The Union Forever...
One of the things I admire most about the United States of America is their idea of a forever union, but that got me thinking about what would happen if the USA broke into many smaller countries during the interwar era of the 2oth century. So being the logical person that I am, I made an RP about this possibility! Now before you get around to apping I think you'll all need some background information...
The United States of America was one its way to becoming a economic and military superpower for over a century. With the onset of the Great War America declared neutrality in what they saw as a European Conflict, however this war did highlight the severe divide in the country as those who supported the Central powers and those who supported the Allies occasionally clashed in the streets of Americas cities, often violently. Eventually America joined the Allies for several reasons which greatly upset the German population of America (which is much higher in this RP). After the war ended with an Allied victory the now great power began facing instability issues from within, this included multiple succession movements and a few armed conflicts in the more rural regions of the country. Seeing this occurring the military stepped in and preformed a military coup in Washington DC, they implemented the former general Edward Rodez to the presidency. The new president was wildly unpopular an less then a month after the coup Texas and California declared independence resulting in congress passing a highly controversial bill aimed at the destruction of states rights. This was the nail in the coffin for the country and on July 2 1921 the federal government lost control of the entire country outside the district of Colombia, marking the end for the United States of America. Alaska was annexed by the Russians later that month. The newly independent countries now face crippled economies and high tension among each other as they compete for influence in this turbulent land.
