality in local interviews to help secure him a second re-election in a tight 2016 race with the Progressives.
Elected in a tight vote once again 16, he remains a Representative for the state of Vermont. Challenges await him.
