The technocrats are outnumbered.

He has long shaggy black hair, though that is not its true color. He would not be considered handsome or cute, by any means, or even ruggedly handsome, but he could be considered to have a feral appeal. He possesses a Tribal look, he usually wears clothes different from normal garb, usually made from animal hides, though different. He also possesses several tattoos of sorts, ones he gained during his self imposed separation from the Imperium.
Backstory: He was born in the Imperium, when he was younger it was discovered he had great talent with magic. Later he showed great affinity for wielding the Elements. For a time he was lauded as a Prodigy, until it was discovered that they way he wielded the Elements was rather different from how normal Elementals wielded them. He was ridiculed, though it was relatively minor compared to the discrimination against Technology. Over time however he grew bored with the attitudes of most of his fellow Magi, so he left.
For years he has roamed around from place to place, among the wilds, always evading and separate from the Imperium. Strangely enough he learned and discovered more about his abilities away from the Imperium, than he had while there. Over time, how he used his powers changed in a sense, further distancing himself from the Imperium and typical Elementals. He has learned more about how his particular brand of Elementalism works. Another thing he learned was what the limits and strengths of his type of magic were. While he can wreak less destruction overall than normal Elementals, his destruction is more focused.
Class: Elemental. Unlike normal Elemental's his way of wielding the elements focuses on imbuing his physcial form with power, rather than just creating forces of Nature. He can only absorb the energy of the elements when they are naturlly formed, not when created by magic, but he will still have a resistance to the elements when in the appropriate form. Each of his elemental forms has specific effects and strengths and weaknesses. When in his respective forms he can be healed by absorbing that element. Physically he is somewhat faster, stronger, more durable and smarter than the average Magi, due to the ambient effects of his magic.

Apps for his apprentice and a Technocracy character will come along soon.

Zarkenis Ultima wrote:Welp, took me a while to get it up but here's my first appApps for his apprentice and a Technocracy character will come along soon.
Name: Valerius Carlisle
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Alliance: Ex-Imperium
Appearance: Here, armor looks like this.
Backstory: Valerius was born a commoner in the Imperium, the child of simple folk who, despite being magi like everyone else, wanted nothing to do with the war and were content to live in the relative peace of the capital's suburban area. He, however, was different, bearing within a flame that would in time drive him towards the heart of the conflict between the Imperium and the Technocracy. Though his fiery soul was tempered during his childhood by his parents' responsible upbringing, they could never quite dissuade him from wanting to fight for the Imperium, as his own temperament, coupled with the constant anti-Technocracy propaganda, fostered in him the desire to enlist in the Imperium's armed forces. His parents, despite their pacifistic tendencies, prepared him as well as they could, and saw him off once he turned sixteen and officially went into training with one of the masters of the Imperium.
Now, Valerius had always had a keen interest in enchanting magic, and at the moment of finding a master, there was a highly respected magician who took an interest in him. It was under this sage's wing that the boy trained, quickly picking up the basics of being an Enchanter and moving onto advanced spells. However, while his master stuck to fairly traditional practices despite his prestige, Valerius had a desire to see battle on the frontlines, and so, to improve his chances out there, he decided to do something that was considered rather unusual for an Enchanter: to specialize in long-term enchantments. These were often regarded as helpful, but it was not advised to rely solely on them, as they always required some degree of preparation. However, this did not deter Valerius in the slightest. Preparing and donning an enchanted armor, he was sent to the frontlines, and despite all odds his gambit paid off: the Technocrats were used to facing off against golems and beasts, and having hellfire and thunder raining on them from above, but the last thing they expected was a magician who could fight toe to toe with their prized Soldiers and Armorers.
Soon the eccentric Enchanter's fame grew, and he was acknowledged as one of the most skilled magicians in his field by his peers and superiors. At the age of 26, he was assigned an apprentice, the young daughter of a noble family. She had great potential, and he sought to harness it, teaching her his ways as well as he could. However, before the year was through, a rather odd accident caused his apprentice to shy away from enchanting magic. Due to his good standing within the Imperium, no blame was placed on him, though he was left without an apprentice and sent back to the frontlines.
It was during this time that he finally realized that not everything that the Imperium had told him was true. During an extermination mission, where he had expected to find warriors ready to fight against him, Valerius instead found a group of defeated soldiers, licking their wounds and giving each other words of courage before spotting the armor-clad warrior. Normally, he would not have doubted his orders, but he found no pride in facing off against those enemies who were in no position to fight back and seemed to behave in such a human way, and this along with the fear he saw in their eyes made him question the doctrines of the Imperium. Instead of fulfilling his duty, he turned his back on his enemies and walked away.
Unfortunately for Valerius, his actions were being observed, and a surprise attack saw him rendered unconscious. When he woke up, he was imprisoned in the capital city. He had been accused of treason and sentenced to death, and his public execution would serve to make an example of him. Ironically, it was the Imperium's widespread advertising of Valerius' execution that ended up saving his life: the day before he was to die, a familiar face broke into the prison and handed him back his armor. The Enchanter was deeply moved by the fact that his former apprentice had come back to rescue him, but there was no time to lose, and so, he began making his way out of the city and headed towards the neutral zone, with his apprentice vowing to follow. In the end, though he had to fell dozens of his former comrades just to protect his life and his freedom, he made it out of the country, and decided that he would find the truth behind the Imperium's brazen lies.
Class: Enchanter, specializes in complex and powerful long-term/permanent enchantments.
Equipment: Valerius never fights without his armor, shown above. The armor can absorb energy-based attacks, turning them into magical energy that it stores as fuel. It greatly increases the physical abilities of its wearer, scaling with the magical energy stored; he can supply this energy himself, though this is not as effective. The armor can transfer stored energy as either protective or harmful magic through direct contact. It is enchanted to appear on command, allowing him to equip quickly in an emergency. Lastly, an enchantment that was added recently to the armor as a result of his desertion is an anti-theft spell of sorts, which prevents anyone besides him from using the armor. It should be noted that he is still vulnerable to physical (or other non-energy based) attacks.
In addition to the armor, Valerius wields a sword called Nightfall. Besides being enchanted to appear on command in a similar way to his armor, the sword can also transfer energy just like the armor and has the added ability of projecting arcs of energy. However, he does not use this weapon too often.
