Backstory:Philip was born on Washington DC. He was took from his mother, as he was choosen to be part of a progam,leaded by An rich group of The Untainted. Philip grew up in an facility. He was upgraded with Cybernetic technology to transform him into a "Meta-Hunter". He was the first of many upcoming soldiers,made to put an end to the Meta-human. They also brainwashed him, making him to believe that His family was killed by Meta-humans, and that they were the reason to his suffering.

One day, when Philip had Sixteen years, he decided to go rogue, and break out of the facility. After breaking the facility, Philip started to wander into the world of crime. His Cyborg skills allowed him to become a sucefull criminal. He was arrested several times, mostly for Small thefts and such, which allowed him to live. One day,though, he was invited into the Syndicate. Philip became an Elite Mercenarie, doing many jobs for money.

Backstory: Marcus sweets was born and raised in New York City and led a fairly normal life up until he joined the marine corp when he turned 18. Marcus had always known he would join the marines, he was a patriot through and through and wanted to honor a long family tradition of military service. He would be apart of the 3rd wave of marines to be deployed in the initial attack against Iraq in 2001. During the battle of Basra, he would distinguish himself by running out into enemy lines of fire in order to retrieve four of his injured comrades. He would be shot three times and would receive the purple heart, as well as the silver star of valor. He would receive a brief reprieve while recovering from his injuries, which he would enjoy state side. Around this time he got interested in politics. He had no aspirations, just more of a scholarly curiosity. He was overall apathetic towards the morality of meta vigilantism, figuring that so long as they fought for America they were alright with him. He would be deployed back to Iraq in January 2004, where he would go on to fight in the battle of Fallujah. He would distinguish himself again when he single handedly charged an insurgent held house and captured six fighters. His efforts would not go unnoticed and he was asked to participate in special forces training, which he gladly accepted; six months later, he would be inducted into the Green Berets.
He would serve in the Green Berets for ten years, and he loved every moment of it. He served in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kashmir ( classified ), Chechnya ( classified ), and in his final year of service - the United States. During the battle of New York he was off duty, but as soon as the Society's crime wave hit, he as well as every other active duty service member in the city were immediately called into action. He was deployed along side every other branch of the military in an attempts to put down the society's sneak attack. It was a massacre. In his platoon of 80, 51 were killed. A single meta, whose identity he could not identify, wiped out his platoons entire convoy. Despite the overwhelming fire power of the platoon, they were ineffective against the meta. Marcus would go into shell shock immediately following the battle, finding that for the first time in his life his military training, his guns, and his marine leatherneck attitude were useless against an enemy. He would wonder the decimated streets of New York for several hours before lying down in a destroyed basketball court and passing out. After he woke up, the battle was over, and emergency responders were just now beginning to reach the damage. He heard his radio call out to hear if he was still alive. He threw the radio away, and stripped his army gear off and ran off into the destruction. For the last three years, he has been hiding out in the rebuilt ghettos of New York - off the grid. He has been constantly thinking about the day that he and all his fellow soldiers were laid to waste by the super human. He concluded that so long as beings of such awesome power existed, humans could never be safe. He has been studying, training, and gather arms - readying himself for the day he would avenge his fallen comrades of from the Meta menace

Personally, if Philip has gotten caught, I don't think the government would care if he'd be permanently damaged or be brought close to death. I mean, by doing so, in the event that he does manage to escape, people will have an easier time of tracking him down. Weakened and damaged, there's potentially less harm that he would be able to cause in both short and the long run.
