Came off the road three times trying to get to the local highway in order to get to work before giving up and heading back home. Following day I discovered a flat tyre and a damaged wheel, so had to get a new wheel and tyre (hoping it doesn't take too long to arrive).

Been to the hotel he requisitioned as well, the Petwood. As hotels go, it's nothing particularly special. As history goes, it's different class. There's a No. 617 Squadron bar, and above it is the bough of a tree that one of the Lancasters brought home, having clipped it departing Yagodnik, Russia, on the way to bomb Tirpitz.
