You could always say they got a telegram about something, like the Diamondgrad thing, or just show them in a "normal" setting, displaying how they are in day-to-day life, and what they deal with regularly.

Or, you could start off with a big political upheaval or an international incident; the illustrious Mayor taking steps to centralize the Confederation or give himself dictatorial powers could be a good idea.

1. Name: Major General Rainbow Dash


Backstory notes:

During the war, Rainbow Dash was drafted into the Wonderbolts and quickly became one of their best fliers, taking part in several battles including the final battle at Manehatten. The Wonderbolts weren't just a handful of fancy fliers, but had grown into the tough branch of the military that they were founded to be. Many knew that she had saved the world several times before, and even before she started they respected her. Hence, as she displayed her toughness in battle, she quickly climbed the ranks.Sadly, she watched many of her new friends die, and the war made her much more serious than she was before.

Over the past ten years she has grown in her abilities and renown, fighting in and overseeing many skirmishes through the years.

Currently, she's been married to Soarin for six years, and not only is she the head of the Wonderbolts, but she also is in charge of the head of a division of covert operatives stationed in various places in Equestria and the Kingdom of Lethe to ensure that if any threats to Equestria are proposed, She will know and be able to immediately report back to Celestia. She was chosen for this job because the higher-ups knew that she would NOT betray them.

(Of course, the Wonderbolts are not the entire air force--they are merely the highly skilled and specialized fliers known for various maneuvers that are hard to learn, even for Pegasi, hence she is not the leader of the ENTIRE air force.Nevertheless, she has great renown and military prowess for being the Element of Loyalty and being such a skilled flier.)


10. How do you foresee your character contributing to the RP? Be specific, but don’t give away too much.
Well, She will be the one finding out a lot of military information and getting it back to Equestria, so Celestia, Luna and Twilight will have somepony who knows things that they would otherwise not know yet, and be able to tell them that information. In other words, she'll probably be mainly a messenger, but if there are any major battles she will also be a part of it.

Although I think that "Testing, Testing, 1, 2, 3" implied that the Wonderbolts were formed as a mere sideshow to the Protective Pony Platoons, I think this is a point that has room for reasonable interpretation. Accepted.

Celestia sighed angerly. Lethe continues to ever be the thorn in her side and she wished that it could just leave the other countries alone.

Diamondgrad isn't exactly another country; it's an unrecognized separatist state claiming Lethe's officially recognized territory. Lethe isn't really in the wrong for responding with military force to people trying to annex their land.
