National Goals : Reunification of Germany, Creation of Mitteleuropa, Defeat of Communism

History : After the disastrous Great War Germany was thrown into chaos by the Treaty of Versailles with Left-Wing parties and organizations seeing the chaos as a perfect opportunity to seize power. Storming the seat of power in the weakened German nation of Berlin the traitorous Communists began a revolution that threatened to engulf the entire nation...and potentially all of Europe. Thankfully the French military intervened, forcing the Communists to concede most of their territory and be forced into the Eastern portions of Germany where they began working with the UESR as the German People's Republic. To the west however another fate was to be had, forming the Federal Republic of Germany the West Germans originally started as mere puppets of the French. However as time went by they were granted more and more freedoms by the French who sought to use them as a buffer state.

In 1936 the final chain of France on Germany ended when German troops crossed into the Rhineland and liberated the territory without firing a shot at the occupying French troops who withdrew peacefully in the face of advancing German forces. It was clear now that Germany was no longer a puppet to the West, but a buffer, and so when the Austrians voted to integrate with Germany and the Anschluss took place it came as no surprise that despite once again violating the Treaty of Versailles there was no response by the Western Allies. Inside Germany these victories helped revitalize a nationalistic spirit within the German people, a spirit of Civic Nationalism that sought a total reunification of German lands that had been lost to the Communists to the East as well as the end of the threat of said Communists. To achieve this the German people elected a coalition government of right-wing parties, notably the Christian Democrats Party (led by Max Hoffman), the Order of Justice Party (led by Jonas Wechsler), and finally the German Freedom Party (led by Adolf Horn) with support by a non-coalition Fascist party, the National Socialist German Workers' Party (led by Adolf Hitler), which helped drum up popular support for the "Freedom and Justice" Coalition in return for some special attention from the Coalition in terms of government positions and policies. The Coalition and its ally has ruled nearly unopposed since 1932, and since then has created a stronger German Government, banned Left-Wing parties, jailed Left-Wing activists, and re-militarized the nation as well as seen a boom of the German economy thanks to various authoritarian practices.

Today, 1939, the Coalition and the NSDAP stand nearly unopposed politically, hold overwhelming popular support in Germany, and control an every increasingly powerful Wehrmacht. With conscription in place the German government prepares for war, a nearly 4 million strong force of men readies itself for war against the Eastern Barbarians, and calls for reunification at any cost grow louder and louder. With a clear determination within the Government to eradicate the communists once and for all the German people have fallen in line as jingoistic emotions begin to once again surface in Germany.

Hey so, reading the IC I see mentions to the T-34/85...but that wasn't invented until 1943 with the inferior D-5T gun and 1944 for the ZiS gun. Also the base T-34 with a 76mm gun wasn't mass produced until 1941...and it only was produced beginning in 1940 with 400 units of the 1940 Model.

Anyway, my question is, are we not going by historical production times for vehicles? Because if not at least then I can argument my IC posts with later equipment.

Full Organization Name : Prima Intelligentsia (PI or π)
Type of Organization : Secret Society
Flag / Symbols:

Official Economic Ideology : Technocratic Republicanism
Official Political Ideology : Classic Liberalism
Head of Organization : Doctor Kirill "Mantrid" Lazarov
Other Important Individuals :
Nikolay Semyonov
Wladimir Köppen
Pyotr Kapitsa
Vladimir Vernadsky
Pavel Sukhoi
Sergei Ilyushin
Alexander Samokhvalov
Werner Heisenburg
-Prominent Initiates:
Dmitri Shostakovich
Alexander Prokhorov
Olexander Smakula
Pavel Cherenkov
Igor Kurchatov
Lev Landau
Nikolai Polikarpov

Territory : None, but the various laboratories and secret dens of Eurasian Scientific and Academic Institutes (Most prominent: Eurasian Soviet Science Academies at Moscow and Leningrad) are home to the π's Operations.
Territorial Ambitions : All institutions of the Intelligentsia within the Communist Bloc
Capital City : None, but operations centered in Moscow and Leningrad
Population : N/A
Membership : 300 (200 Initiates, 100 Sworn Brothers and Sisters)

Economic Description : π's membership is mostly made out of affluent, elitist intellectuals that weren't subject to purging from the Eurasian Soviet Government. They typically smuggle in various illegal texts, scientific reports, and books to run their operations.

Military Description
The only form of militarism the intelligentsia has is it's small network of Hitmen that it hires to carry out assassinations. Furthermore, some members, most especially sworn brothers, carry specially made and modified weapons by their side to defend themselves. They tend to be defensive, and always resort to diplomacy before armed confrontation.

Organization Goals :
To secretly undermine the tyranny of Communism within the Eurasian Bloc through spreading information and dissidence among the population, starting with the intelligentsia. In other words, to crush Communism from within.

History :

Immediately after the overthrow of the Soviet Union, much of the Soviet Intelligentsia either ran away from fear of getting killed, or stood their ground with pardons from the Soviet Government. Under condition that they will keep their mouths shut and live by the rules, most of the remaining intelligentsia were silent and carried on their state-mandated tasks of Scientific Advancement. Despite contributing to the Sciences in many ways for the Union, many members of the intelligentsia grew more frustrated against the inflexibility of the Communist Government when it came to mandating scientific research. Most research that requires significant government support was either neglected, delayed, or scrapped as most resources during the 1920s and 1930s were being contributed to rapid industrialization.

Then the spark came. When various nations of Eurasia formed into the Eurasian Soviet, some of the intelligentsia, including the very prominent Physics professor Doctor Kirill Lazarov, found a way to counter what they are calling, an "obstruction to advancement." So, on the night of March 30th, 1936, Dr. Lazarov and Eight other extremely affluent intellectuals gathered in an empty lecture hall in the Soviet Science Academy at Moscow, and decided to form a secretive society dedicated to combating the idea of Communism through increasing the consciousness of mostly blue-pilled people across the Eurasian Soviet, through spreading censored texts, scientific reports, books, and ideas in the underground. They would call it the Prima Intelligentsia, or Pi. Many agree that they would base themselves off of the doctrine of the Founding Fathers of the U.S.; of Classical Liberalism, yet promoting a Technocratic Republic. This, however, at the time of the formation, would be considered very far-fetched due to the iron grip that the Eurasian Soviet had on the consciousness of people, so most of the activities are limited to only the Intelligentsia class of people in the Eurasian Soviet.

Since the formation of Pi, it has managed to recruit more than 293 people into it's ranks, 100 of which, being sworn Brothers and Sisters. While most of the new people vary in ethnic lines from all over the Eurasian Soviet, the various social classes within the secret society are very limited, in which all members are entirely of the Intelligentsia. With an established base across several Academic and Scientific Institutions, the main goal of Pi would be to spread more rapidly to other places, as well as spread it's ideas rapidly too.

In order to keep their secrecy, many of the members use odd, unexpected codenames in meetings. Meetings would have no single place to take place as they'd be all over the place. Places with meetings would be discreetly marked with a Pi symbol hidden in the most unexpected place of an institution. Furthermore, the members of the society during meetings and discreet communications switch between speaking Latin, Spanish, Hindu, and other uncommon languages in the Eurasian Soviet in order to confuse any spies, or "untrue initiates." In Brotherhood Meetings, the most futuristic of technological advancements are discussed and shared, and ultimately excluded from knowledge from the initiates until they are initiated into the Society. To keep the secrecy of these advancements and any discussions thereof, hints would be hidden in places across the various operation areas of Pi. In other words, it is best assumed that Pi is as secret as the Illuminati, the Bilderburg Conferences, or the Shadow Government, and thus far, has proven to be very effective at hiding all of it's activities from the eye of the Eurasian Soviet.

This whole RP (not my choice but I take advantage of it) runs with a 2-3 years tech advantage when compared to RL.

About the gun: according to Wikipedia, the F-34 76mm gun was designed before the beginning of the war, as were its main competitors among which the already approved L-11 design from the Leningrad Kirov Factory. It was a topic we never discussed, but it's plausible that another Soviet Russian government with another military leadership than IRL (due to no purges and all) would rather re-evaluate the choice for the model's gun than keeping an inferior design.
For what concerns the 52K (or ZS-S-53 if you prefer this denomination) gun, it was (IRL) designed before 1939 and entered production in 1939, which leaves the option for it to be designed and produced between 2 and 3 years earlier in this RP.

And about the later section of the post - yes, you can. I mean, we agreed that early-war Panthers will certainly be a thing, just not enough to equip the whole army with them.

I hope I have been clear enough

I wouldn't be so sure. You see, I've always wondered why people loved the T-34 so much, don't get me wrong the combination of sloped-armor and a diesel engine was pretty revolutionary for the time...but at great costs. Early T-34's did not have radios aside from command units (who leading the charge from the front with the others following typically were the first to fall to German fire, fixed by T-34/85 variant), the sloped armor made the T-34 extremely cramped and pushed crew-members together making penetrating AP shells typically lethal to 75% of the crew rather than say the 18% average of a Sherman tank (not to mention that non penetration hits to the T-34 caused spalling which would kill or seriously wound the crew due to the steel being too hard). Add to it poor visibility problems (fixed by the T-34/85 variant), the gearbox that couldn't go into third gear off paved roadways (limiting speeds to 15km/h in all practicality of roadways due to the need for superhuman strength to move the gear from 2nd to 3rd in rough terrain), a transmission that would regularly break down, and the need for the T-34 to constantly stop during land marches to cool its engines down. Again, don't take this the wrong way, when the T-34 worked it was a beast...but it wasn't a god-tank. Roughly 78% of all T-34's made were destroyed, typically they were built just a little faster than they were destroyed, keeping their numbers in the Soviet AFV pool relatively the same over the course of the war.

If you want to look more in-depth at the failings of the T-34 to see if you can try and correct them in the IC I'd use this:

I mean, I did not say it's a god-tank, I just said that it would take longer to deploy a Tiger than a T-34, especially in the /85 version. Two main reasons are the weight of the Tiger and the fact that, for example, it had to bring separate tracks to be put on trains for transport, as the usual tracks of the Tiger would have been too large.

Ah, my apologies, I thought you meant by land marches, not transportation by rail. In that case yes, you'd have the advantage. But rarely are tanks unloaded from rail on a battlefield, typically only near them if not long before the battle begins.

Full Nation Name : The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Short Nation Name : Great Britain / GB / UK.
Flag / National Symbols: British Flag.

Government Type : Constitutional Monarchy / Parliamentary Democracy.
Official Political Ideology : Social Liberal, Economic Conservatives.
Head of State : King George VI.
Head of Government : Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain.
Government Description : The British Conservative and Unionist Party stands for traditional values and economic conservatism and is seen as one of the great power-houses of British politics. They’re known for their implementation of free school meals for children and a number of quality of life acts, following British failures in the Boer Wars, as these policies were seen to better the health of the nation’s citizens and in turn, improve the overall stature of the nation’s armed forces. They’re also known for their belief in the maintenance of the British Empire’s overseas territories, with prominent figures such as Winston Churchill even advocating violent means of suppression for separatist movements.

Territory : The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, vast swaths of territory across continental Africa, client states in Canada, Australia, New Zealand and dominion over the British Raj, Burma and numerous other lesser colonies world-wide.
Territorial Ambitions : The British Empire is known for its non-continental focus, deciding to avoid most European affairs up until the point it threatens their reputation or power-base. Instead focussing on expanding its colonial possessions. Meaning that the colonies of other powers, such as France, the Netherlands and Italy are quite appealing. Though with their recent history with France, it’d be incredibly difficult to muster public support for military actions against them as things stand.
Capital City : London, the South-East of England.
Population : Four-Hundred Million inhabitants.

Majority/Official Culture : With the Conservative and Unionist party in power, they preach a sense of Unionism and ‘Britishness’ has been preached throughout the Empire and with rights slowly trickling to some of the overseas colonies, such as Australia, New Zealand and Canada, the message appears to be working.

Majority/State Religion: Protestantism.

Major Industries / Economic sectors: Fishing, heavy industries such as coal mining, steel production and shipbuilding. It also has a large portion of the world’s more luxury resources at its disposal, making it an attractive trade partner for anyone looking to indulge themselves a bit more.
Amount of Industrialization : Great Britain is home of the Industrial Revolution, as such - it stands among the greatest industrial powers and with its access to a wide range of resources from its overseas territories, it’s able to use its industry to its full potential.
Economic Description : The Great Depression hit the Empire with some force, but since then - things have been improving, with infrastructure projects continuing throughout the African and Indian colonies increasing access to resources and up and coming powers such as the United States having an increased demand for their resources, the intakings of the Empire are on the increase and their expenditure appears to be remaining rather stagnant, leaving room for continued shipbuilding as well as modernization of the armed forces.

Military Description

Army: 892,697 Regulars and Reserves at present, but by the end of the Second World War, over three and a half million men had been in the army’s service. But if the First World War is anything to go by, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch for the Empire to muster a force in the area of nine-million, should it be required.

Navy:
3 Courageous-class Carriers
1 Hermes-class Escort Carrier
1 Eagle-class Escort Carrier
1 Argus-class Escort Carrier
2 Nelson-class Battleships
5 Revenge-class Battleships (8 ordered prior to WW1, 2 converted to Renown-class BCs, 1 never finished)
5 Queen Elizabeth-class Super Dreadnoughts (6 ordered prior to WW1, 1 never finished)
1 Admiral-class Battlecruiser (4 ordered prior to WW1, only the HMS Hood completed)
2 Renown-class Battlecruisers (converted Revenge-class BBs)
2 York-class Heavy cruisers (5 planned, 2 completed)
2 Norfolk-class Heavy Cruisers (4 planned, 2 completed)
4 London-class Heavy Cruisers
7 Kent-class Heavy Cruisers
4 Hawkins-class Heavy Cruisers (5 completed, 1 lost in the interwar period)
2 Arethusa-class Light Cruisers (6 ordered, 4 finished)
5 Leander-class Light Cruisers (8 ordered, all finished)
2 Emerald-class Light Cruisers (3 ordered, 2 finished)
8 Danae-class Light Cruisers (12 ordered, 8 finished)
13 C-class Light Cruisers (28 completed, 15 scrapped by '36)
18 E & F-class Destroyers
14 C & D-class Destroyers
20 A & B-class Destroyers
27 V & W-class Destroyers (67 ordered, 27 completed)
8 Scott-class Destroyers (10 ordered, 8 completed)
3 River-class Submarines
12 S-class Submarines (62 completed in total, most of the 50 not in service were lost during storms in the interwar period)
4 Rainbow-class Submarines (6 ordered, 4 completed)
6 Parthian-class Submarines
12 Odin-class Submarines
10 R-class Submarines (12 ordered, 10 completed)
26 H-class Submarines (42 completed, 8 lost pre-war, 6 sold to Chile, 2 transferred to Canada)

Air Force: The Royal Airforce is among one of the finest in the world, and one of the most highly invested in. With Ten Thousand aircraft in service, with only around Three Thousand ready to go overnight.

National Goals :

The continued expansion of the British Empire’s overseas territory and the maintaining of the balance of power globally, whilst also hoping to maintain their own position as the global great power.

History : The British Empire’s roots go beyond its formation in the 1707 acts of Union, all the way back to the ancient Kingdoms of Scotland, England, Gwynedd and beyond. For centuries the Isles were vulnerable to invasion from external forces. Whether it be the Norwegians in 1066, the Spanish Armada of 1588, Napoleon’s own fleet in 1803 - 1815, the German’s Navy in 1914. Always the Britons have prevailed and endured.

The British are a hearty people and together, unconquerable. They’ve spent the last several hundred years building Empire, and although they’ve had their share of defeats, particularly at the hands of the Americans following their independence. But they’ve had far more glory than embarrassment - their taming of Africa, their dominion over India, the vanquishing of the Germans in the Great War and now it seems as if another chance for glory rests on the Horizon, as an Iron Curtain descends upon Europe. And the Empire faces challenges both external and from within.

With the grand victory of Versailles still fresh in everyone’s memory, along with the horrors of the trenches, many are skeptical about entering into another conflict so soon, but others have a hunger for glory and honour. To bring pride to the Empire once more and to utilize the momentum gained politically as to expand territorially without gaining too much attention from the rest of the world - particularly the league of nations. Not that anyone truly believes they’d act, without a military of their own or any nations dedicated enough to it to intervene on their behalf.

God save the King and may the sun never set, on the British Empire.

Wait a sec, reseving the Scandinavian Union. That has some real possibilities
Firstly: Don't use me as a weapon. Secondly: Be careful, or I'll give ya a hug. Also, I'm, like, really bored. If you have an RP you might think I'd be even remotely interested in, please send me a PM so I can write posts instead of stalking threads! It'd be much appreciated.

Reservation App
Name of country reserved: The Union of Scandinavian Kingdoms
Territory: Same as map, along with dependencies, unless I can have more. I'd love to have some outside territory, maybe colonies, or even a nation like, I dunno, Belgium since it's already my color :P (that last part was mostly a joke) Can you suggest any? I don't want to be eaten by Russia. I'm going to have had military build-up before and after Finland joined Russia, so I can probably handle it, and it'd help with keeping the Russian bear away.

Full Nation Name: The Union of Scandinavian Kingdoms, or the Scandinavian Empire
Short Nation Name: Scandinavia | The Union | Sweden’s Union (more outdated nowadays, but Sweden is still the most influential nation, and is the center of power)
Flag / National Symbols: Flag | The flags of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden are flown alongside the Union flag in their respective countries as well as alongside each other and the Union flag at certain facilities

Government Type: Federal Parliamentary Constitutional Monarchy
Official Political Ideology: Classical Liberalism
Head of State: President Finn Philipsen, Denmark’s political darling who beat out five opponents in the last election, and the first Dane to have truly huge expectations of him when it comes to serving as President
Head of Government: Chancellor Sigrid Svensson, the highest ranking female official in the Union, and the latest Swede to be charged with the domestic and economic agenda
Governing Monarchs:
  • Gustaf the Fifth of House Bernadotte, King of Sweden, King of Norway, Wearer of No Crown
  • Christian the Tenth of House Glucksburg, King of Denmark, Prince of Iceland
  • Princess Martha of Sweden, House of of Bernadotte, Governess of Norway, Wife of Olav
Government Description: The Union of Scandinavian Kingdoms, or the Scandinavian Empire, is a federation of Scandinavian states that came into being after World War I started when Denmark joined the Swedish-Norwegian Union. In this Union, each of the monarchs has essentially become a governor with pan-Scandinavian nationalism sweeping the nation and encouraging the growth of both the economy and the military. There are numerous counties and municipalities under these somewhat re-empowered monarchs, whom answer to a President and a Chancellor. The President is often allowed to set the policy agenda in security and foreign affairs, while the Chancellor runs the domestic and economic agenda. The Parliament has been reorganized into a streamlined, 548-member group which handles national issues while each of the monarchal governors of the tri-state nation handle regional issues, often meeting together.

Territory: Sweden, Norway, Denmark make up the Union while the Faroe Islands, Greenland, and the Princely State of Iceland are Imperial Territories with other territories such as Svalbard or Jan Mayen being dependencies
Territorial Ambitions: To regain the former territory once held by each individual nation, but this is more of a nationalistic ideal than a true ambition, and likely won’t happen unless the Union is confident enough that it can be pulled off
Capital City: Stockholm, Sweden is the Union capital, meaning it is the capital for the federation itself, and is also the capital of Sweden itself. It sprawls about numerous islands in the Stockholm Archipelago, and is a center of such importance that it has given the hope of greatness to its people. A nice city, it is less of a haven for Communists, and more of Nirvana for the Liberalists.
Population: 13,425,250 in the Union, and nearly 200,000 in the Imperial Territories and dependencies | That’s a total of about 13.6 million citizens

Majority/Official Culture: Scandinavian

Majority Religion: Thanks to the size of the Swedish population, the majority religion is made up of the followers of the Church of Sweden.

Major Industries / Economic Sectors: Engineering, transport, agriculture
Notable Industries / Economic sectors: Armaments, shipbuilding and engineering in general alongside transport and shipping are most notable, but sectors like forestry and agriculture, mining and the fossil fuel industry, and pharmaceuticals alongside other industrial sectors have not only grown, but flourished, especially thanks to Sweden’s early economic guidance to Denmark and Norway.
Amount of Industrialization: Since the 1915s, the amount of industrialization has expanded rapidly alongside the infrastructure, though there is a mandate that agriculture must be able to provide for all members of the Union, its territories, and its dependencies.
Currency: In 1915, the Scandinavian Union adopted the Scandinavian Krona across the entirety of the Union to help strengthen the economy, and to allow Sweden to strengthen the ties between nations and make separation more difficult (though that last part was a very secret motive; Sweden really likes the Union)
Economic Description: The economy of the Scandinavian Union combined three rapidly growing economies with a diverse set of strong economic sectors that have been slowly making their way to flourishing since the 1915s. A notable infrastructure base that includes a railway system and amazing roads has resulted in ease of transfer of assets from place to place. The looming and constant threat of Communist nations

Military Description

Army: As Norway was able to field an army of 100,000 well-armed, well-trained men when fully mobilized by itself, the Scandinavian Union, with its powerful armament sector, is more than capable of fielding an army of 425,000 well-armed, well-trained men when fully mobilized. At this point in time, 345,000 of that force is mobilized. It’s a decent drain on the economy, but it’s believed to be necessary at this point in time with tensions so high, and the utter doom of the idea of falling to the “Red Cloud” becoming ever apparent.

Navy: 8 Goteburg-class destroyers, 4 Romulus-class destroyer/torpedo boats, 4 Psilander-class destroyers, 8 Vidar-class destroyers, 4 Wrangel-class destroyers, 4 Ehrenskold-class destroyers, 4 Klas-class destroyers, 8 Mode-class destroyers, 8 Visby-class destroyers, 8 Flower-class corvettes, 1 Gotland-class seaplane carrier (non-enhanced number), 1 Fylgia-class armored cruiser (non-enhanced number), 1 Clas Fleming-class mine cruiser (non-enhanced number), 1 Dristigheten-class coastal defense ship (non-enhanced number), 3 Sverige-class coastal defense ships, about 18 other vessels of various classes (no information could be found), and these. There is the addition of 12 corvettes, 1 decent carrier, 2 battlecruisers, 4 cruisers, and 6 light cruisers thanks to a larger nation. Note that the first listing of vessel numbers (not counting the 18 other vessels) have been enlarged thanks to the increased capabilities of the Scandinavian Union compared to their individual nations, and the military build-up. About 55 naval airmen fly monoplanes capable of being outfitted with torpedoes to drop, some out of island bases, and a handful of that number off of the naval carrier.

The downside is that the Scandinavian Union’s navy would likely be confronted with heavy losses in any confrontation. The navy also doesn’t have a strong air contingent backing it, and those planes that are available are probably as hard to replace as in the air force. Plans have been copied from planes, albeit secretly, and two domestically-created planes - one for the air force, one for the navy - along with a domestically-created bomber are being planned, but with those not ready for production, yet, it’s likely that the weak link of the air force that has been enlarged rapidly thanks to fear gripping Scandinavia in the first place would be taken advantage of quite easily.

Air Force: The Scandinavian Union has decided to make the move to transports with defensive armament to help with its transport sector, but they serve no purpose in the air force. After World War I, the Scandinavian Union realized the importance of having a strong air force. Its first purchase was that of 350 combat aircraft from the United States, and so far 130 of those aircraft not counted in that number have been delivered. The second purchase was of 200 Hurricane Hawkers from the UK, and 50 Manchester bombers, all of which have been delivered. An additional 250 aircraft were purchased from Italy and all have been delivered, this delivery mostly made up of Fiat C.R.42s, Reggianne Re.2000s, and Caproni Ca.313s (Note: Sweden purchased 300 from the U.S. IRL and 200 from Sweden IRL). An attacker needed to be found for the Union’s air force, and so a domestic variant was created that is decent, but not the best, though it has a lot of possibilities with its airframe so about 75 are in use, spread throughout the air force. Thanks to its neighbors having the largest, and best air forces in the world, the Union has been increasingly worried about air battles and is expected to increase funding to its air force soon. Unfortunately, the result of enemies and neighbors that have such large air forces is that the Scandinavian Union is not capable of replacing their planes so easily when compared to them, and already has a smaller force that is likely to be met with extremely heavy losses in any combat. Hitting the enemy first would be their best bet, but it’s not a good idea to do that either.

OOC Note: They’re essentially the Japan of the sky, except worse because they can’t make any of the aircraft they own except for the domestic attacker.

Other: The Scandinavian Merchant Fleet and the vessels that escort it are a major part of the Union’s economy

National Goals:

  • To strengthen the army, navy, and air force so that any major threats will be deterred if combat should engage
  • To create new domestic naval vessel classes as part of a new effort to thoroughly modernize the navy, though it can probably handle itself
  • To create a solid “long-ranged littoral” set of vessels that can act as littoral combat vessels, as well as fight somewhat off the deep water temporarily
  • To continue growing the economy
  • To maintain the Union’s sovereignty
  • To create a network of allies
  • To create a network of air bases outside of Union territories
  • To protect against the threat of the UESR
  • To quell fears of the Communists
  • To diversify the economy, build minor economic sectors, and build up industries like clothing and fashion so that the idea of Scandinavians catering to Scandinavians in every area while competing with foreigners can come into realization

History:

The start of a unified Scandinavia can be seen with the beginning of the United Kingdoms of Sweden and Norway when Sweden first came to believe that Norway would be theirs. Things got off to a rocky start in 1814 when Norway refused to submit to the treaty that had been arranged by Denmark and Sweden. The Swedish-Norwegian War of 1814 put everything at risk after Norway declared independence, and the possibility of a strong presence of pan-Scandinavian nationalism died for nearly a century. It would take just the right circumstances for the dreams of an unified Scandinavia to be fully envisioned and achieved. Things were a bit different then, however.

It wouldn’t be until the 1890s that relations between the Scandinavian nations reached a certain point that mixed well with the strong the current political atmosphere of the population, which had started rallying for the already strong relations between the Swedes, the Norwegians, and the Danes to reach a new epitome. Rallying would take quite a while, but the Scandinavians were willing to wait 2 decades. Those two decades would pass with Scandinavians in each of the three nations seeing pan-Scandinavian nationalism grow in their ranks. It almost seemed inevitable that things would reach a boiling point.

By the time the Great War would come, a new generation had strengthened pan-Scandinavian nationalism. It really started when World War I came, and the United Kingdoms of Sweden and Norway made an offer to Denmark that, if agreed to, would keep each member of the Scandinavians safe from the threat of a larger power taking them. The nations were compelled to act now that the Great War had enthralled all of Europe, which would benefit from the German’s chemical industry by acquiring technology for their own, including how to create chemical weapons. Still, the issues that almost split the United Kingdoms of Sweden and Norway were continuing, but that would change soon once a suggestion that became a promise to come into effect in a year showed up.

It wasn’t until that year of that was 1915 when the Union first started to show true solidarity, and, aye, existence by abandoning the problems that almost caused the severance of the United Kingdoms of Sweden and Norway, and beginning an era in which growth of the economy and military exploded. Since the 1814s, the Union of Scandinavian Kingdoms and its predecessor had kept its constitutions, laws, legislatures, administrations, state churches, armed forces, and currencies separate. The reasons for changing this were numerous, and would allow the Union of Scandinavian Kingdoms to change greatly under a group of visionaries that believed in re-empowering the now largely depowered monarchies by making them governors of three states in a federal nation. That was the revolution that was caused by the Great War, in a way.

Behind it all was the successor to the Scandinavian Party for Unification - the Pan-Scandinavian Alliance for Liberalism.

The idea for the chance of Scandinavia becoming a great power in Europe looked like it could occur one day, especially as Sweden had once been a great power. Scandinavia rearranged itself, and started pumping money into its military, which would eventually come to use about 13.5% of the GDP, with a 2% variance of going higher once every other year allowed without change thanks to the treasury growing ever larger. Connections to major nations were established, and Scandinavia was sure that its nation would grow. Smoke creating tanks that could deploy chemical weapon or smoke screens, shells and rockets that carried chemical weapons and could be used for bombardments, and a standard to be prepared for the use of chemical weapons on a battlefield that led to tanks that could become airtight with oxygen tanks available (they just things off with the pull of a lever), and changes in standard equipment and uniform meant that they were prepared for war.

Of course, the Scandinavians didn’t want a war, but things were different now that the Great War had taken place. Equality for both genders, the adoption of more lenient policies when it came to certain “lifestyles”, and a nationalistic population were essentially echoed of the French Revolution itself. The Scandinavians were disappointed that the German nation was failing, and the hope of Germany becoming whole again formed then. They had developed a soft spot for the Germans, with anti-Communistic ideals being noted heavily in the administrations of the nation.

The terror of the Red Scare had allowed the Pan-Scandinavian Alliance for Liberalism to become the dominant force on the political scene, with continuing neutrality looking like less and less of an option. The 1919 strike against the German Republic by the Spartacus League, the fall of the Ottoman and Persian Empires, and, finally, the 1927 Pan-Eurasian Conference of Socialist States led to a population that did the vilifying of the so-called Red Cloud itself. It was an evil, all-consuming cloud of communism that had infected every nation it had touched like a plague, a cloud that was spreading and intended on destroying everything. That was a major driving force for the PSAL, which allowed them to focus on developing their military and decent relations while they fueled their economy, allowing for welfare to show up in some areas.

Scandinavia is left unsure whether to call this era their Golden Age, or to call it their ending. Let’s roll the dice and see, shall we?

History :

Immediately after the overthrow of the Soviet Union, much of the Soviet Intelligentsia either ran away from fear, were purged and shot to death, or stood their ground with pardons from the Soviet Government.

Question regarding the following:

Union of Eurasian Socialist Republics No.2 (West) - OPEN

As I noticed a few countries that have been taken are still left as "open", is this slot still unclaimed? And secondly, what does this country represent? The western half of the UESR, i.e. eastern Europe and European Russia (Moscow/St. Petersburg/Black sea) with the UESR No. 1 being the remainder of Russia and Asian Soviet republics? I'm just confused as to how these two listings are designed to break up the UESR and how this is to be managed.

If this is still open, I'd like to reserve said slot, por favor.

This is a Scandinavia that is essentially afraid of being eaten by practically anything. I really do hope my app is okay.

Can you PM Zanzibar on Discord, please? I'm in the chat. I'd like to know who you are.

ACCEPTED comrade

Am not comrade D: Much scare
Firstly: Don't use me as a weapon. Secondly: Be careful, or I'll give ya a hug. Also, I'm, like, really bored. If you have an RP you might think I'd be even remotely interested in, please send me a PM so I can write posts instead of stalking threads! It'd be much appreciated.

Freedom is nothing but a vain phantom when one class of men can starve another with impunity. Equality is nothing but a vain phantom when the rich, through monopoly, exercise the right of life or death over their like.
