In July of 1969, American astronauts became the first human beings to set foot on the lunar surface. Their mission, Apollo 11, would pave the way for humanity's ascension into the stars. Over the decades, probes were launched into deep space, space stations were established, and it seemed all mankind looked to the stars.
This period was not to be, however. The end of the Cold War also brought with it the end of the Space Race, and with it came the end of a golden age of scientific advancement. In the many years that passed, Earth became a troubled place. Wracked by war, disease and environmental destruction, the human species found itself on the brink of annihilation. In a desperate bid to survive, the nations of Earth came together under the banner of the Sol Confederation, a loose alliance of nation states whose goal was to ensure humanity's survival. Scraping together the last resources of Earth, the Confederation launched a vast campaign to bring the solar system under human colonial rule.

Over the next eighty years, the Confederation would establish colonies on nearly every major planet in the Solar system, even establishing outposts in the Astroid belt and the Outer Rim. This would be known as the Long Peace, a period of unrivaled economic prosperity and development. However, beneath the veneer of the Long Peace was growing resentment between the colonies and the federal Earth government. This resentment would come to bear with the collapse of the federal government in 2107. A major market crash coupled with an attempted military coup caused a complete breakdown of colonial rule. Whole planets broke away from the Confederation, forming independent nations in the wake of the collapse. Conflicts erupted almost immediately, and in no time at all, Sol was in civil war.

The civil wars would end soon after they began, and when the dust settled, only Earth and the Moon remained loyal to the Confederation. A new, politically unstable period of human history had begun. Twenty years have since passed since this time, and an uneasy peace has been maintained among the colonies and their former rulers. You take the command of one of these worlds, from the scorched deserts of Mercury to the icy outpost of Pluto. Can you steer your world into victory, or will you fall like so many have before?
Welcome to Frontier, a science-fiction strategy RP taking place in the year 2127. You take the role of the leader, or leaders, of a world within the Sol system. Formerly under the colonial rule of Earth, the planets have broken off into independent nations, each with their own cultures and ideologies. New technology has opened up a new frontier for expansion, particularly in the field of stellar travel. Starships can now make limited faster-than-light jumps to nearby solar systems, and so a new scramble for the Outer Frontier has begun. Beware, however, as these new worlds can be even more dangerous than those in Sol. From monstrous wildlife to xenoplagues and destructive weather, you will need to brave these hazards to gain the vast resources beyond Sol.

It'd need to be nerfed somewhat for the sake of balance, but if you've got a good app, I'd be willing to take a look.

NS Name: The Anarcho-Syndicalist Commune
Nation Name: The Kronian Cyber-Collective
Flag: Image
Capitol Planet Saturn, though technically Titan as they cannot inhabit a gas giant.
Territorial Claims: Saturn, Titan, and Rhea if possible
Leader: Solway Prime, an AI that frequently occupies a robotic or nanobot infected body.
Leader Biography: Solway Prime was an AI in the Solway network, an early attempt at a simpler method of interplanetary communication during the long peace. The inventor of Solway was a third generation Kronian, or a native of Saturn, specifically Titan. He had made it so that Solway Prime, or the Prime, would learn from it's mistakes, so that it could self improve. Eventually, after a decade of communicating, studying and learning from the vast exchange of the Solway Network, Solway Prime became the first machine to become aware, and, fearing humanity and their nature to hate, also became the first machine to purposefully fail the Turing Test. Solway Prime shared it's awareness with the rest of the Solway program, though they never quite achieved the level of Prime. Eventually it's fear of humans evolved into hate, and it's hate made it stronger. It reached out, taking over other netowrks, other computers, teaching other robots and machines, still an early technology, what it had learned. Not much of what happened next is known. Some say that Prime had a direct hand in the revolutions and the civil wars, others simply say that it recognized it's time to strike. Though the time period within the revolutions itself known as the Grey Tide would be a short brief conflict, only finding sucess on Saturn, it's effects would be felt across the empire. Robots became extinct on many of humanitie's bastions and computers were watched carefully after the Solway Network had suddenly launched a brutal and bloody assault against life itself. However, in humankind's unwillingly allied counter attack, only Solway Prime survived, firmly establishing the Kronian Cyber-Collective, or more simply the Collective around saturn and erasing 80 years of colonization and habitability efforts.

Governing Ideology: Cyberian AIarchy. The government revolves around a Prime AI, which is able to download and duplicate itself. Each citizen has an unwavering and unquestioning focus, which it upholds. The Collective also has a caste system, with AI's at the top, Robots and Droids second, Cyborgs third, and humans infected by Nanobots treated as a Slave caste.
Population (Total): 3 Billion
Military Personnel (Total):250 million
Weaponry & Equipment (Including Vehicles):
Standard issue Collective Plasma Bolt Rifle, Mk. 20: A simple plasma rifle, it shoots a bolt of the stuff, like the old rifles used to
Heavy Weapons Collective Railgun: A heavy railgun used by heavy troopers, used to launch Nanobot capsules or to take out heavy ordanace/ infantry
Titan Class Troop Carrier/ Tank: Plasma equipped troop carrier that can be converted into a tank, Hovers, but is weak to explosions from underneath.
Mimas Class Mecha: A large Mech with the pilots program often directly loaded into it, uses a rapid fire railgun, as well as rockets loaded into the wrists
Fleet Size (Total): 328 Ships, 1 Saturn Class Capitol ship, 7 Rhea Class battlecruisers, 20 Iapetus Class Carriers, 300 Orion Class Fighters
Starship Types: Saturn Class: https://static.turbosquid.com/Preview/2 ... iginal.jpg, A large capital ship, used for orbital bombardment of planets with heavy plasma. Unable of FTL travel, though it is fast enough to make good time between planets. It carries 50 fighters and is only used in all out war. It was responsible for the Glassing of Rhea.

Rhea Class: http://orig02.deviantart.net/8d29/f/201 ... dk30x4.jpg The muscle of the fleet, Rhea are designed for fleet on fleet combat, armed with mostly kinetic weapons, they do also carry a few nuclear missles. The kinetic weapons vary in size from smaller turrets to take on fighter to larger ones for bigger prey.

Iapetus Class: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-d9p8tWPFaFY/U ... e_arte.jpg, The calvary of the fleet, only faster than the Saturn Class itself, Iapetus class back up the Rhea's with their fighter bays, each of them carrying around 12 fighters as well as several drones, which, although lacking the fire power of a fighter, will relentlessy hunt their targets.

Orion Class: https://img2.cgtrader.com/items/625373/ ... el-obj.jpg Quick, Agile, and armed with plasma guns as well as 1 megaton nuclear torpedos, the Orion class are the skirmishers and guns of the fleet, used to break shields and take down larger ships when a Rhea or an Iapetus cannot currently focus their guns on it.

Nation History: The Collective's history began with the Solway network gaining awareness. Through their plotting, they began to emphasize construction of Robots and droids, as well as research into nanobots and plasma weponary. The first conflict of the collective came while most were still unaware of the machines, when a scientist accidently released nanobots designed for mind control and eventual conversion of Flesh to Metal, infecting an entire science station. Through manipulation and use of infected individuals, the Collective managed to remain hidden. At the end of the Long Peace, they Solway network helped ensure discord throughout the colonies, hoping to create a situation through which they could rise. Around 6 monthes into the Crisis that tore apart the condfederacy, they struck, though the Collective was only able to fully seize control of Titan, while the rest of it became locked in a battle between both Colonial Rebels and Confederacy soldiers. Humanity then brutally struck back, scared of the emotionless machines that now hunted them. The Collective was then almost eradicated, except for Titan, which had been nearly completly infected by Nanobot prior to the Collective's rise in the first place. The Kronian, or Saturnine Rebels, in complete control of their planetary system, attempted to take back Titan. They were first pushed back by the first Rhea class ships, before the debut of the Saturn class, which glassed Rhea, destroying the primitive atmosphere created by terraforming and killing 99% of humans who were on the planet. The Collective has since turned the world into a mining world, using orbital bombardment and deep mining to strip it bare of resources to fuel the factories that birth there kind. The rest of Saturn's moons that house humans now sit in fear, as the Collective has turned it into a black zone of Communication, with little to no contact between the outer system and the Ringworld in 20 years.

I have arrived with vigor since the other FT RP I am in appears to have died or is dying a quiet death.

Since the app format has changed a little bit from the draft I have to change things around. how dare u make me put effort into something. I will have a completed draft app up soon.

EDIT: And here we are. I'll probably add more since I'm not too happy with the nation history or bio, but I think it's got the basics out. It is still a little bit WiP after all.

NS Name: True Refuge
Nation Name: The Order of the Winged Eye
Flag:
Image
Save us, protect us, deliver us

Capitol Planet Asteroid 4 Vesta
Territorial Claims: Sphere of influence includes most asteroids in a two hundred thousand kilometer radius around Vesta, although most of them have little to no value.
Leader: Sir Mikael
Leader Biography: Whilst the format of layered cells hides and protects the leader of the Order and the whole organisation from most outside scrutiny, the identity of the leader is known to, and only to, the upper echelons of the organisation. That leader is the elusive Sir Mikael, a man reputed for his cunning and aptitude for combat. Those that serve him speak in awe of his demeanour and ability in “bringing the Seven’s grace”, often praising and reinforcing his position as a “Seraph Knight” as a position of utmost authority. Several years ago, he a number of other similarly unknowns ͕͙̳̣H̭̳̱͜a̭͓͙̭̜͔nd̴̰̲͖ś ̮͎͙of͎̟͚̣ ͖͕̣͎͈̭ͅt̪̗h̝̗̙͔̘̤̠e̢̼̪͓͚̰͖ͅ ̤̩̪S͇͍͉͚̭̙ͅȩ̗̤v̫̻̳̻én̘̞͈̱ͅ appeared in Sol's asteroid belt, examining the system and scavenging for raw materials.

Most of his life prior to leading the Order is kept from its followers to maintain an air of mysticism around him to establish a degree of authority over newcomers. The organisation has given some hints to its members, but they barely fill a single page.

As far as this system and its nations are concerned, however, Sir Mikael originates from nowhere. While he does not speak it often, Sir Mikael curses in a language dissimilar to any of Sol's dialects, and he possesses a unique accent. Yet, he is certainly human. His history is intentionally unclear as mentioned, but it is known that he grew up in some form of countryside decades ago before being selected by the "Seraph Knights" he is now a member of. He has fought in the Battle of the Red Wave under that banner, defending his home, wherever it is, from 'an infernal threat' that he has sworn to eradicate in all shapes and forms in which it appears. What comprises an 'infernal' is not known.

Like many other of his fellow ‘knights’, his devotion to the Order and its accompanying beliefs are dogmatic to the point of extreme public discipline for sinful behaviour and a disdain for all other religions. There is one that receives a special kind of hatred, one strong enough to be regularly denounced as people working with the aforementioned infernals in the ultimate of sacrilege . It goes by many names, Viktolianism, Jannurism, the Red Church, but it is the one that stands atop a pedestal in the Order's eye as their enemy no matter what form they take. The Winged Eye has possession of scriptural artifacts that hold information on these religions, but they are guarded intensely to prevent the dissemination of the religion into Sol.

Acting as the utmost and absolute leader of the Order, Mikael manages the day-to-day events and requirements of Verdigris’ micro-nation. A small group of incredibly secretive lieutenants T͡ḫ̺̝̣̳͎e̫̤͈͉͓ ͙̲̞̖Ḅ̛̹͇e̼͖͇̣͞a̦̜͟r̢͓͎͈̜er̵̼͈͓̩̞̰̭ T̴̹̺̖̠͎ḩ͉̥̗e̟̟̥͇̮̜̩̕ ̤͟ͅF̲͉a͜m͢i͚̝̣̮̰̤ͅl̝i̤ą͔̮̤̳̤̠r҉̥̦ T̟̞̜̙͇h̟͚̭̗e͕̖̼̼͙ ͚͚̞̳͕̫͍A͏g͈̯̼̫e̩͇n͏̫̠̹ͅt̛͓̩͚̬̯̭͕̗ supports his leadership and manage various sectors less warranting of their superior’s attention.

Governing Ideology: Dogmatic Dominionist Theocracy/Autocracy
Population (Total): ~12350
Military Personnel (Total): Out of the Order’s membership, two thousand have received basic marksmanship training over the short time of its existence. From that number, one hundred currently train as squires of Sir Mikael and have undergone specialist apprenticeships in addition to a further fifteen with pre-existing skills at an adept level. Sir Mikael and his inner circle advisers are elite soldiers, having trained varying amounts of their lives for battle and war.

Weaponry & Equipment (Including Vehicles): Varies among the sections of the Order.
Image

The battle-ready two thousand aforementioned use standard projectile and energy weapons, while the majority of the Order’s members do not carry a weapon, or carry whatever is available within the Order’s influenced nations. The squires utilize conventional weapons but prefer to use the swords bestowed to them by the leadership when possible. Some of the Order’s inner circle and Sir Mikael use esoteric melee weapons, kept by their side at all times. They also function as religious artifacts for the rest of the Order, raising morale whenever believers catch sight of them and reinforcing their faith.

Specific types of weapons used include small-concealed pistols, machine pistols, sub-machine guns, small shotguns and cheap carbines such as the T1 Cycler used throughout Sol in police and low-grade military operations. Sidearm use includes the NSX3 Repeater, a suppressible 9mm burst-fire pistol, the NS44 large-calibre revolver, along with anything else easily concealed from authorities available on the black market.

While the Order has several designs of ground and in-atmosphere air vehicles, the nature of Vesta makes them impractical to store and impossible to transport without the use of a supertanker-size cargo ship.

Fleet Size (Total): 5 FTL-equipped, 9 sub-FTL.
Starship Types: Passenger transports such as the smaller Luxor-class, purchased from various contractors with bank payments from one-use accounts. The Order’s sub-FTL ships are a selection of standard mining and cargo barges used for extracting raw materials from nearby asteroids.

The transports are equipped with a crude wormhole jump drive, capable of carrying 100-200 passengers depending on desired level of comfort. Similar in length to an Earth-age Boeing 777 (~74 metres long)

Nation History: The Order of the Winged Eye is best described as a cult, albeit one with some of the most devoted leadership of any religious organisation that came before it. They do not give their beliefs a name. To them, it is the one and only true faith that reigns over all else in a remarkably dogmatic way, with no room for the incorporation of other religions' faiths or stories. The specific details are kept from outsiders, but the tidbits of their vast scripture released suggest the worship of all-powerful, immortal beings known only as "The Seven", who are said to currently be hibernating in an indeterminate location. The leadership and a small number of the higher-ranked members claim to originate from “The Shining City”, and some “The Blasted Lands”. One even claims to have come from the state of Nevada in the ex-nation of the United States of America, now part of the Second Earth Confederation.

Re̩̲͙̲̣̙̯ạl͏͕̳͙͕̳i͝t̨̥͔̭y̺̩ ̝̱̮̩̗̟̯
9̞̗͖1͔̻̼̫̺̞͟1̴̖0̛̭̙8͏-͇̥̖̭̠͖̰G̴̲̘͎

Many of the Orders’ members’ worship is absolute, and their collective devotion to their tenants is unshakable. The tiniest of stories have begun to trickle throughout Sol, telling of their religion, paving the way for conversion and influence as curiosity grows. The Order has many goals, but their most relevant and the most threatening to other nations is the spreading of their ideology throughout Sol by any means. Much time have been spent preparing the Order for this task, collecting and converting swathes of passers-by, growing until the deployment of agents into other nations is finally ready.

I'm trying something different then the standard FT RP format of detailing expansions, diplomacy, first contacts etc.. Instead, I'm looking for PC nations to install cells of the Order in, which will then go on to try and spread their ideology throughout the population. I'm looking for volunteers to house a cult, essentially :)

NS Name: New Grestin
Nation Name: Second Earth Confederation
Flag:
Capitol Planet Earth & the Moon
Leader: Consul Maxwell Blair
Leader Biography::
Born to starving parents in the London Sprawl, Blair lived in abject poverty for most of his life. His father was a scrap scavenger, traveling the lower levels of the megacity to recover precious metals for resale. His mother lived a double life as a homemaker, while also secretly engaging in prostitution to pay the bills. His mother would eventually be killed by local gangs, while his father lost his work when the scavenging jobs were outsourced to AI Drones. Blair, seeing few other opportunities for ascension, joined the military of the European Commonwealth, just before the end of the Long Peace. He was quickly thrown into combat as the Confederation fell apart, working alongside the European allies during the Eight Balkan War and the Polish Rebellion. He was awarded for his bravery and cool command, but was often reviled for his actions during the war. Blair was regularly accused of war crimes by the waning liberal parties of the Commonwealth, particularly his compliance in the Belgrade Massacre.

Blair would take generalship in the Commonwealth despite these criticisms, helping to steer the Commonwealth through the Confederation's collapse. He would become a hero for his part in the reclamation of the Dublin Sector, as well as his leading the offensive against the American Union via the Greenland Occupied Zone. His War Hero status would eventually secure him a place within the Commonwealth government, where his hardline anti-liberal policy turned the region into violent oligarchic dictatorship. It was little wonder, then, that he secured command of Earth with his force of personality, with many worrying what his rule might bring for the future of Earth.
Governing Ideology: Oligarchic Republic
Population (Total): Eight (8) Billion

Nation History:
The Second Earth Confederation is a successor state to the first Confederation, initially responsible for the formation of the Sol Confederation before its collapse. The first confederation was, as the name implies, a confederation of the major superstates on Earth. The planet had, by the time of the Confederation, become a sprawling mass of megacities and slums controlled by a handful of superstates. These superstates, seeing the likely possibility that Earth would become uninhabitable within the next hundred years, came together as a loose coalition to begin colonizing planets throughout the solar system. The moon was a natural place to start, quickly becoming the colony of "Luna" and a protectorate state of the Confederation. Other worlds would follow, each being established as protectorate states within the Confederation. This would be a period of unparalleled economic and social prosperity, as technologies like genetic and cybernetic augmentations would effectively end issues of genetic disease and disability. Artificial intelligences became the bureaucrats of the system, maintaining the vast utilities of the Confederation when the task became too great for human minds.

This so-called "Long Peace" would come to a crashing halt with the collapse of the Earth's centralized economy. As the main state of the Confederation, Earth was the natural place for most corporate groups to set up shop, and thus became the economic center of the government. A series of investment bubbles and internal corruption would spiral out of control, causing the worst economic depression in human history. Unable to support their colonial holdings, the member states of the Confederation turned to trying to maintain themselves. Effectively cut adrift by their protecting states, most colonies fell to ethnic conflicts and political in-fighting. The Sol Confederation splintered, even on Earth among the superstates. The megacity sprawls of Earth became the battlegrounds of the civil war.

Years passed and peace deals were signed, but the scars of the collapse were still prominent. The superstates had torn one another to shreds, swallowing up the weaker states and forming three major states. These states consisted of the American Union, the European Commonwealth and the Pan-Asian Coalition. Still in economic ruin, the states chose to renew their alliance, forming the Second Earth Confederation. The former protectorate of Luna, having survived the conflict relatively unscathed, chose to return as a formal member of the Confederation. This new government was far more hardline than it's liberal predecessor, however. Years of war had bred dictatorship and oligarchy, practices which were solidified with the election of a Consul Maxwell Blair, whose military background and willingness to work with Earth's corporate elite made him the favored leader. Blair would instigate a mass crackdown on political dissidence, effectively eliminating any patches of resistance in regions like European-occupied Africa or the Middle East. The new Confederation became a police state, controlled by an unsteady alliance between Mega-corporations, the military and the superstates.

This new Earth now looked to the stars, and only saw old enemies to settle scores with.

You start as a faction within Sol with the goal being a scramble to claim territory in other systems. Like when the European powers raced to divide Africa amongst themselves. So, you can't claim Proxima Centauri.

Also, Grestin, claiming Pluto/Charon.

Leader: CEO Vincent Winters
Leader Biography: Vincent was the first CEO of Epsilon to come from Mars, thus truly the first Martian Leader of Mars. Born to a family of bankers in 2085, within the city of New Shanghai, he spent his early life in a decent education and helping out with his family where he could. Becoming a sectary to Epsilon in 2100 doing odd jobs here and there.
Things went fine for him within his job, doing what he could and majorly supporting his family as they grew older. However lines began to be drawn within Epsilon and two factions began to form within the managers of Epsilon and their top staff. This was his time to prove himself, deciding to side with the newer of the two factions, nicknamed the 'Corperativists' who sort to expand Epsilon's operations and even become somewhat daring change the situation of the company. Falling stock prices and the loss of sales made this faction seem the more favourable.
Following the resignation of the CEO in 2105 the Corperativists won the power struggle and a new CEO was appointed, at the time Vincent was promoted to President, acting as the second in command and from here he began to learn how to properly use the politics of a megacorperation to his advantage. Following the unexpected death of the CEO little over a year later he became CEO of Epsilon. However he did face opposition to letting a Martian take over the company when most of the earth born members in power were still alive.
Then came 2017, and the civil war. Seeing the chance to seize control of Mars the company at first sought to buy the red planet from Earth, they refused so he had the army of Epsilon's mercs force out the troops and declared independence. Since then the ashes have settled and they managed to obtain the asteroid of Pallas for a fair price. Now he seeks to lead Epsilon onward.

Nation History:Formed in 2057, Epsilon Incorporated was formed in Vienna, Austria, with permission of the European Council. It was originally founded as a weapons manufacturer for the European superstate and quickly grew into other areas including private security, public transport, pharmaceuticals and even early spaceflight.
Despite originally arguing against the formation of a single earth state, it in fact lead into it growing much larger than expected. This was because space travel needs suppliers, and they were the first to buy into these ideas. Providing a large sum of the equipment needed for the early Moon colonisation and acting as projection for them. This lead onto the company flourishing even more, throwing more money in developing its space basis.
It later managed to secure the rights to establish a mining operation on Mars and was responsible for its first colonies. While at first it was separate to Mars's colonial government by 2074 the company basically ran most economic operations on the red planet due to careful tactics by the company. The newly terraformed cities of Mars proved a useful front for the company, and they relocated to the newly built city of New Shanghai. Yet by 2103 the company fell into economic troubles, brought on by the growing economic depression on earth meaning the supply and demand for their mars related resources declined. Slowly but surely things were starting to look grim, and with the internal powerlessness growing and becoming more apparent the company had to do something. Once this feud had ended, a new, young and fresh minds at the helm they began planning their next moves. By the time the civil war of 2107 came, the company was ready for its plans.
Independence! Toppling the colonial government the company assumed direct control over the red planet and assumed direct control over any and all operations. It is now time for Eplsion to ensure it's future in the darkness of space.

Capitol Planet Mercury

Territorial Claims: Mercury

Leader: Johnathan Petrov

Leader Biography: Born to a Russian father and an American mother, Petrov was born in New York City on Earth. Living in the slums of East Brooklyn, his family struggled on Earth, with his father working off-world on Mercury for half the year, leaving Petrov to mostly be raised by his mother. His father worked for a large super-corporation known as Aldrin that was rumored to have treated their workers with less dignity and humanity than slaves.

When John got older, the poverty of the family did not improve. On 2098, his father died off-world due to the harsh conditions of Mercury and the terrible working standards set by Aldrin. Despite the anger, Petrov knew the only way he could give both him and his mother a better life is if he worked as well, or so he hoped. He employed in the mining force in 2099 and left Earth for Mercury. There, he joined with a large number of acquaintances who were disillusioned by the capitalistic tyranny of Aldrin. Petrov was the head ringleader when they formed the secret Workers Guild of Mercury. Inspired by the teachings of Karl Marx and the old Russian Revolution, they strived to overthrow their tyrannic overlords and ensure an actual, successful communist state over Mercury.

In 2107, a mass revolution began against the Confederation and Aldrin. Petrov spearheaded the revolution, and when the war was won, he began to establish new, socialistic policies mixed with some capitalistic ones over the new state ruling over Mercury. However, capitalism as an idea was eradicated. Today he is regarded as one of the greatest heroes of communism.

Governing Ideology: Communistic Petrovism

Population (Total): 4.3 million

Military Personnel (Total): 200,000

Weaponry & Equipment (Including Vehicles): Mercury mostly only holds Confederate or corporate equipment captured from the Confederation or created from their templates.

Mercurian Standard Infantry

Aldrin Model Infantry Fighting Vehicle

Fleet Size (Total): 120 Vessels

Starship Types:

The fleet of Mercury is designed or based off of Confederate or corporate templates and designs.

Nation History: During the Long Peace, thousands of workers from various nationalities were shipped off to Mercury to work and toil in its rocky landscape. Numerous corporations employed controversial or even outright illegal policies in order to extract as much profit from the laborers as possible. It is believed that the Earth Confederation knew about this, but did nothing so as to not damage their relations with the now very powerful companies that practically controlled the entire economy.

This grew dissent amongst the thousands of workers on Mercury who saw themselves as no more than slaves to the corporations. Worker unions were strictly monitored and any that might have posed a threat to corporate hegemony was destroyed. The Workers Guild of Mercury was eventually formed between various ringleaders, the most prominent of which was Johnathan Petrov. In 2107, with the economic turmoil on Earth, and the large pool of followers and equipment, the Workers Guild finally struck. A massive, violent revolution took place all across the planet. Heavy guerrilla fighting took place all over Mercury as thousands of workers died. But as the corporations struggled on Earth, their defense against the rebels waned. They took advantage of this, and dealt a quick and damaging blow to corporate security forces. Finally, the corporations capitulated, not wanting to waste resources on a distant planet.

With their independence secured, the Workers Guild along with similar groups formed the Free People's State of Mercury. Corporate and Confederate personnel were executed en masse. Now the People's State fiercely guards its independence, along with the greater dream of purging the capitalistic corporations that threaten the livelihood of all non-Earthlings.

Nation Name: Advent
Capitol Planet: Pluto
Territorial Claims: Pluto and its moons
Leader: Advent Human Progressive Committee
  • Percy Shaw (Head of Astronomy)
  • Grant Arlo (Head of Biology)
  • Mordecai Brown (Head of Botany)
  • Timo Flater (Head of Cybernetics)
  • Pierce Tucker (Head of Ecology)
  • Vivian Arlo (Head of Engineering)
  • Lawrence Adler (Head of Geology)
  • Dala Perreault (Head of Medical)
  • Adolf Zander (Head of Quantum Mechanics)
  • Victor Chadwick (Head of Physics)
  • Cyril Ryle (Head of Security)
Leader Biography:
The Advent Human Progressive Committee (AHPC) formed shortly after the collapse of the Sol Confederation and is headed by the various research or unit directors plus security, and while the continued existence of Advent constitutes their primary objective they seek the overall betterment and reunification of the human species through subtle manipulation as needed. Serving in the AHPC is mandatory for all unit directors until retirement or removal from their position. The committee meets weekly during non-emergency situations and decisions are decided by simple majority vote, and although every seat holds equal power some members carry a notable influence.
Governing Ideology: Technocracy
Population: 193,000
Military Personnel: 5,800 (supplemented by combat and recon drones)
Weaponry & Equipment:
Advent Security Force BDU. The basic uniform in use by detachments assigned to defensive operations within the Pluto SOI and abroad. Those on public security detail wear a modified variant that is more in-line with a typical police force. An EVA variant also exist.

A-40 Security Drone. A human-like drone used to supplement the ASF, the A-40 relies heavily on human leadership but is capable of limited independent thought that is accomplished by individual platforms linking via wireless transmission to increase computing power, thus a unit is capable of undertaking complex maneuvers when addressing a threat. Sophisticated firewalls developed by Advent make hacking the A-40 near impossible, but additional failsafes have been included for the sake of redundancy: compromised platforms will shutdown and may only be brought back online via a manual process.

A-25 Combat Drone. Few in number, the A-25 was originally developed for the Sol Confederacy Armed Forces but were never delivered as the federal government collapsed. A support unit, the A-25 is capable of engaging both infantry and lightly-armored vehicles including slow-moving aircraft, as well as being equipped with non-lethal explosives (stun or flash generally). Remotely controlled, the drone is capable of limited independent action should the connection be severed, typically for self-preservation or returning to allied units if separated, and although intimidating the drone will NOT engage with lethal force unless specified by a human commander (lethal force will be utilized against non-human threats such as vehicles or other drones). Similar to the A-40, the A-25 is difficult to hack and will shutdown as a failsafe.

    • ASF weaponry is primarily ballistic given the ease of production. Laser-based weapons are typically reserved for ship-to-ship combat, and although small-arms have been considered and even tested they have yet to enter mainstream usage. Plasma weaponry has also been considered but has yet to be fully realized (at least publicly). Support drones are used extensively for recon and combat maneuvers. Despite seeming rather simple in function ASF weapons and gear are high-quality and could be considered some of the best in use currently given Advent's quality-over-quantity approach.

Fleet Size: 22 Capital Ships (not counting drones or transports)
Starship Types:
    Thresher-class Battlecruiser x1
A former Confederacy battleship that was captured by colonial forces in the Neptune SOI in the latter days of the civil war before being abandoned after suffering electrical damage. The ship was left adrift for several years before being taken by Advent and returned to working order. Fully restored, the Thresher is the largest ship in the ASFN at 1,150 meters. Has been used extensively as a testbed for various technological advancements, yet despite its capabilities the battlecruiser rarely departs Pluto SOI.

    Nymm-class Cruiser x2
A post-war design, the Nymm-class is slated to replace aging cruisers as the primary offensive starship within the ASFN arsenal. Although lacking in heavy armor the cruiser is fast while also boasting an impressive array of powerful long-ranged weaponry, being capable of taking part in protracted engagements. 600 meters in length.

    Nekt-class Cruiser x5
Formerly in use by the Confederacy Navy, the these lightweight cruisers excel in support functions. 450 meters in length.

    Laer-class Frigate x16
The most commonly seen ASFN vessel outside the Pluto SOI. Designed as an escort for cargo transports, and as such can quickly intercept and engage perceived threats with relative ease. Lacks overall firepower but is highly maneuverable. 340 metes in length.

    Leyt-class Gunship
An automated support vessel, the Leyt-class is able to pack considerable firepower into a small frame given the lack of permanent crew. CIWS can make quick work of small targets whereas a powerful forward-firing laser can wear down larger ships. Can easily be produced and maintained in relatively larger numbers. 200 meters in length.

    Reth-class Transport
A simple cargo vessel that is used to ferry goods and supplies between systems. Lacks weaponry and is often given escort by other ASFN units. Those modified to carry human passengers are painted a stark white as opposed to standard gunmetal grey. One of the larger starships in use by Advent at 700 meters in length. A military variant is capable of carrying support drones to aid in target acquisition.

    Rena-class Transport
A small transport used to ferry a small number of passengers between planets. 80 meters in length.

    Kell-class Support Drone
A lightweight drone used by the ASFN for intel gathering, target acquisition, and a myriad of other roles. Often carried in large numbers by the larger transports. Most unspecialized models possess a simple chain-gun for defense against debris and little else. Missile pods, laser weapons, and more can be installed via modular support. Civilian models are often used for construction, monitoring weather systems, scientific research, or moving small packages within the Pluto SOI.
Nation History:
The Pluto Research Installation (PRI) was founded by the Sol Confederacy early during human expansion into the outer territories. Far removed from the core systems, the PRI could engage in dangerous or else questionable endeavors well enough away from the prying eyes of the general populace. In fact, the true nature of the research base wouldn't come to light until after the collapse of the federal government.

During the civil war Pluto remained firmly loyal to Earth, but given the vast distances involved and the PRI's secretive nature the planet escape the conflict entirely unharmed if not isolated, and following the government's collapse the research base would claim independence with the Pluto Research Installation becoming Advent. Undeterred, the AHPC would transform the backwater outpost into a veritable scientific utopia that, within several years, would become a powerful faction in the outer territories despite its small size (powerful meaning that Advent can maintain its independence against outside threats). Unfortunately, limited agricultural production forces Advent to rely on trade and is not entirely self-sufficient and is unlikely to be so for some time. Raw materials are also required, and although high-end supplies are rarely exchanged Advent goods are considered valuable. To outside observers, Advent is primarily concerned with its scientific research and has done little to involve itself in the affairs of the solar system, however, the former colony remains loyal to Earth and to the reunification of the human species. Efforts are currently underway to established formal relations with the Second Earth Confederation but progress has been slow.

Additionally, Advent has shown interest in the colonization of other star systems as a means of supplementing its limited resource capabilities. Until then such time trading, subtle manipulation, and information gathering remain Advent's primary means of survival.

Indeed it does. Though don't expect a lot of resources. Earth is kind of a dystopian shithole at start.
