DISSIDENT FILE: WILHELM WOLVERHAMPTON
NAME: Wilhelm Wolverhampton
GENDER: Male
AGE: 35
APPEARANCE:
NATIONALITY: Anglo-Swiss
OCCUPATION: Professor of British and Germanic Literature, historian on 21st century history, part time watchmaker
CRIMINAL RECORD: None officially, however his opinions towards the large states could land him in serious trouble if ever voiced publicly.
PHYSICAL ASSESSMENT: Wilhelm wishes he could be a lot more physical, but an accident when he was younger has left him wheelchair bound. Meaning he perhaps isn't the best for any resistance movements or anything that would require physical usage of the lower part of his body. He is also unable to drive, but can at least stand on his legs, but cannot feel anything nor is he able to move them. Thus should a combat situation arises, don't expect him to be able to hold his own without support.
SKILLS & TRADES: Wilhelm is well known for one of two things, his intelligence, and his craftsmanship.
He is currently a Professor of British and Germanic Literature as well as a historian on 21st century history and this has given him the ability to analyse a situation, piece of text, or a set of events with a strong amount of accuracy. His job in teaching also means he is able to draw up plans for things, but it should be noted that these will never be as good as a military plan.
He is also known for his craftsmanship, having come from a family of watchmakers, and spent a lot of his youth with his Grandfather, thus he knows his way around working with clockwork and woodwork. What practical advantage does this hold? Bomb making. As outdated and as odd as it sounds, he could theoretically make a clockwork/mechanical bomb if helped by someone with pyrotechnic knowledge.
A third skill he posses is the fact he is bilingual, meaning he can translate texts between German and English.
PERSONALITY: Wilhelm seemingly has two very different personalities that share a few common traits. Professionally he seems to be a very quiet, stern, seemingly unmoved by seemingly anything and everything, and in this respect his peers and students fear any form of anger that could ever arise. Privately however, he's more vocal, softer on people yet retains the scary never ending calmness he shows in work. While privately he seems to be drawn by more emotion, anger never seems to arise, merely a clear annoyance. But don't let his calm ways fool you, should he get pushed far enough away from a calm anger he can become very emotionally driven and very loud. Perhaps enough to scare a local police officer or two since he is well known for his calm personality.
BIOGRAPHY: Born 35 years ago within Vaduz, formerly part of Liechtenstein that became part of Switzerland to avoid becoming part of the European superstate, he lived a fairly simple life within a family of watchmakers. His father British, his Mother Swiss thus earning him his dual citizenship. He gained a strong Swiss education while also being taught his family's craft by his Grandfather who he was often in care of compared to that of parents who were always busy with their job. But he enjoyed this, and sometimes even debates returning home to join his parents within the watchmaking business for tourists and locals alike.
Come his 15th Birthday he visited Vienna in Austria and he thoroughly enjoyed his experiences there, until one day there he was riding a bus that crashed, 3 people died, including the driver. Wilhelm was lucky to survive but was left permanently damaged from the waste down, unable to use his legs at all. However despite this, it did not stop him, when he returned home he went back into education as soon as he could and did not let it get the best of him. He often sees himself not as disabled, but just standing out a little bit, even if he can't walk he doesn't see it as an excuse to not do anything. Even if people tell him he can't, he'll try regardless, and this helped him pass through his education.
Come university education he studied 21st century history at the University of Geneva and passed with flying colours. He was offered work by the Swiss government to help in a large catalogue of world history of the 21st century history, which he often traced the ideas back to what he called 'the new cold war' between Russia and the US causing the world wide instability and that the Superstates were a necessity for survival. In which he argued that the UK is in a 'Second Great Game' but not over colonies, but over its own survival against Europe and America. He became a well known figure within the Historian community, travelling to all nations to give lectures and do documentaries on the situation that had arose across the world, but he tread lightly knowing his own opinions could be very dangerous.
He decided after a while that he would go to Britain to study literature, in which he compared Germanic literature and British literature and again passed. Becoming a lecturer on the subject at Durham University, in which he still currently teaches at. However some of those who govern do not like him due to him needing a modified SIN card due to his Swiss origin, meaning he is harder to track, and when he leaves the country he drops off the radar completely. His opinions of course, could still land him in serious trouble.
As for the resistance? He has heard of them, and has pondered the idea of joining them, yet he sees very little reason to join them currently. Believing that should tensions escalate, he will return to Switzerland and go do that watchmaking job he speaks so highly off. However, should they give him a real reason to work for him, just like the Swiss as a whole, unofficial help may be given, and maybe if they are lucky, he'll join the resistance as a whole.

Forest State wrote:Accepted. Good to have a Swiss character on board since the Swiss are the wild cards in this. I'll look at doing the IC when we have two, maybe three, more complete apps. There will be a decent period of time between the IC going up and it becoming hard to jump into it, so that shouldn't be a problem.
