The war part of the civil war ended decades ago. But the country was divided. It was like the Korean Peninsula. Mexico has had decades of advancement as well as two different countries that were at each other's throats but not at war. The unification was 2 years ago and that's still being sorted out but the country isn't in wartorn.

The divisions within the nation have largely been moved to the Imperial Court as opposed to the streets and has resulted in politcking and power-playing between essentially two factions:

1) the Imperial Old Guard: The nobles, officials and generals who served the Empire during the reign of Emperor Juan-Carlos I (reigned: 2020-2052), and have a deep ingrained distrust of the Cartel Appointees. This faction is largely led by Empress Mother Isabella, the mother of Juan-Carlos II and widow of Juan-Carlos I. She is an old woman with little political power but much behind the scenes influence (I'll be developing her as a character and a political force in coming posts). This elite coterie has its roots in the billionaire and politician class of pre-Fateful Day Mexico.

2) the Cartel Appointees: These nobles, officials and generals rose to prominence after the Peace was established in 2062. They're fairly new to power and have not all handled their positions with the gravitas expected of them. This group is roughly equal in power and influence to the other. This faction is led by the three individuals of the Triumvirate, but especially by Prime Minister Salinas at Court. This political faction has its roots in the Cartels of the previous era.

Emperor Juan-Carlos II (reign: 2052-???) is on neither side and both sides are striving to influence his policies and dethrone the other. Frankly, though, both sides realize that a return to the previous state of Civil War is undesirable, and so they prefer political battles in the Imperial Court to War. Emperor Juan-Carlos II is sort of playing both sides and attempting to keep both sides happy. Chances are this period of political transition in which both of these factions battle each other for political currency and influence will be ongoing behind the scenes for years to come. That, as I understand it, is my political analysis of Mexico in 2064. Pimps, is there anything you want to add?

That is an incredible description of what the country's government looks like in this RP. Funny because I'm in the middle of rewatching Game of Thrones. But now, we have a bit of a problem. There's a new Communist Party of Mexico that was accepted(I believe) with 1.5 million members supporting it. I would say give them Sonora if their numbers aren't reduced to prevent any war. The Texans and Cascadia are supporting them so we may have to move to the Telegrams to plan our next courses of action and let each other know our plans.
