Alright. I know a few more people whop plan on joining, but here's the basic starting idea. The PCs all meet up in the Neutral Zone. They chat for a bit, and then both sides freak out and start shooting. We gotta GTFO Before we get filled with hardlight bullets and lightning bolts.

I don't see what that has to do with anything. The PCs are going to wind up working together.

Welp, took me a while to get it up but here's my first app :P Apps for his apprentice and a Technocracy character will come along soon.

Name: Valerius Carlisle

Age: 27

Gender: Male

Alliance: Ex-Imperium

Appearance: Here, armor looks like this.

Backstory: Valerius was born a commoner in the Imperium, the child of simple folk who, despite being magi like everyone else, wanted nothing to do with the war and were content to live in the relative peace of the capital's suburban area. He, however, was different, bearing within a flame that would in time drive him towards the heart of the conflict between the Imperium and the Technocracy. Though his fiery soul was tempered during his childhood by his parents' responsible upbringing, they could never quite dissuade him from wanting to fight for the Imperium, as his own temperament, coupled with the constant anti-Technocracy propaganda, fostered in him the desire to enlist in the Imperium's armed forces. His parents, despite their pacifistic tendencies, prepared him as well as they could, and saw him off once he turned sixteen and officially went into training with one of the masters of the Imperium.

Now, Valerius had always had a keen interest in enchanting magic, and at the moment of finding a master, there was a highly respected magician who took an interest in him. It was under this sage's wing that the boy trained, quickly picking up the basics of being an Enchanter and moving onto advanced spells. However, while his master stuck to fairly traditional practices despite his prestige, Valerius had a desire to see battle on the frontlines, and so, to improve his chances out there, he decided to do something that was considered rather unusual for an Enchanter: to specialize in long-term enchantments. These were often regarded as helpful, but it was not advised to rely solely on them, as they always required some degree of preparation. However, this did not deter Valerius in the slightest. Preparing and donning an enchanted armor, he was sent to the frontlines, and despite all odds his gambit paid off: the Technocrats were used to facing off against golems and beasts, and having hellfire and thunder raining on them from above, but the last thing they expected was a magician who could fight toe to toe with their prized Soldiers and Armorers.

Soon the eccentric Enchanter's fame grew, and he was acknowledged as one of the most skilled magicians in his field by his peers and superiors. At the age of 26, he was assigned an apprentice, the young daughter of a noble family. She had great potential, and he sought to harness it, teaching her his ways as well as he could. However, before the year was through, a rather odd accident caused his apprentice to shy away from enchanting magic. Due to his good standing within the Imperium, no blame was placed on him, though he was left without an apprentice and sent back to the frontlines.

It was during this time that he finally realized that not everything that the Imperium had told him was true. During an extermination mission, where he had expected to find warriors ready to fight against him, Valerius instead found a group of defeated soldiers, licking their wounds and giving each other words of courage before spotting the armor-clad warrior. Normally, he would not have doubted his orders, but he found no pride in facing off against those enemies who were in no position to fight back and seemed to behave in such a human way, and this along with the fear he saw in their eyes made him question the doctrines of the Imperium. Instead of fulfilling his duty, he turned his back on his enemies and walked away.

Unfortunately for Valerius, his actions were being observed, and a surprise attack saw him rendered unconscious. When he woke up, he was imprisoned in the capital city. He had been accused of treason and sentenced to death, and his public execution would serve to make an example of him. Ironically, it was the Imperium's widespread advertising of Valerius' execution that ended up saving his life: the day before he was to die, a familiar face broke into the prison and handed him back his armor. The Enchanter was deeply moved by the fact that his former apprentice had come back to rescue him, but there was no time to lose, and so, he began making his way out of the city and headed towards the neutral zone, with his apprentice vowing to follow. In the end, though he had to fell dozens of his former comrades just to protect his life and his freedom, he made it out of the country, and decided that he would find the truth behind the Imperium's brazen lies.

Class: Enchanter, specializes in complex and powerful long-term/permanent enchantments.

Equipment: Valerius never fights without his armor, shown above. The armor can absorb energy-based attacks, turning them into magical energy that it stores as fuel. It greatly increases the physical abilities of its wearer, scaling with the magical energy stored; he can supply this energy himself, though this is not as effective. The armor can transfer stored energy as either protective or harmful magic through direct contact. It is enchanted to appear on command, allowing him to equip quickly in an emergency. Lastly, an enchantment that was added recently to the armor as a result of his desertion is an anti-theft spell of sorts, which prevents anyone besides him from using the armor. It should be noted that he is still vulnerable to physical (or other non-energy based) attacks.

In addition to the armor, Valerius wields a sword called Nightfall. Besides being enchanted to appear on command in a similar way to his armor, the sword can also transfer energy just like the armor and has the added ability of projecting arcs of energy. However, he does not use this weapon too often.

Name: Jessica Myers

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Alliance: ex-Technocracy

Appearance: Jessica Armor

Backstory:
Jessica was born in the Technocracy capital to two prominent scientists in the government. Her father was a biochemical engineer and her mother a chemist. Jessica was given the finest education available in her country, but she always a gift and a passion for athletes and combat instead. This didn't make her parents particularly happy, despite the position of the their government they were more pacifistic in nature. Still they loved their daughter and desired her to succeed in her home.

Jessica for her part was a great patriot, being a child and never having seen the Imperium she gladly bought the propaganda of the Technocracy and the idea that her nation was righteous, and it was the enemy who threatened peace and liberty. This blind patriotism led her to desire to be a great warrior, despite her parents wishes for her to be a scientist. By 12 Jessica was already an expert at fencing and judo, and at 15 she was selected for a prestigious and secretive government training program, known only as Phoenix. The process of attending the program was unknown, but the soldiers who came out of it proved to be some of the Technocracy's finest. While her parents hesitated, Jessica was overjoyed by the news and accepted the offer immediately.

Jessica was then taken away from her family, she was blindfolded for hours before finally being revealed to have arrived at her location. It was an underground fortress, known simply as "the Nest", a place where she would live and train under masters for the next four years. Jessica was not alone here either, there was a whole class of others like her of various skills and classes, each being prepared for war against the Imperium. Training was difficult, and she missed her family, but Jessica thrived in combat. She became close with her fellow students as well, bonding with some of them like they were the siblings she never had. Jessica quite enjoyed her time at the Nest, until she learned the awful truth of the program. The "graduation" process, was a series of gladiatorial death-matches between the students of the program. Those who survived would serve their country with greatest honor, and those who died were never worthy of the privilege. Jessica was horrified to learn the truth. She begged and pleaded to her instructors for them not to do this, but they would do nothing, a necessary sacrifice was all it was.

Jessica remembers everyone she killed, and the look on their faces as she did it. Jessica won the day, but she had been broken by the process. She realized the Technocracy was no less an evil than she had always been told the Imperium was. She bid her time however, waited for her chance to escape. That came when she received the final step of the process, nano-tech augmentation. The process was painful, but extraordinary. When Jessica emerged, she was faster, stronger, and smarter than she ever had been before. She knew this was her chance, their guard was down. That night, she grabbed her weapons and some basic supplies, and made her escape. She killed dozens of guards as she made her way to the surface. The sun was overwhelming at first, and she nearly collapsed from the exposure. However, she managed to maintain consciousness and has just recently made it to the neutral zone. Now a wanted criminal, Jessica searches for a new life, a new purpose, and perhaps a chance at redemption.

Class: Soldier- Jessica like all soldiers has nanotech implants, ones that have greatly increased her physically strength and durability. Specifically her cells and metabolism regenerate quicker than the average human. While she can still be killed by most reasonable means, it is unlikely for her to die from wounds. Her main skill revolves around her swords and hand to hand combat. She is also equipped with first aid and survival training.

Equipment:
Duel Swords
Two handed Mech-sword
Mech sword has AI tech that allows Jessica to insert programming drivers to the interface that allows the weapon to change form. Such options are war-hammer, spear, and an ax.
She also usually carries a few grenades, as well as a bubble shield device in case things get ugly.

Name: Sonra Kain

Age:23

Gender: Female

Alliance: Ex-Technocracy

Appearance: http://i0.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/new ... 20/fff.png

Backstory: Sonra was born to the Kain family, a family of exceptionaly wealthy individals whom serve as pillars of the Technocracy, some of the brightest minds of their generations have been Kains. Sonra was no exception, and in fact managed to stand out even within her own family at such a young age, which makes her fate all the more peculiar.
Sonra was put through top Technocracy schooling, but found she didn't really fit in. She took to a life in the army much more. After weeks of pleading with her family, she managed to get what she wanted. She qualified for an officers commission, and was even given a suit which she made extensive modifications to. Everyone had high hopes for her.
But once again, she found herself not quite aclimating as well as she felt she could. Then there were the missions, which were not so much fighting Magi from the Imperium but fighting insurgents within the Technocracy. Several years of this and loosing men at her command to Magi slowly began to wear on her, her originally sweet naivette fading to a coldness. It didn't help that she disagreed heavily with the tactics used to combat the insurgents.
One day she simply had enough. The straw that broke the camels back was an order to execute a supposedly dangerous magi without trial. She refused, leaving the army and taking her suit with her. No one was stupid enough to try and stop her.

Class: Armourer

Equipment: Sonra's armour, Ancile, is big and tough. It is typically armed with a large plasma cannon, designed to vapourize her opposition with massive blasts. Her armour also has considerable strength at it's disposal, often it's off hand working as an effective and brutal weapon.
Ancile is armed with a massively powerful jet booster, allowing it to propell itself extremely fast in one direction or even into the air.
The main weakness of Ancile is it's lack of manuverability. It's boosters are too powerful to use for precise movements. But what it lacks in ability to manuver it makes up for in toughness, strength and blastyness. Ancile is tough as nails and hits like a trucks older brother.

Here's another app. Don't worry, I plan to make a Technocrat as well :P

Name: Kirisvala Sarafan

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Alliance: Ex-Imperium

Appearance: Here, robes are like these, because classics.

Backstory: Kirisvala was the second child of the Sarafan, an influential family of nobles from the capital of the Imperium. As was customary for noble families such as hers, the firstborn, Kirisvala's elder sister, was to inherit the family's properties and was raised to manage them and be a worthy aristocrat. The second daughter, then, was to enter the Imperium's military, and to that end, she was trained since she was very young, taught the basics of magic as well as combat, so that she could take care of herself and perhaps even impress any potential masters for her. Despite having had no say in this life that was chosen for her, Kirisvala's cheerful nature remained, her blind love for her family keeping her going forward even though the aristocrats could be rather cold towards her.

As it turned out, the girl had an enormous potential for magic, something that became evident during her early training, and so, once she was old enough to receive official training from a magi of the Imperium's army, the Sarafan sought out a master they deemed worthy of their child. Since she had shown some interest in enchanting magic, they sought out an Enchanter that had recently gained renown as one of the best in the Imperium, a man by the name of Valerius. He took her under his wing and taught began teaching her what he knew about enchanting magic, and though most of the time his demeanor was quite stern, she quickly grew attached to him, as despite her love for her family she could tell, on some level, that he was the first person that didn't treat her as a means to an end.

However, her apprenticeship under him was not to last, as not long before her first year with him passed, there was a rather peculiar accident. Up until then, Kirisvala had been quickly learning and applying what she learned from Valerius, but given the latter's specialization, he tried to make her perform enchantments to create an armor similar to his. Despite all the care they took with the procedure, however, something failed, and instead of the desired effect, a part of the armor fused to her body. Neither of the two mages was sure of how to fix this, and though Valerius appealed to the Imperium, the other magi did not seem to know a way to undo this without harming her. Kirisvala, despite her appreciation towards her teacher, was distraught and did not wish to continue learning enchanting magic after that, ceasing to be his apprentice.

When she tried to go back home, her family had naturally learned about the nature of the accident already, and, blaming her ineptitude for it, they refused to have her back, closing their doors, save for one. Fortunately for her, not everyone in her family was as heartless, and her older sister helped her find another teacher that could look after her and would not turn his or her back on her. As she did not want to learn any more enchanting magic and did not feel particularly drawn towards any of the more violent types of magic, Kirisvala opted to become a healer instead, and with her sister's help found a kind and well-respected old magi who was willing to mentor her. Thus, she spent the following months learning and perfecting healing magic, and to a lesser extent, learning to combine it with what she had learned of enchanting magic.

It seemed that Kirisvala would simply grow up to become a healer in the Imperium, but in a turn of fate, she learned about what had been of her former mentor. He had been accused of treason and sentenced to death, and this greatly concerned the girl. She knew that her teacher was a respected and honorable person, and did not believe the charges that were raised against him. Thus, she decided to help him, even though she knew she wouldn't be able to simply walk away afterwards. She stole his armor, which the guards had taken away, and snuck into the prison where they held him, returning the armor to him. The two of them then made their way towards the neutral zone, with Kirisvala not wanting to separate from her master, as she now felt that she couldn't trust either the Imperium or the Technocracy.

Class: Healer/Enchanter. Can use very effective healing magic, cast powerful barrier spells and create a myriad of supportive spells and enchantments to assist herself or her allies. For self-defense, she relies on self-healing and shielding along with melee combat.

Equipment: Besides her robes (shown above), Kirisvala wears a helmet and a pair of gauntlets, which are fused to her body. Both are made from very sturdy metals and the latter have claws that can easily rend flesh and cloth.
