Ah.
Well, overall, Scotty I think is doing objectively well. Cox is presenting a challenging case, I'd even compare him to Trump a bit.

It sucks seeing someone go like that.

Connecticut was one of the leading liberal states on the issue, and New London is fairly liberal, but in the mid-nineties support for same-sex marriage in the state was hovering around 2-1 against. His pro-gay efforts as principal would be pretty controversial in the community.
As a second-termer without much political capital or name rec, it seems a little doubtful that he could co-author something as huge as the post-Sandy Hook laws.
Would Denis's machine have let the AgroSTEM bill written by a Green through?
If he had done the pro gay stuff in the early 2000s, at the end of his tenure, it would certainly have been ok. And it was anti-discrimination, not necessarily even pro gay marriage.
In real life, some two term congressmen from both parties co-authored the massive gun control packages. John Shaban comes to mind. Democratic leadership would certainly tap someone like O'Brien, especially, since he is an educator. They used similar strategies.
In CT the GOP is actually largely in favor of Agro-STEM spending.

Former Attorney General John Francis Capulet was born on July 25, 1949, to a retired Navy Commander, David Capulet, and a Boeing worker, Beatrice Walters. In his youth, Capulet was highly intelligent and very determined, learning how to read at age 3. He advanced quickly in his early youth, and quickly took an interest in law. His proficiency at very basic law at the age of 15 was due, in part, to friends of the family who were lawyers. Capulet made up his mind, deciding he wanted to be a lawyer. His mom fully supported him, but his dad wanted him to join the Navy, leading in riffs in the family.
Capulet though he could have the best of both worlds. At age 19, Capulet went to Harvard (not the law school), and got a four year degree. This successful and robust work led to his appointment as Solicitor General of the United States in 2009, under President Winston, where he took a different task, representing the government before the Supreme Court. He issued several Amicus Curiae briefings during Obergefell v. Hogdes. He had one more step on his career. Attorney General. I don't really think Liberty County is going to have the population density that you need to support a new gun shop. Most of the gun stores are farther south, but you wouldn't really be expecting people to go trekking out nowhere to make purchases, especially since you wouldn't really have advertising, or any decent thru traffic.
I'm honestly not 100% sure about men being council leaders for the Girl Scouts, I don't think it's barred, since they can be troop leaders, but at least at that young an age it doesn't seem too likely
The 7th district used to be over on the NE coast, a good hundred and fifty miles away. He carpetbagged?
