The USA was said to exist forever, but it wouldn't do so as others say.

The USA was a state thought to last forever, but the inevitable happened in the 21st century.

In 2018, Donald Trump was jointly impeached by the US Congress and the US Supreme Court. The Congress then choose a Democrat named Vincent Salvatore to be the acting President. He ruled the US for a better future and right the wrongs done by Trump. However, the alt-right supporters of Trump weren't happy and began revolting like a bunch of psychotic neo-Nazis. In 2020, the US military under alt-right General Ronald Winchester led a coup against the government and set up a junta called the "Military Committee for National Reconstruction" (MCNR). However, it was very unpopular and hated. Soon, the US were shredded to pieces by fightings between the new military government and unsatisfied people. The US were eventually split into states and soon the UN had to be relocated to Europe. Religions, political ideologies, economic ideologies and ethnic groups soon clashes in what was once the US. The clashes would then reach rest of North America with some states falling and terrorism running free. However, in the following years, law was restored under the nations that rose up from the former US. Yet, these nations still hates each others and some are technically totalitarian with laws ranging from communist to full-out racist. A few ethnicities and religions are persecuted while most are dominant.

The year is now 2064, 44 years since the "Fateful Day", the day the US fell. You are in control of a nation (either inside or outside former USA) or an organization (corporate or rebel) seeking fortune and control in North America. North America is the one and only setting here, so don't be in Europe, Asia, Oceania, South America or Africa.

I'm not sure if anyone has brought this up before me but that is not actually how the US Government works. When the President is Impeached, he is charged with some form of a crime. He is NOT removed from office and is NOT replaced by a third party. If Trump were impeached, he would be tried by Congress and, if convicted, would be removed and replaced by Vice President Mike Pence. There have been two such actions in US History, once against Andrew Jackson and again against Bill Clinton. Other than that, and the fact that a situation like this is kinda difficult to see happening, this is an interesting concept and I might apply at some point. It just doesn't look like anything useful is open.
