There may be a workaround. What if I have my soldiers hop in a rover and peacefully travel to your base? You feed them every year, I pay you, it could work.

Just to confirm, the only event for year seven is those concealing dust storms? If so I'll look to get my turn up.

You can only take starting colonists at the start of the game. The reason they are limited is that not everyone in your home town wants to spend the rest of their lives in a lifeless rock millions of miles away from the relative safety and beauty of Earth.

Prisoners are unlimited because they don't have a choice.

If you need help, (or if anyone else needs any help) I'm at your service.
I could write those ledgers for you, for starters.

Might have to ask you for that since I have a lot to factor in and I lost my spreadsheets on the computer.

Sure thing!
All you have to do is to tell me what you want to accomplish on your colony.
Or, what your priorities are, and I'll try to figure out what best does that.
Industrial Growth?
Security?
Research?
Credit Income?
Self-Reliance?

Reading through the tech tree...
The techs are not really all that useful (Except for the military techs, those kick ass.).
I better add some more incentives.

I looked back at The Last Colonies.
We actually managed to get over 100 turns.

I'm going to rework the technologies if you guys don't mind so that they are actually worth investing in.

+1, a lot of them are a tad...not useful. Otherwise I would have been more adamant about picking up carbon early, myself.

Don't mind it changing now, it's late enough that everyone's mostly on the same foot for research.

They should arrive by Turn 6.
Also, I changed the rules so you can pick whether you want to start with an ore or a water source on the moon.

Better.

Is it a yearly shipment of ore/water/special resource then?

Hum, Hark, an idea. Perhaps Perimeter Walls can serve as a primary defense structure, to give them a utility? They have to be breached before attackers can fire on other structures (aside from military bases), and whatnot. That would give them a good purpose and make them worthwhile to construct.
TG if you have questions about RP. If I don't know the answer, I know someone who does.

Hmmm...
I'll consider that.
