There is no war, but now there is a mutual assured destruction if either Lethe or Discord go too far. The Diamond Dogs should have a fighting chance now, if King Letum agrees to Discord's terms.

The Diamond Dogs will have to fight, but it should not be another continent-wide war.

Well, I can already think of a quick, simple, and easy solution: You could actually change what YOUR characters do for once, instead of demanding that I change mine. I've had you berate what I post over and over and over again, constantly complaining about everything I write and demanding that I change it. Pretty much every single time I've ever posted in the IC, I've had you go on and on and on about how you hate what I'm writing and think that I should write something completely different for the sole purpose of accommodating what you want.

Even when it has nothing to do with your characters, you complain endlessly. The Diamondgrad plot was between me, Turmenista, and, now, Nocturniica, and all three of us have been absolutely, 100% fine with having a war with the diamond dogs. They're Turmenista's characters, so, by all rights, he should be able to decide what happens to them, but you just can't stand the sight of a conflict, and here you are demanding that I cancel months worth of plans (that had been accepted by everybody here) regardless of what Turmenista wants, regardless of what I want, regardless of what anyone else wants.

This has been a recurring theme throughout this whole thread; you've been endlessly attacking my work, and demanding that I change it, even going so far as to threaten to leave if I don't. It really hasn't been giving a lot of motivation for me to post; in fact, your attitude has been actively sapping my motivation to keep posting, to the point where I barely want to continue anymore. Nobody else has had a problem with the plots I've been writing; nobody else has asked me to change it. You are, so far, the only person who objects to my conflicts. Why can't you change what your characters do for once, or just let other people enjoy writing a conflict without demanding that they end it?

It's very rare that I complain about another person's behavior, but I feel like I don't have much of a choice here. Flutterlands' attitude has been completely draining my desire to participate for weeks now; it's been entirely unwelcome, and all it's done is make me want to use my time to do something else. He has telegrammed me, or posted here, after almost every single IC post I've made, complaining about my writing, and it's never once been anything constructive; all it's ever been is him telling me about how much he hates having conflict in a story and him insisting that I wave a magic wand and turn everything into peace and harmony. Just early today, out of absolutely nowhere, he sent me a series of telegrams demanding that I cancel the Diamondgrad plot because his characters would start a big war over it and he doesn't want war. I was in the middle of writing a response to Nocturniica; it was a rare occasion, when I actually had both the time and motivation to post. I completely lost the motivation to keep writing after hearing him; something that has happened on more than one occasion in the past.

"I don't want this war, FRE, finish this with Discord and be done with it please..."

Hmmm... now that Discord is involved, perhaps Celestia and Equestria don't have to do anything. If Letum steps too far, Discord will counter him, and vice-versa. The Dogs will not be overpowered, and should be able to survive on their own, and attend the upcoming summit.

When you say "Celestial," do you include those companies that are incorporated in Equestria but nonetheless do business in Lethe directly, or are you also talking about those companies that, though formally incorporated as Lethean companies, have Equestrian parents? And if the former, does the All-Maker intend to seize the assets located in Equestria, or do you just limit yourself to those assets physically in Equestria? (Unless for some reason Lethe doesn't really have an incorporation system, Long Prospect is operating under Foal Mountain Mining Co.'s Lethean subsidiary.)

There have been several real-life instances of Latin American nations nationalizing the assets of US companies (Mexico and Venezuela come to mind), and it never led to war with the US. There's also been at least one instance of American citizens being arrested on the sole basis of their nationality (the Iranian hostage crisis in particular, which was the inspiration for Lethe's actions), and it didn't lead to war, either.

Anyhow, when I say "Celestial", I suppose all companies/agencies that are either based in the Principality, are a subsidiary of another business that is based in the Principality, or are owned by citizens of the Principality would be included. I didn't really think I would need to clarify which companies would be nationalized; I suppose all of them would be. And, no, of course assets located in the Principality itself wouldn't be taken; it would just be the ones within the borders of the KoL. After all, that's the whole point of nationalization; to expropriate foreign industries within your country, not to march into their country and take over their stuff.

well, now that Discord said his peace, the Dogs should have a fighting chance to defend themselves. He's asked King Letum to make his army equal to, and not larger than, the Diamond Dogs' forces, and give them all the same weapons.

It should turn out in the Dogs' favor, I hope.

Not really. But note that Twilight has written a letter to Celestia as part of her plan to facilitate a smooth Summit, informing her about the demand she put on Lethe and persuading her not to make any public statements supporting Lethe or Diamondgrad until the end of the Summit.
