Name: Argilac Durrandon
House: House Durrandon
Age: 55
Gender: Male.
Titles: Storm King, Lord of Storm's End
House Seat: Storm's End
House Sigil: A crowned black stag on a field of gold.
Allegiance paid to: None.
Appearance: Here.
Personality: Argilac is a contradiction; he is a ruthless pragmatist, willing to put aside differences in religion or over issues such as slavery or indeed marry his sole child and heir off for an alliance in order to defeat an enemy or to protect his own kingdom and rule from perceived threats. The one issue he will never compromise over, however, is his pride. If snubbed, or he believes himself or his family to have been snubbed, then he will exact revenge in proportion.
Skills: Argilac is one of the most experienced and bloodied commanders in Westeros; he turned back a Dornish invasion as a boy, fought in the Free Cities with the free companies, defeated the armies of the Reach in the Battle of Summerfield some 20 years ago, and he led the armies of the Stormlands against the tigers of Volantis.
Weaponry: Mace, longbow and lance.
Military Strength: Approximately 30,000 men.
Biography: Argilac was fostered with Lord Caron at Nightsong, on the Dornish Marches, which were and still are prone to raids from their Dornish counterparts. The Marcher Lords, with their strong martial culture, suited Argilac, and he took up their tradition of including the bow alongside the lance as one of the main weapons a noble lord was trained in. It was with the Carons and the other Marcher Lords that Argilac repelled an invasion by their Dornish counterparts as a boy.

He did not return to Storm's End at 16 as expected, and instead, with the second son of Lord Caron, Addam Caron, traveled across to the Free Cities, where they found service in one of the newly-formed free companies in Myr. The pair spend a decade serving with the company, travelling as far east as Essaria where they fought the Dothraki before making their way back to Tyrosh. Argilac learned near-fluent Valyrian during this journey, and made friends with Rachillo Adarys, a Tyroshi merchant prince and his family whom he eventually married the daughter of, Kiera Adarys.

While in Tyrosh Argilac learned that the Reach had invaded the Stormlands, and so he, Kiera and Addam returned back to Westeros, where he led the armies of the Stormlands against the armies of the Reach, defeating them in the Battle of Summerfield. His father died several years later while on campaign against the Ironborn, leaving Argilac to become the next Storm King with Addam named as his Castellan. Kiera went through several miscarriages and stillbirths over the next decade, before eventually dying giving birth to Argella Durrandon. Her body was sent back to Tyrosh, where she was buried, and Argilac never remarried.

When Volantis invaded Tyrosh, it was only natural that Argilac defend his wife's family and city, and so he led the armies of the Stormlands into the Disputed Lands, defeating the Volantines there before returning to the Stormlands, where he has begun to consider how to deal with the pressing issue of the Kings of the Isles and the Rivers before his approaching demise from age.
RP Example: Here.
Notes:
Other RP'd Characters;
- Argella Durrandon, his sole child and heir
-Addam Caron, Castellan of Storm's End

If for nothing else than that the Stormlands of this era extends further north to the mouth of the Wendwater and part of Massey's Hook, I feel it should have more men to call on by at least a few thousand.

To reference another writer's take on it:
There’s no good reason why the Stormlands should be thinly populated, however: while long periods of rain can be bad for some form of crops (especially your less hardy cereals like wheat), in general rainfall is good for agricultural productivity, as the rain-starved Dorne (and the quite rainy but agriculturally productive British Isles) could well attest to. Likewise, the fact that the Stomrlands are known for their natural resources (timber, hardwood, furs can all be found in the Rainwood, but the plains north of Storm’s End are clearly good for cereals (hence Haystack Hall of House Errol), and the waters seem to support many fishing villages) suggests that there’s more than enough food to support human settlements. Thus, there’s no climate-based reason why the Stormlands ought to have a low population density...
Cattle die, kinsmen die, and so shall you die, too. But one thing I know that never dies: the fame of a dead man’s deeds.

Hm, anyone up for having a retainer? Thinking about doing a custom-house Knight with a manor and maybe around only fifty of his own men.

Although you have a valid point I think the main reason Stormlands were thinly populated was due they lords are very warlike people, I mean the Durrandos just years before the Conquest had involved themsleves in campaigns in the disputed lands while during ASOIF books, the reason why Stormlords cannot raise big hosts was due during Robert's Rebellion cost dearly as many soldiers were lost as a result to Robert's early defeats and subsquent Reach invasion on the Stormlands.

Yet again we do not have "detailed" accounts of population census during the Conquest, surely it is better than Robert's time but not that big either.

See what Val said, but he isn't the only one who bans Cuprum from every RP they are the OP of. I can give you some example RPs where I gave Cuprum a chance (two I think).

Well. I suppose I should join this one too, hm? Too bad the last one died.

What houses are needed? Roster's empty and I don't want to step on toes either with reservations over the last five pages.

Do we have an end goal or finishing point for this RP? Or is it open-ended as usual?

I believe we still could use:
Martells
Tullys
Various Crownland/Riverland/Reach/Dorne houses
Hightowers
Greyjoy

I'm probably forgot/missed some

That looks about right.

We do need Dornish Houses, I don't think we have even one.

As far as the Riverlands, we could use Tully, Bracken, Blackwood, or Frey.

Crownlander houses, Darklyn would be nice.

Reachman houses, Hightower, Tarly, or Osgrey (Lords of the Northmarch at the time).

Ironborn houses in general. Anyone of them could be benefit to the RP.

Hoare and Gardener have both been apped. I'll be updating the roster when I get home. Forgot to do that.

I'd like to be a Knight for a house, a master-of-arms, swornsword for a house, or a mercenary captain.

Is anyone looking for any of the aforementioned?
Are all of the aforementioned ideas currently acceptable under this RP's rules?
And am I allowed to be an organization or group instead of a house noble?

Knight, Master-of-arms, and sworn sword are fine. I would say a lot of mercenary companies aren't in Westeros and are in Essos. So you'd have to wait for someone to hire you as there are no major wars at the start of the RP.

Also I'm not sure what you mean by organization or group. There's only a few organizations in Westeros which are the Faith Militant, Silent Sisters and Maesters. The Nights Watch is not playable as they are sworn not interfere with the ongoings of the realm.

Wicked. With that I do think we should have at least all of the Kings, or Princes in the case of Dorne, of Westeros taken care of.

I figured I might as well lend a hand. I believe the following roster includes all apps, accepted and outstanding, though the accepted are on top. Unless I missed something, starting with Lorren the apps are outstanding. I'm pretty sure I got everyone, but if I missed someone, my apologies. Same if I messed up any names/titles.

Name: Meria Martell, Princess of Dorne
House: Nymeros Martell of Sunspear
Age: Roughly eighty years old
Gender: Female
Titles: Princess of Dorne
House Seat: Sunspear
House Sigil: Tenné, a sun-in-splendour gules transfixed by a spear or
Allegiance paid to: No one.
Appearance (Picture appreciated): Princess Meria is around eighty years old, fat, blind, and almost bald.
Personality: Meria Martell is a stridently proud and intensely stubborn woman who embodies the virtues and values of her house.
Skills: Having ruled Dorne for the better part of a century Meria Martell knows her principality better than anyone and she enjoys the support of her vassals, many of which have lived their entire lives during her reign and can only with difficulty fathom a Dorne without her.
Weaponry (If any): None.
Military Strength: The military might of Dorne will much later be speculated to amount to fifty thousand troops. This may be an exaggeration and the military strength of Dorne might more appropriately be assessed as about equal to that of the North or the Vale.
Biography: Meria Martell was born some eighty years ago to Nymeros Nymeros Martell. At the time Nymeros and his older sister Nymeria was locked in a bitter succession struggle for control of Dorne. Nymeria, the elder, had inherited the throne of their father Nymeros III Nymeros Martell, but had largely left rule over Dorne in the unable hands of her paramour Yohn Yronwood whose misrule and nepotism had alienated many of the lords of Dorne.

This struggle came to define the early years of Meria's life. At the time of her birth her father had wrestled control of Sunspear from his sister and ruled as prince of Dorne. Murdered by supporters of Nymeria, Meria and her mother had to flee Sunspear seeking refugee with the Orphans of the Greenwood. For nearly a decade Meria lived with different Orphan families until she was betrayed to Nymeria and apprehended.

Princess Nymeria forced Meria to live as a hostage in Sunspear and arranged a betrothal between her son Morgyn and Meria. When Meria was fourteen she wed her cousin, then twenty one. Two years later the pair deposed and exiled Nymeria and Morgyn became prince of Dorne. He ruled well for five years and he and Meria had several children. Then he died from plague, or poison sent by his mother's agents. Princess Nymeria briefly attempted a return to power but partisans of Meria's thwarted her designs and imprisoned her. Thus began the rule of Meria Nymeros Martell, Princess of Dorne.

Early in her reign Meria was influenced by her second husband Yohn Yronwood but after exerting an increasing degree of independence of the powerful courtier he began to plot for the return of Nymeria. In the fifth year of Meria's reign Yohn Yronwood and Nymeria Nymeros Martell both died during a failed attempt at a coup. Meria now ruled supremely with her son Quentyn Yronwood as lord of Yronwood. The next many years were uneventful. As one of the few surviving members of her house Meria and with her own son as her principal bannerman Meria ruled with little opposition. She busied herself with keeping a watchful eye on her borders, engaging in various limited wars with both the Reach and the especially the Stormlands while pursuing a cautious policy towards the great power of the day, the rising Volantene Empire, establishing warm ties with the weak elephant party of that city and seeking to deter the tiger party from threatening Dornish trade.

The fall of the Volantene Empire, while owing nothing to the neutrality policy pursued by Princess Meria, greatly benefitted Dorne as it opened the stepstones up to Dornish trade. Eager to capitalize on the power vacuum, and prevent her foe Argilac Durrandon from doing the same, Meria married several of her grandchildren to dignitaries from various free cities.
