I don't want a Great War unless we can mix it up with my Dark Magic plot and Equestrian Reunification. Everything must end with Equestrian Reunification and Changeling equality regardless of what happens.

Another plot I've had in mind was the finding of a hidden Snow Changeling hive that holds a whole bunch of Changelings in a thousand year hibernation including a very angry queen.

We must bring Fren into this discussion before we move further. I don't like the idea of you mindlessly killings Changelings whole nilly like you do.

Personally, I don't care about build up or any of that in this discussion. I just don't want you killing Changelings outside of Lethe. So at the moment, no treaty no deal.

TOV TRIES to kill the Sand-Changelings, but Discord steps in and teleports all Sand Changelings far away to... .say.. .a Desert in... Ippeia. That would save the Sand-Changelings while establishing how serious the All-Maker is about killing off Changelings, and also find a way to bring in the nation of Ippeia and its characters into the plot.

Everyone goes home safe and happy.

Discord (and yes, I know you control him) doesn't care about anyone but himself and Fluttershy. We'd have to find a particularly compelling reason for him to suddenly care about changelings.

I agree that it would make a lot of sense to have superweapons of some kind create an artificial peace. Instead of conventional weapons, though, maybe something magical would fit the setting a bit better. Perhaps Celestia could discover the magic artifact that serves as the All-Maker's secret weakness, and that could be her ace in the hole against Lethe, and the All-Maker could invent some sort of magical super-spell which could wreak devastation against his enemies, and that could be his source of leverage against Celestia.

And neither do I. But I really don't have any opinions on how to move forward at the moment; so far all of the ideas seem fair short of a Great War.

I'll admit, as much as I said last time that we needed more structure, I didn't really know how to provide structure.

Well... Fluttershy (who was a war-nurse and as such will most likely do anything within her power to stop a war) can present a compelling case...

Ok, you and FRE need to calm down. I can have Fluttershy convince Discord to at least avoid an outright massacre of the Sand Changelings, that should help delay such drastic measures at least...

And I'm fairly sure that FRE won't start killing Changelings outside Lethe in a full-blown manner unless a war breaks out first... I might be wrong though

We've talked about the changeling situation so many times already, both in this thread and in the last one. When we were writing the epilogue for the last RP, I thought we had agreed that happy endings can not materialize out of thin air; there needs to be a reason for it.

I didn't even do anything drastic with my post this time; all I did was have the All-Maker say he'll start giving people money to kill changelings. It's not like there's going to be millions of dead changelings all around the world; there would just be a bit of an increase in the already-existing violence. Killing the sand-changelings would be a huge act of genocide, but like I declared, that campaign is going to be interrupted because of the diamond dog issue (I only put it in my post for the sake of continuity, because I already established in the last RP that the rebels were making plans to attack them); so, the only new thing that's happened so far is the All-Maker continuing to tell his followers to kill changelings, something he's already done before, and him placing bounties on changelings to encourage more violence against them.

I just don't understand what the big deal is here. I think you might be massively exaggerating the extent to which changelings are being killed; maybe that's the issue. Well, let me clear it up for for; there aren't death squads roaming around Equestria killing hundreds of thousands of changelings in every city. The only thing I've done is say that the All-Maker will give cash rewards to people who perpetrate murder against changelings, as opposed to having huge acts of genocide be perpetrated which you seem to believe I'm doing. There's no need to cancel the RP over such a trivial little detail; you've misunderstood what I've wrote, I'm certain.

Politicians, diplomats, military officers, business leaders, intellectuals, celebrities, activists--anyone with political, military, economic, or cultural influence works well here.

I'd be interested in seeing the Mayor of Manehattan or Fillydelphia come into play--the Northeast Confederation has been a bit neglected. And I like seeing people apply for canon characters too.

Another anti-changeling political figure would certainly be a nice addition; at the moment, I believe I'm the only one who controls an anti-changeling leader. Flutterlands, Frenequesta, and Nocturniica all control pro or semi-pro-changeling leaders, whereas the anti-changeling folk are represented solely by yours truly. A second person to represent characters from that political camp would help balance things out a little; the leader of Manehattan would be a great choice for doing so, as they are one of the three major anti-changeling powers.

6. Appearance: A hulking beige stallion with a long black mane. A lifetime of farm work has given him a large, imposing physique. Despite this, he has very soft, kindly facial features. His eyes are a mint green color.
7. Cutie mark: A sheet of rocks broken down into rubble in the shape of a heart.
8. Bio (two paragraphs minimum): Caring Heart enjoyed a sublime childhood on a rock farm located outside of Manehatten. His parents were simple ponies, and raised young Caring on the tenets of honesty and kindness. However, growing up, Caring Heart often found it difficult befriending other foals due to his large size. His schoolmates found him intimidating, and steered clear of Caring. Although, Caring didn't mind. He found solace in the quiet, and dedicated himself to his farm work.

He was a young stallion at the ripe age of twenty-three when the Changelings invaded Equestria. For a pony raised in the tranquil meadows of Equestria for the whole of his life, the concept of war was a foreign and frightening idea, even for the grown stallion. As the Changelings occupied Manehatten, Caring fled with his ageing mother and father away from the city. For a long time, they were forced to travel from village to village, city to city, supported by the now massive Caring performing menial odd jobs, usually involving hard labor. Though he was a stallion raised on love, he had learned to hate the changelings.

Caring did not return to Manehatten until the battle that took place there. Though Caring never took up arms against the Changelings, he was actively involved in the supporting the soldiers and the aftermath of the battle. He made ample use of his strength and size clearing rubble and carrying the wounded to safety, oftentimes in the midst of the fighting. Although he received no formal commendation for his actions, the locals of Manehatten knew him for hero.

Years later, Caring used this hero status and his sense of honesty to run for Mayor of a now independent Manehatten, a major part of the Northeast Confederation. In the interim between his campaign for mayor and peace across Equestria, Caring rebuilt his family's farm after it had been razed in the Changeling occupation. His parents, now retired, live there comfortable. Caring Heart won the bid for mayor with a strong anti-Changeling platform and his honest, homegrown values. This was done with the help of recent friend, campaign manager, and now his most trusted aide and advisor, Fortune.
9. Personality: Caring is a stallion of few words with a very deep sense of empathy for his fellow ponies. A kind, gentle soul. War and conflict disgust him... Unless it's waged against the Changeling menace.

6. Appearance: An able-bodied fit young mare. Her gradient coat is a polished, sterling silver color, and her short mane a pastel gold. Her eyes are a bright ruby color.

8. Bio (two paragraphs minimum): Gilded Fortune was born in the Crystal Empire, the child of a gemstone miner and a clerk at a cheap jewelry store. Fortune was a mischievous foal, often getting into trouble alongside her friends. For this reason, she earned her nickname, 'Miss Fortune', as things often went missing when she turned up around the neighborhood. Despite her troublesome nature, Gilded proved to be cute a smart filly in school, though her accomplishments in the classroom were overshadowed by her sticky hooves and smart mouth.

Gilded outright dropped out of school as she became a young mare and took up the life of a street grifter. It was around this time that the Changelings decided to undertake their attack on Equestria. In the wake of the war and occupation of some parts of Equestria, Gilded relocated down into the Equestrian Heartland with a scheme to make some quick bits off of the chaos. Cashing in on the paranoia of many ponies, Gilded manufactured 'changeling detection charms', which were merely cheap rhinestone jewelry.

She received her comeuppance when she made her way to Manehatten in order to sell stolen shipments of chocolate and other valuable wartime commodities to the soldiers. Gilded was trapped under a collapsed wall during one attack, and was summarily saved by Caring Heart, who managed to lift the concrete rubble off of her. The two became fast friends as Gilded was big talker and Caring was a fantastic listener in the field hospitals of Manehatten.

Years later, as Caring made his campaign for mare, Gilded cleaned herself and set her sharp mind and social skills to getting her good friend elected. Now, with him acting as Mayor, Gilded has become his mouthpiece. She handles his press releases, acts as his sole 'diplomat', makes deals, attends meetings in his place, and more.
9. Personality: Unlike her friend, Gilded is far from the honest sort. She is a smooth talker with a specialty for acquiring bits, although it is usually through dishonest means. Her loyalties lay not in Manehatten or the Confederation, but in Caring Heart and his vision. Using her skills as a lifetime grifter and criminal, she works to make his vision of a better Confederation happen... Through means he would most definitely disapprove of.

You could always say they got a telegram about something, like the Diamondgrad thing, or just show them in a "normal" setting, displaying how they are in day-to-day life, and what they deal with regularly.
