In 1991 the Soviet Union ended. However it did not collapse and break apart. Instead the Union became one united Russian Federation. United Russia remained a super power however because of the defeat of Communism relations with the rest of the world became better. This world is different from the one we know today. Russia joined the EU in 1995 and is one of its main members to this day with the largest economy in the EU and Europe (6.611 trillion- I did the math.) It is also the largest EU member in terms of population with 300 million people. Russia also fully joined NATO in 1995 (which it was set to do irl.) This led to the real "boogeyman" in the international sphere as China. In 2014 China annexed Nepal sparking international outcry and sanctions from the international community however most were light and had very little impact on any economy. So this is the world we are in today. Russia the defacto leader of Europe. The US and Russia friends. And China the guy everyone blames. North Korea is still a big threat as well as ISIS in the Middle East. And it's up to us to stop them.
