Plus, unlike during the wars when Anselm gained its independence, the Wyzkian forces know how to deal with more "modern " tactics like spearmen and crossbows.

The Opalinska family isn't as rich or powerful as it once was, but they are blood related to the oldest noble families for Wyzkia and they are part of that privileged group themselves. Which makes them pretty important in the Seijm.
