As I begin writing, there's thirteen minutes left in Excalibur Day (3/19), so here's the wildly overdue explanation that all of you who still remain are owed:

- Last summer (IE the last time I tried to revive ES), I - long story short - ran out of money. There was no particular crisis prompting this except for my own poor decisions, and has since been resolved.
- I had to move back in with my parents on very short notice. This was stressful.
- I had to go get my old job back. This was also very stressful.
- AND, funnily enough, when I got my old job back, I immediately got dumped into a situation where I had to run a copy center, on my own, for about a month. Stress? Brother, you bet.
- So then school started back up. HAH! I got my ass kicked. Administrative Law, brother.
- In addition to classes, I also found myself in the position of actually being an editor for one of the school legal journals. Very fun, and...stressful? A tad.
- I also have to, once AGAIN, get a new law job for the summer, which I'm knee-deep in right now instead of doing Spring Break things. I have a job interview in 10 hours. Stressful.

I want to tell you that, of course, I have always wanted to work on this. But the two roadblocks I kept getting hit with were:
- How could I devote this much time to ES when I have law school and a job? This whole thing started when I was bored and unemployed right after high school. I set myself a pretty high bar.
- And then, even if I found time, I was always confronted with the horrible, gnawing feeling that there were "more productive things I could be doing". I could never actually sit down and write something, and even if I could, I was never happy with it. Not only did it prevent me from writing, I also found myself desperately insecure with the tiny handful of things I was able to put together. None of that ever ended up seeing the light of day.

It's the same old song. I fucked up and I promised stuff I couldn't deliver. The fact you guys are still here is, frankly, mind-boggling in the best possible way, but I legit feel very bad about how many times I've tried to reboot this thing, gotten all your hopes up, and completely failed to do anything with it. I've been avoiding NS as a main result of that.

So here's the upshot.

My overall willingness to do this RP has never flagged for an instant. Given the chance, I would love to run an active, involved Excalibur Squadron RP with you guys, just as much as ever. I have hundreds and hundreds of pages of ideas and sketches and drafts and shit sitting on Google Drive, and I've only barely scratched the surface of what I want to do. But the simple fact remains: I simply do not know, even with my employment search hopefully ending in the next week or two and with summer on the horizon, whether or not I can substantively commit to Excalibur Squadron as a going deal. I just don't know. I desperately WANT to commit to that, but I feel like I can't do that to you guys again.

So that's the deal. I want to get myself in a headspace where I can hang out here and work on stuff and discuss stuff and just hang out like back in the old days (man, remember hanging out?). But in terms of running an active IC - I just cannot commit to that right now. That's not to say it couldn't happen in a few months, or even a few weeks, or even tomorrow, if I really somehow hit on a plan. But I just can't commit to doing a revival after having burned myself so many times. But I prevented my nation from being deleted on purpose. I am not closing Excalibur Squadron, and I really don't see myself ever doing that.

Thank you all, very very much, for keeping this place alive while I've been gone. I hope I can be around more going forward.
