Serious, dude, how many pitchfork murders by Mexican immigrants in South Dakota do you think there are?

The state has like a dozen or two murders a year, and less than 2% of the state is Hispanic in general, and only a fraction of those are immigrants

And you really think that's not a politically useful back story?

Is it likely? No, but can it still happen? Yes, of course. Muslims make up a small percentage of the population, an even smaller one in Florida, and one just so happened to attack a gay bar. How often does that happen in Florida?

Well, considering the fact that Hispanics don't have an issue of a sizable sect of their own population adhering to an ideology similar to that of ISIS or Al Qaeda - or any ideology whatsoever, considering Muslim is a religion and Hispanic is an ethnicity.

It can happen isn't an argument, anything can happen. This though is both super unlikely and clearly something that gives him a political advantage

There's a difference between "I grew up a farm boy in Alabama, and thus farmers are important to me" and "DARN DIRTY MEXICANOS BROKE INTO MAH HOUSE AND KILLED MY MAMA, DEPORT ALL TACO PEOPLE".

Most politicians don't have a backstory that sounds like it was written as a campaign manager

Most politicians don't actually need superhero backstories

Donald Trump doesn't want to build a wall because immigrants murdered his parents

Ron Paul isn't anti-war because his company sold weapons to terrorists that captured him

Micheal Bloomberg isn't anti-gun because a criminal shot his parents in an alley behind the theater

Bernie Sanders doesn't want to ban fracking because his home planet was destroyed by overexploitation of resources

Contrary to movies, people really can form their own opinions without a tragic backstory
