Probably
Yes. Yes they do. But knives that can heat themselves to extremely high temperatures, act in a similar function, and survive the experience many times are totally allowed.

PONG Application
Name: Jasper "Ol' Rose-Eye" O'Dullahan
Age: 39, though he says he's 31.
Gender: Male
Appearance: Typically dressed in a purple pinstripe button down shirt and black slacks. He also carries an rather small revolver in a shoulder holster, not to mention the undisclosed number of small blades and lockpicks he seems to "materialize" out of thin air.
Position on the Ship:SmugglerQuartermaster
Skills: Apart from his skill at "acquiring" funds, weapons, ammunition, parts, services and supplies, Mr. O'Dullahan has a knack for finding himself in a pinch, as well as the odd gunfight. It's a good thing then that he's acquired a set of highly-toned combat reflexes, negotiation tactics, hidey-holes and black market goods. Not too mention he's one of the top five quick-draw duelists in the Sol system. That, and no lock will keep him from his "acquisitions."
Equipment:Biography: Born in Mons Olympus, Mars, Wren Corvey was a street urchin within the towering dome-cities that dotted the surface of Mars. Thus he quickly became what was once known as a "cutpurse," a "pickpocket," and if they caught him a "rapscallion" or "scoundrel." Personally, he rather liked the sound of that. "Rapscallion." At thirteen, he and his small corps of street urchins did their first true crime. They robbed a bank with stolen guns. With two causalities, and another guard dead, the legend of Corvey was born. At fifteen, he and his group--the "Duskers," had begun to take control of an entire dome. At seventeen, the underworld of Olympus Mons paid tribute to him, and the bounty on his head was nearing seven digits. At age eighteen, during a massive gunfight between the Duskers and a rival crime family, Wren Corvey was shot in the head, right through the right eye and presumed dead by all parties. His body, however, was never recovered. Four years later, a man named Jasper O'Dullahan, who was missing his right eye, appeared. He stole a Dusker cargo vessel, and set sail for the free ports of Ganymede. There, O'Dullahan began his life as an outlaw and a mercenary. He hired a crew using profits from the stolen cargo his ship--the Rapscallion, was carrying. For seventeen years, Jasper O'Dullahan smuggled in the Sol system. Arms, narcotics, technology, people and other, more legitimate cargo were all home in his hold.
- Geind EL-645 Shettier - The Geind EL-645 is a snub revolver Shettier, produced by Geind Munitions House out of Spana,
Mars. Rather than firing a conventional bullet, Shettiers fire a flechette (a "shett,") by filling the casing with a special resin, which is then pumped with electricity and propels the shett out the barrel thanks to the Lorentz-Oliphant effect. This allows the shett to reach far higher speeds than conventional weapons.- Numerous Blades - Switchblades, punch-knives, combat knives, boot blades and in one instance, a knitting needle. He never seems to be without one. For good reason, he might add.
- Lifetime Supply of Lockpicks - Bobby pins, screwdrivers, blowtorchs (if that can even be called a "lockpick," though he's adamant that it is such a thing,) and actual lockpicks, he seems to materialize them out of thin air. Even though we know that's not true, it's better than actually thinking about where he gets them from.
- Clean-ish Clothes - They're clothes that could probably use a wash. Not too smelly yet.
Jasper O'Dullahan had acquired a hell of a bounty over his nearly two-decade career. It got to such a point that even his own crew began to plot against him. Ol' Rose Eye, as they'd called him and was known to the authorities, was more valuable than any cargo. And so began Jasper's exile. He was tricked into an escape pod, and shot out of the Rapscallion, bye his former first-mate, Henrietta Cortez. He was once again thought dead, and the crew of the Rapscallion claimed the large sum. Of course, with no body to verify this claim, and reports of a man with a rose stitched into his eye-patch surfacing near Mars, Henrietta Cortez and the Rapscallion are on the hunt once more for the elusive rose-eyed man, who may have just found a wonderful escape route.
Personality: A tired man being hunted by former friends, former family, and the most powerful navy in the known universe. He's just at the top of his game right about now. Jasper O'Dullahan is really just tired of the bullshit bad luck that keeps following him around. Perhaps it has something to do with his highly-illegal life choices and infamy? Certainly not. Other than that, the smuggler has a remarkably jovial attitude about his lot in life. He holds a liking for all things valuable-looking and/or shiny. Of course, he also shares a marginal dislike for anyone who lacks a major scar or two. If you don't have one or two big-arsed wounds that could've killed you, you're doing something wrong. He also, really, really likes money.
Theme Song: I'm A Wanted Man - Royal Deluxe
RP Sample: No.

Will the Navi's Gate's interior be similar to the Serenity's as well? (If it is, I found this image that I thought might be helpful just in case anyone's unfamiliar with Firefly.)

To be fair, Alastair is super paranoid, so anyone wanting to go to his room would be met with suspicion.

Pop in, look around, take notes of anything worth noting, and head on to the next room. That's how you check in with everyone, and still have time for a round of Tetris.

I guess if it's a quick, cursory check up that's easily predicable, Alastair won't mind too much. He'd be able to hide everything he thinks should be hidden before she comes in.
