Fine, I'll send my old Chief of the french state Charles Huntziger instead.

Also Greece has been in the grip of a far right-wing dictatorship since 1936. To Greece, anything Left seems like a good idea, right about now. It'll probably be some sort of authoritarian socialism. I also haven't decided whether or not to have the situation devolve into Civil War. Emperor Basil may escape his captivity and rally his forces somewhere else. What do you guys think I should do? Which side would you back?

Well, in this RP, Russia isn't, nor has been in 75 years, left wing or communist. Though it sorta goes a bit like the Nordic Model, especially recently. For awhile, it was basically a system of government like Germany, right-winged, but now its shifting its focus a bit more.
However, its up to you. Though Varra is right in saying that generally, state planned, centralized economic socialism is generally considered infeasible.

Suppose the Civil War goes down, which side would Russia back?

Generally, the Emperor was specifically pro-Russian. But nothing is stopping the rebels from being pro-Russian as well. The difference in attitude is likely to be towards Germany. The Emperor is pro-German while the rebels are anti-German.

Then, I guess we would wait and see to which side the rebels fell. However, we would probably generally support the Rebels, over the emperor, unless the rebels took a hard anti-Russia slant.
