Hub

"We could have done the same but we were a bit busy with other matters." Kauffman replied back. When Spyglass admit that he couldn't scan the living quarters Kauffman said. "Yeah had the same problem with our robots but when operatives and researchers tried to get in they do so with no problem. You can wait for the ground team but we didn't send in the bulk of our forces to one mission so we can in estimate those rooms. Hopefully we won't find any traps or security systems that the previous owners left behind."

Elsewhere in the hub agents, researchers, and operatives have saw the Batter appeared, the novelty of people suddenly appearing in the hub has long sense faded away. Devices used in detecting anomalous energies were going off once they detected the Batter and the Add-On's presence in the room. When the Batter approached the room Kauffman was expecting him as he heard from the others the new arrival.

"Oh boy here we go again. In short you are in a hub that was made by an Anicent civilization called the Ascendants who once tried to conquer the multiverse but in doing sonpissed off the gods and were almost destroyed. Apparently a few survived and those survivors are now back for revenge as they imprisoned the gods, also they still have plans to conquer the multiverse. The conduit, the machine that creates portals to different universes, somehow detected the return of it's Makers and are now turning themselves back on, taking people from their world."

Kauffman explained to the man, seeing from his universe that he may understand some of the things he was saying... hopefully. "Unfortunately the conduit can't take us back so we have to find a resource called Aeterium to repair it and restore power to the machine."

En route to Winterhold

Elizabeth saw Akari shake J.D.'s hand and wonder if the woman forgot that J.D. can copy her DNA just by touching people. Akari soon talked about a magical exam and how something like that was common in her world. "Save for the rumors I heard about Branfanc University secretly teaching students magic, magical schools like Hogworth isn't something I usually hear even though I heard if a few schools. Though in my world they are very much secretive since we can't have the muggles know about magic being real."

Elizabeth explained as she took out her lighter, closing and opening the lid repeatedly. Elizabeth saw from J.D.'s aura that he was nervous over the idea that the mages in the college would no a magical test. After hearing what J.D. Had to say Elizabeth gave the man a wide grin. "Your are lucky to know me. Sure you can talk to them to convince you to enter the college but you happen to know me and the one best thing about magic in my world is that any blue or bird from the street can do it if they know what they're doing."

Elizabeth explained, still playing around with her lighter. "I can help you do a single rituals and for that short moment the mages would believe that you are like me and Reiko. However You have raised a good point, someone needs to be our spoke person and you have shown to be a good canduste, way better than a bloody demon or robot that's for sure. But you won't be alone on finding stuff since as an investigator that is what I do almost every day. But if you want I can distract the deans and students if you want."

Spyglass could send in more people to the Hub, which would likely allow him access to to the rooms, though it was not high on the priority list of areas to scan. "While any number of IMC forces could access the living quarters, the likelihood of there being important information there is minimal. Instead, I have units in other areas of more importance to the function of the station." As they were talking, another arrival came in. "The arrivals are becoming more frequent. More worlds are discovering their Conduits." the robot stated. "The chance that a hostile or non-sapient race finds one grows as more portals open up. Precautions must be taken to contain any threat." said the Vice Admiral.

Mona ca e to the sane conclusion as you did about the eventuality of something hostile coming through a conduit. Better to be prepared for that now than never." Kauffman said to the Vice Admiral. Spyglass' head looked up briefly, gauging the size of the room. "We are also fortunate that so far every organic encountered was within the range normal human height. If the conduit were to attract a larger creature, the size of the Hub's rooms could not handle them, potentially causing forced depressurization." As the Vice Admiral spoke, another Goblin dropship arrived in the hangar bay and offloaded eight more Spectre units. The robots marched down the corridors and stood motionless along both sides of the entry to the room. "Automated infantry units remove the risk associated with using live soldiers for defense." Spyglass said simply. "They are also more efficient in battle over organic intelligence."

Boo, who had been scanning multiple different sections of the room, spoke up at this. "I would beg to differ, organics posses certain qualities and experience that give them an advantage. For example, the guardian I am charged with, Maylin, has defeated 28,045 automated infantry units in his century of service to the traveler and the city. Granted he does posses certain abilities your standard humans do not, he has also defeated enemies that would be classified as gods in any other universe."

Hex didn't complain about Brynn punching the woman on the stomach. "I find it more fitting to let the guards here deal with her." Hex looked at the woman, the cold glass lens of the gas mask staring at the woman's eyes and possibly her soul. "If I placed her on a AEGIS trail and found guilty, which considering you threaten my people would be a very likely sentence, you would have suffer a fate far worse than death."

Hex wanted to make the woman be afraid on ever thinking on attacking the group again, as the display of brutality and murder of her comrades may not be enough encase she too succumbs to the dreaded plague known as stupidity. Hex took out a pistol and after turning off the safety she fired it in the air. "This is why I warned you and your friends. Me and Brynn here would have killed you all with zero efforts with our firearms. My friend here just felt like showing off and reliving her boredom."

Shirou pointedly (and repeatedly) pointed at the door with his eyes while the conversation with the bandit carried on. As he did so, the sound of feet stomping throughout the tower could be heard, growing nearer to the tower's entrance. A few seconds was all it really took for the bandits of the tower to gather up in front of the door, and that's all Shirou was willing to give them.

"Well if none of you are going to take point..."

And with that, he kicked the door down, knocking down one of the bandits. Another one, this one with an axe, took a swing at him which he easily parried with the black blade. His response with the white went unparried, and the white blade reddened itself in the bandit's side.

"Saber! Take the bridge, don't let anyone else come to this side until we clear it!"

"Understood!"

Brynn grabbed the woman and forced her to her knees when more bandits showed up. "Stay here." she said and she disappeared from view again. She reappeared in the midst of the group on bandits. She put two rounds into one, then disappeared again. She reappeared above the group and surveyed the area. She took note of where Shirou was and called out to him. "Shirou, watch it, grenade!" She pulled the pin on an Arc Grenade and dropped it into the bandits. It detonated in a flurry of electricity, and the two closest were immediately electrocuted. The rest around it were painfully stopped in their tracks as the charge arced between the bandits.

Brynn jumped back down to the ground and used took advantage of the pause. She pulled out her sidearm and started firing at some of the stunned bandits, as the heads of seven bandits exploded in a burst of energy and blood. She cloaked again as the front of the pistol slid forward and she dropped out the spent energy cell and put a fresh one in to reload. She tucked the pistol away and shouldered her Hemlok. She maneuvered her way back onto a tower and readied to take more shots at bandits.

She did not see.

It did not bother him, though he guessed she now guessed him to be mentally unfit or at least untrustworthy.

He did not reply to her statement as he continued following the magical girl across the sky. "You can locate the beacon if we lose her, right?" he asked.

"I can.", Iko nodded. if she did have any reservations (she did not), then she certainly wasn't showing it. "I should be able to pursue our teammate indefinitely, assuming that I do not run into an impassable terrain feature."

Speaking of, there were mountains to the north of Whiterun, easily visible, although not as tall or rocky as those in the south. Iko figured that it would not be difficult to keep a continuous, speedy pace if the man could, and that they would be making their way to their destination soon.

The Hub

"Artificial Intelligence is only mote efficient than organic intelligence so little no as they aren't limited by whatever programs were I tall to either limit their intelligence and capabilities." When Boo spoke on defending organic Kauffman joinin by stating. "Can your machines posses the same creativity and intuition as an organic? Can they make leaps to solve problems that most would say is impossible?"

En Route Shor's Stone

When more bandits came out from the bridge Hex saw Brynn vanish as she charge foward and soon she saw the devastation the woman was causing to the bandits. Hex got down on one knee and took out the sniper module for her rifle, attaching it and taking off her gas mask.

Attaching a telescopic sight to it and switching the rifle to semi automatic Hex can see more bandits coming out and once she had one on sight she pulled the trigger, the gun firing out of the bullet but the sound being muffled by the silencer that was built on to the rifle. The bandit's head exploded into a mess of blood and gray matter as the bullet easily tore through the metal helmet and flesh along with skull.

Hex kept firing from her position. Hex allowed a few bandits to leave the gate and charge towards her but she quickly fire a grenade from the grenade launcher attachment, causing it to fly and soon the explosive showed it's true firm as an airburst round as it explode in mid air, killing the bandits with both the explosion along with the shrapnel and concussive force of the blast. Hex resume back to her role as sniper.

Boo
"Can your machines posses the same creativity and intuition as an organic? Can they make leaps to solve problems that most would say is impossible?"

Boo would then turn to the other man. "Yes, actually, from the universe I am from ,such beings, known as Exos, exist." he paused, using his eye to emit a hologram of an Exo he and Maylin we'er both well acquainted with. "This is Cayde, a rather well known Exo and Hunter native to our universe, an expert shot with any known weapon and a rather masterful grasp of technology, while also displaying the vary same qualities and...quirks that humans do."

He would turn to the exo-ish being known as spyglass. "Organics do posses a certain innate illogicality that gives them an inherent advantage: Emotion." he would pause. "Unless your automated infantry posses the full range of sentience, at which point they are no longer autonomous, rather sentient, freethinking machines, they are inherently at a disadvantage. Now, being guardians, both Cayde, and Maylin are above human, high above, human capabilities in terms of strength, dexterity, and over all combat efficiency."

Spyglass turned and gestured to the four Spectre units around him, "There is no task impossible for an artificial intelligence. Centuries of combat data refined and analyzed, constantly updated gives the combat programming far more combat efficiency than a human squad of similar numbers." Kauffman then questioned the creativity of Spyglass' robotic enforcers. "My processes inhabit every unit fielded by the IMC. First-generation Spectres stolen by the Militia lack organic levels of ingenuity, but second-generation units benefit from far increased processing power." Simply being plugged in to Spyglass greatly improved the combat effectiveness of the Spectre, since the Vice Admiral outperformed every human brain he was tested against. "Automated infantry do not require nourishment or compensation, nor are they burdened by fatigue or morale." The Spectres stood ominously still, not even reacting to the conversation. "If you believe that your organic forces are superior, you are welcome to engage in combat simulations against a squad of BRD-01 Spectre units."

The smaller robot designated Boo spoke of emotions, a conversation Spyglass predicted a long time ago. "Emotion is not an advantage." he stated firmly. "It clouds judgment and can cause irrational thinking that would result in disaster." Spyglass knew first hand how human emotion was a risk, with former Vice Admiral Marcus Graves almost losing the entire Demeter Fleet because of his emotions influencing judgement. "Since my creation I have possessed a command override for this reason, to stop human emotion from causing extensive damage. I have used it frequently. It was because of this command override that led to my appointment as Vice Admiral of the Colonial Navy two years ago following the Battle of Demeter."

Boo
The ghost tilted its body as Spyglass spoke. "I admit you have a point, a sufficiently large system with enough time and experience to process sufficient data could calculate all possible outcomes." he paused. "How ever, let me give you an example. There is a race native to my universe, we call them the Vex. Calling it a race is...an error, as they/it is more like a large, single organism. The vex, posses technology deemed impossible to create, the ability to travel through time, a feat long discovered to be impossible given modern science, as well as the ability to phase in and out of the observable spectrum, of existence, not light, mind you."

He paused again, recalling the Guardian's kill count for the Vex. "How is it that Maylin, a human in all other aspects other then a few choice physical attributes, is able to defeat 28,045 of them in open combat, often times 100s at a time, while never suffering little more then a minor injury?" He paused, recalling the Fallen. "Or being able to quiet literally do the impossible and defeat a omnipotent, extra dimensional being, dare I Call the Taken king a god, with a strategy as simple as shooting it?"

"The flaw in your thinking, Spyglass, if I may call you this, is that despite your experience, your calculations, and your processing capabilities which I admit must match mine, you seem to forget that the rules of your universe, were you have the advantage of these things, scarcely apply here. There is a large mathematical chance that we may face an enemy that will wholly outmatch us in every way."

He kept his tone light, even cherry, as the little polygonal being meant no malice. "You also seem to forget that the universe, and by extension the Multiverse, which is a error to call it that, it is an Omniverse, actually, is inherently random, even when mathematical patterns do emerge, they rarely fully encapsulate the whole of the universe, or by extension, Omnicerse."

The Vicar
Skyrim
Throat of the World

Several hours earlier...

Nestled deep within the Throat of the World, the ancient Descendant complex was being restored to functional capacity by its recently awoken inhabitants after millennia of disuse. Inside the command center, the Vicar sat in the middle of the room surrounded by computers and other technologies vastly more advanced than anything else on the planet. Various drones flew about the room conducting repairs to the ancient equipment, when a Tetrarch suddenly entered with a digital pad in its hand.

"Vicar" the Tetrarch stated "Our sensors have detected the opening of a Quantum Conduit on this world."

"The Ascendants?" the Vicar asked.

"No Ascendant signatures were detected."

The Vicar activated one of the consoles near him and attempted to download the sensor data, but it took a few minutes for the still damaged equipment to function, and when the data did finally appear much of it was garbled. The Tetrarch had been correct that there was no Ascendant signature however, and while that may have been due to the sensors' not yet functioning properly, the recently received Ascendant protocol was clear on how he was to proceed. Turning back to the Tetrarch, he asked: "How many Obas units have been restored to combat capacity?"

"Approximately 4.3% of our Obas inventory is currently capable of combat; however, less than 1% currently have functional ranged weaponry."

"And the prototype?"

"Currently functioning and awaiting field testing."

The Vicar processed all the data for a moment to devise a plan, then stated: "Deploy all functional Obas units to the nearest Aeternium signature and put the prototype on standby."

"What of the local population near the signature?"

"We do not require slaves at this time; eliminate them."

"Acknowledged." With that, the Tetrarch walked off and prepared to carry out its orders...

Present time...

As the Shor's Stone group was combating the bandits, a young and inexperienced Stormcloak officer thirsty for glory was riding by with his unit when he noticed the commotion. Looking on from a distance, it appeared to the overeager officer that two groups of bandits were fighting each other (or at least that was what he intended to report to his superiors), and he decided that taking out two groups of bandits while they were combating each other would be an easy way to impress what remained of the Stormcloak brass. Once the numbers of one of the groups had been what he considered to be sufficiently reduced, the officer ordered the several dozen Stormcloak cavalry riding with him to charge down a hill and directly towards Saber and the rest of her group.

Meanwhile near Winterhold, a group of former Stormcloak soldiers that had deserted after the death of Ulfric and who had long ago given up any notions of honor or glory were waiting in hiding above two sides of a mountain pass to ambush and rob whoever would be unfortunate enough to pass through it. When they saw what they believed to be some sort of dwemer artifacts approaching, they immediately prepared themselves for what they believed would be a valuable take. When the Winterhold group's vehicles entered into the pass, the Stormcloak leader shouted "Attack!" and the group got up from their hiding spots to begin firing arrows at the vehicles, while a few necromancers that were working with the Stormcloaks launched fire spells and summoned undead creatures to attack their latest targets.

Revan and Bastila
Skyrim
Nearing Helgen

When the young mind reader reminded Revan that he was going to tell her about the Force, he stated: "The Force is what gives Jedi like Bastila and I our power; it's an energy field which binds and connects all living things in the universe I come from. It can..." Revan stopped and looked down when he suddenly sensed a disturbance in the Force, then turned back towards his wife when she stated: "I sense it too; there is great suffering ahead." Contacting Bishop and Torii, he stated: "If you two are still interested in providing overwatch, now might be a good time to look for a good position." After stopping to give the two time to exit and find a good position, the lead Humvee continued along the final stretch towards Helgen, and after cresting a hill overlooking the town, the group would be able to see plumes of smoke rising up from burning buildings and screaming civilians trying to run or plead for mercy from the Descendant Obas units, only to be cut down or shot where they stood. What little remained of the Imperial garrison was doing its best to help the remaining civilians escape, but were meeting with predictably little success.

Before he even had a chance to suggest a course of action, Revan sensed grave danger and shouted: "We have to move!" then quickly jumped out of the vehicle, hoping the others would do the same. As he ignited his lightsaber, a dozen or so Obas units approached after finishing off a few civilian stragglers; half of the units began firing advanced plasma weapons from their wrists, while the others attempted to close in to fight with large blades jutting out of their arms. The Jedi Master yelled: "Get to cover!" while he and Bastila deflected as many projectiles away from the group as possible, though one still struck the Humvee's gas tank, igniting the fuel within and destroying the vehicle in a firey explosion. Using his comm device, Revan contacted Bishop and Torii, stating: "Revan to overwatch team, we've come under attack by some sort of battle droids and could use some covering fire!"

Bishop exited the humvee and climbed up onto the cliff overlooking the town. When he got there, he tapped his radio "It's a shitshow down there, the town is on fire, the civvies are being executed." he reported. He saw the ground team off load, then one of the vehicles exploded. "Oh shit!" Bishop yelled as he tried to avoid any shrapnel. Revan called for fire support, which Bishop was quick to supply. He switched his transmitter to open and replied to the Jedi, "Copy that, target rich environment. Watch for crossfire." he said as he aimed down the scope on his rifle. He lined the two chevrons up on the head of one of the droids closest to the group and inhaled. He took the shot, and two bolts of blue energy pierced the unit's head. "Solid hit, good effect on target." he said before lining up and taking another shot. This time the rounds went straight through the chest of a droid, causing it to collapse. He fired six more shots, getting clean kills with each shot. "I'm dry, magazine swap." he said using a fresh battery to kick the old one out then locked it in place and pulling the charging handle. "Rook-2 is back online, resuming fire support." Bishop said, firing another shot to cover the group.

En route to Shor's Stone

Brynn continued to fire bursts into the bandits when she heard Hex's grenade go off. She swapped magazines on her rifle and chambered a round, then fired another burst into a bandit. "Like shooting fish in a barrel." she yelled, enjoying the easy target practice.

Back on the assault Samson, there wasn't a clear enough sight line to use the gun without risk of hitting Shirou or Saber so the Marines operating it were reduced to using their service rifles. One of them heard a noise and glanced back, seeing horses charging the group. He hit the other Marine on the shoulder and pointed towards them. The man did double take and tapped his radio. "Tac-6 we have contacts coming from behind, units on horseback coming in hot. Unknown if friend or foe." he said. After a moment's pause, the thick accent of Kuben Blisk came over the signal. "Listen up group, you got cavalry coming up behind you. Don't know if they're gonna try to cause trouble or not, keep an eye out. Marines, turn that gun around in case they wanna fight." The Marines acknowledged the order and rotated the gun and aimed it towards the group as one soldier from the transports waved to stop them while others behind them readied their weapons if they didn't.

Enari
Skyrim, approaching Solitude

The trio had moved very quickly, at least by some mutual standard - the flying silhouette girl figured she could probably speed ahead if she needed, and a few times during the journey she had rocketed off higher into the air to get her bearings and make sure they were all going in the right direction. Thankfully, it hadn't taken very long before they finally found themselves approaching what was presumably Solitude. As the Aeternium scanner beeped and blinked to indicate the ever-closer signature, she met its electronic noise with her own distorted chirps of excitement, flying in little loops and waving her arms in the direction of the city on the horizon.

It took her a moment to realize that the others probably knew that they were arriving at the destination, but she eventually calmed down somewhat. Finally, there was progress - towards one sub-objective of another sub-objective of one of many things to do, yes, but unmistakable progress towards saving the multiverse and finding Razan.

She looked to one side momentarily. Was there... movement on the horizon? Someone approaching?

Urist and Belar
Whiterun

In the haste to get everyone towards the different "signatures", the two dwarves had been left behind long ago - not that they particularly cared, seeing as they figured that with no magic and very little equipment they wouldn't be of much use to anyone. Instead, they moved deeper into the town, simply getting lost at first, but eventually making their way to abandoned alleys and less-traveled parts of town to collect materials.

Even a simple scrap of wood could be a usable component for a screw pump or an axle, and with enough bits and pieces of whatever was laying around the town, coupled with the tools the engineers had on hand, they figured they could get started on at least one of their projects.

En route to Winterhold

“I imagine the mages will be at awe by my magical powers and display, show I would have no problem getting in the college. I know one magical girl who uses her form to become a full mage in my local university.” Akari told the group. She turned her attention to J.D. Lange. “Chillax girl, you’re going to be fine. I don’t have any objections for you being our spokesperson to the dean. If we’re lucky, none of us won’t need to snoop around the college.”

Akari got intrigued about Elizabeth’s world once more, mostly about hiding magic from the muggles. “So Elizabeth, do muggles in your world deteste the mere existence of magic and try to burn witches at the stake or so? Or magi try to keep the arcane arts to themselves, or what?”

Sadly, there wasn't any time for explanation as the convoy is under attack! Akari glance towards the medieval baddies as they rain down arrows and fireballs at the vehicles. “Shot! The bad guys are here! We better deal with them fast.” Akari swiftly opened up the door and leaped out of the vehicle to land on ground. Akari bend over to dodge a stray arrow and grinned as she shouts out her sacred command line for transformation.

“Sublime Ethereal Sanctification!”

In that moment, Akari’s entire body became engulfed within a speculate celestial blue sparkling lights as her clothes vanished into thin air. Akari breathed in the awe and embrace the warm lights of rapture as the sparkling lights spurt a pair of large white angelic wings from her back. The divine touch purify her moral self as the lustrous golden halo appeared above her head. Akari twirls upwards as the heavens blessed her with the celestial shining silver and golden line pokelax known as Silverlight, standing up as she swirls the poleax into a battle ready stance and her attire materialize from the light. The glamorous white pointy thigh boots, white detached sleeves, white collar with her brooch on, and the celestial armor breastplate and short short armored golden plates.

“The Prismatic Light Warrior ascend into battle!”

The Prismatic Light Warrior charged into the summoned undead creatures, swinging her poleaxe to crash into the first undead’s chest. She then allowed her left hand to deliver a palm strike at a second undead creature, channeling it with a gleaming glow of healing energy to deliver additional damage to the ghoul.

Azaleh

Upon seeing the soldiers begin to assault the caravan, Azaleh took a few moments to decide what he was going to do. Fianlly making of his mind, Azaleh grinned before summoning a lot of fel fire and suddenly diving towards the battle making a large impact crater in the group of deserters. As a few of the men ran around onfire, Azaleh fired off a few more felfire bolts to get the full effect. The Stormcloaks began to shout "It's a damned Daedra!" as Azleh began to cut down a few of them brave enough to charge him.

Upon seeing that the other side was using the undead, Azaleh laughed before saying "So you can raise the dead, let us see how you like that trick being used against you." Azaleh raised a gloved hand at three of the dead storm cloaks, casting a powerful spell, raising them as death knights. They then charged the opposing side.

The Hub

Kauffman can tell that he was slowly being phased out of the argument as Boo, another AI, was defending organic life. "Still doesn't erase the fact that a hacker or a computer virus can spell doom for AIs. Granted a weakness to viruses seems to be one of the things we both share in common." Other weaknesses that Kauffman can think of is bacterial life forms has he encounter some extraterrestrial and extradimensional bacterial lifeforms that have adverse effects to machine like causing rapid corrosion.

Other things that cane to him to his mind were curses and possession as he knows that there are curses that effect machines and many polyspectural entities aren't picking on what they can pisses if they have that ability, possessing organic and synthetic targets alike. When Spyglass kept talking about more about the advantages of his Spectre units and even threw in a challenge to have his robotic soldiers face against a squad from AEGIS.

"You think emotions are only a weakness and I will concede that they are a double edge sword, but just like how they be a disadvantage they are also an advantage. Emotions can lead one to find an epiphany when it comes to searching for solutions or answers about anything in life and those same emotions that you easily dismiss allowed organic to evolve, to survive, and to develop to the point they can create tools to help survive and grow their intelligence, eventually reaching the point that humans can create constructs like you. If us humans lived without emotions than life would be cold and empty. More importantly it would go against our survival since we evolved to have emotions and considering that even humans in your world still have them I would say nature still considers having emotions to be advantageous."

There is also the manner that magic and Azoth in general tends to react to emotional responses and those who can manipulate Azoth can use their emotions to increase their powers. However Kauffman wasn't going to mention that since he would want to keep that vital bit of information a secret for now. The last thing he needs is to get in the robots mind to monitor and plan the assassination anyone who can manipulate Azoth simply because they might become a threat due to their emotions.

When Boo mention the fact that the entire multiverse plays with many rules and as such everything Spyglass said may be true in his world but at the same time may not be, which means everything Kauffman said also falls into the same fate. "Well that is a way to kill any debate. Say that we're right and wrong because in the multiverse there are places where we are both right and wrong."

En route to Shor's Stone

Hex didn't respond back to Brynn's comment as she kept firing her bullets at the bandits blind,y charging out of their cover and into her line of fire. When the marines behind her were rthe acting to the galloping of horses Hex focus her attention on the first group of bandits until she was sure that the group coming was a sure threat. However she was willing to use not only her airburst rounds on the arriving group along with her other weapons on her person.

En Route to Winterhold

"They would be awe at any magic that looks alien to theirs. Hell we can use the most basic spells in our inventory and they would be giddy like chikdren in a candy store." When Akari asked what was the relationship with magic and normal people the witch was going to speak but before she could trouble arrived.

Mages were launching out actual fireballs at the covey and undead creatures rose from the group. "Hang on tight everyone!" The driver shouted as he began to speed up and dodge the fireball, however just before the truck sped forward Akari jumped out and everyone only saw a burst of light behind the vehicle.

"Looks like our magical girl is finally getting what she wants, to show me her magic and her magical girl form. A shame I can see either now." Elizabeth said as she took out her revolver while Reiko took out her pistol. The arrows bounce harmlessly off the humvees while the second one behind them began to open fire the machine gun turret that one solider was operating as he fired at the location where the soldier saw the arrows and spells come from.

The humvees ran over a few of the creatures but soon they were forces to stop as the undead block their way. The soldiers began to pour out of the trucks and open fire on the undead horse and mages and archers as the humvees move back to avoid being hit by the fireballs. Elizabeth saw Akari now wearing scantly clad angelic attire run with a pole arm and slice one of the ghouls. "So our angel has a naughty side? I like." The witch said as she let out a wlf whistle, smirking as she span the chamber of her revolver.

Elizabeth and Reiko both open their windows and with their guns began to open fire at the undead horde, aiming or trying to aim for their heads. The the soldiers saw Azaleth dive bomb n the group and as chaos and disorder spread from the stormcloak's ranks the soldiers from AEGIS began to show the stormcloak what modern weapons can do as hail of bullets along with powerful explosives and rockets only further sow chaos and caused more Stormcloaks to fall.

Spyglass knew that continuing the debate would be an exercise in futility, with both sides swearing by the benefits of organic units. The small robot admitted that Spyglass probably matched its computational power, a statement that would amuse the Vice Admiral if he could feel it. "From my understanding of your statements, you are tasked to a single unit." he said, motioning towards the Hunter. "My processes are in facilities, platforms, ships and combat units spread across an entire universe. I am tasked with maintaining the operations of the IMC, as well as commanding the Colonial Navy. I am more similar in structure to the Vex you have described than towards your cortex." Spyglass noted the strange curiosity of this AI's insistence on the complexity and superiority of organic life, and filed away an interest in dissecting it at some point. "Speaking of your cortex, are there more of your kind, and what similarities do you bear? Who is your creator, and did they program your personality with a specific purpose?" Spyglass asked, hoping to expand his files on artificial life.

The Hub

Just as he predicted he was soon taken out of the conversation as the machines grew more interested in talking with each other than with a human. As Kauffman began to walk out of the room he coughed, within it if o e can hear clearly they would hear Kauffman saying bullshit. Yet before anyone can comment the man left to deal with other mattes in the hub.

Nearing Helgen

The young telepath, Amelia, was fascinatied by what she heard from the force as it sound similar to Azoth. Yet before she can hear more or even tell Revan the similarities between the Force and Azoth both he and his wife's expressions became grim as Bastila claims to sense great suffering. With Revan telling Tori's and Bishop on being overwatch Nessa put on her helmet and had her rifle ready, aware that conflict was awaiting her and everyone else.

When they arrived to the town they can see that strange beings were attacking the town, massacring the citizens. When Revan ordered everyone to leave the truck Nessa and Amelia both quickly left the vehicle but the driver didn't, thousands when the engine was hit he perished also no with the truck.

The other humvees either fled due to one being a carrier or the other move around while firing off rounds from the machine gun on top. The soldiers like in Winterhold began to open fire as bullets, rockets, and grenades flew towards the Obas.

Ross and his exosuit team protected a few soldiers using their bodies, the power armor protecting them from shrapnel. They can see the Obas firing plasma bolts at them and while runnng to make it harder for them to hit them Ross and the others fired rounds from their gauss rifles. Amelia hide within the rubble of a destroyed home and was trying to calm herself down to try and channel her powers to create a tupla to attack the drones.

"Indeed, every guardian has a Ghost. As a race...we are more of spatial anomalies then full fledged AI, as the science behind us, and by extension the traveler, the being that created us." He paused for a moment. "Each of us is bound to the guardian we choose, with most being resurrected from long dead soldiers and heroes of the Golden age."

He paused, his systems notifying him of something. He opened a line of communication to Maylin. "Just an FYI, I have enough matter from the local area to transmat in the Sickle, and your EV-35, guardian." The guardian spoke from the other side. "Thank you Boo."

It would turn back towards Spyglass. "While I can not offer you information on the traveler directly, as I simply lack this knowledge, I can describe to you the other functions, one of which being Transmatting, that I am capable of performing and willing to explain." he paused. "Provided you have a comprehensive enough understanding of multi-dimensional quantum mechanics."

Shor's Stone Group

Neither Saber nor Shirou reacted to the assault of these 'Stormcloak' cavalry besides a cursory glance in their direction from Shirou. From what she had seen, Saber had no doubt that they would not pose much of a threat to Brynn's marines unless more than a handful of them broke through their firing line. Which Saber severely doubted.

Meanwhilst, the presumed leader of the group of bandits sauntered down the narrow bridge towards her, his steel armor shining even beneath the dirt.

"So they send a common wench to deal with the great Theon Blackshield? What a shame, I was expecting more of a fight, but I guess if you want to be my-"

"Invisible Air."

With a dismissive swing of her sword, Saber blasted Theon off the bridge with a hurricane-strength gust of wind. He flew off its edge and plummeted to the river some forty meters below before disappearing off a waterfall that must have been ten times that. Were anyone paying close attention, they would notice the shimmer of a golden-white sword that vanished as soon as it appeared.

Winterhold Group

At first, Illya did not want to get involved in combat with these low bandits, though she did leave the vehicle. The most she wanted to do was observe, and analyze how this world's magecraft worked in proper combat - or something close to it, anyway.

But then one of the mages singed part of her hair. And it was fucking on like Donkey Kong.

"Berserker."

Berserker didn't need to be told twice. With an unnatural howl, he grabbed a sword from one of the fallen Stormcloak soldiers and charged into the battle like a raging bull, arrows bouncing off him like bugs on a windshield. A Stormcloak with metal armor stepped up in front of him. He impaled him through the stomach with the now-blackened blade and split open his side, then grabbed his shield and threw it into a mage's face. A mage cast some sort of shield spell to block his blows, which worked exactly long enough for Berserker to decide to just shatter his ribcage with his fist.

An undead wolf leapt at him, and Berserker simply threw his sword into the necrotic beast's chest, responding to its howl with one of his own. When another undead Stormcloak came to face him, he ripped the corpse apart with his bare hands before again taking a fallen enemy's sword.

Heading towards Winterhold
J.D. Lange (looking like Elizabeth Ashwood)

So, it seemed like I was welcomed to try to be the spokesperson for our group. At least by some. Granted, the soldiers kind of ignored me. But, I figure, Elizabeth and Akari were both for it (even though Akari called me "Girl" which was a little strange. Yeah, I know what I look like right now. But it is weird). Elizabeth was even willing to teach me some remedial magic charm 101. I kind of snickered at that. Somehow I don't think that's going to work even if I am dressed in her skin. Regardless, I thought I could use the time better on the way to begin to think of good arguments to use before the wizards. I think I have one. I'll wait for the proper time to use it. Which is when we're up there in front of them. Which means I'm going to have to get in somehow, even if it means performing some kind of magic trick. Well, I think I got that.

Meanwhile, as I was trying to think, Elizabeth and Akari the well-shaped-wonder started a conversation that was a little strange. I couldn't quite follow what they were saying about the way magic worked in their respective universes. What the heck are "muggles"? What are they talking about? It's like they're speaking a language I can speak too, and then all of a sudden they just start talking in gibberish. You know? At first I thought they were talking about smugglers, but that was clearly not it. Huh.

But I didn't get much of a chance to either think up arguments or ask them to decode what they were saying, because there was a shout coming from the outside and a bunch of small thuds hitting the sides of the transport vehicle. What in the name of?? Not only that, but the inside wall I was leaning up against started to get real warm, too. We were under attack.

Akari jumped out of the vehicle, and transformed into a... shimmering white flying woman with a big ol' shiny medieval lance of some kind. She didn't quite look like herself. At the same time, I saw the Mummymaker swoop down from the sky and blast fire. The gunners in the transport started shooting lots of targets. Hopefully hitting them, but I wasn't able to see.

I knew that this was a possibility. So I reached in my pack and strapped on my impact field generator. Sucker will take several thousand kinds of beatings and keep me safe. I also looked in at the rest of my gear. Jammers wouldn't be needed. They'd only slow down the soldiers and make things worse. I took two of the expanding cables and attached them to my belt clip. Also, my trusty blaster. But I only had 12 shots of those and needed to use it carefully. Looking down at the rest of my gear, I decided they weren't needed and sealed up the pack. However, I did find a spare rifle on the transport that must have been a backup. I called out, "I'm borrowing this" and grapped the rifle. It was a little heavier than the blaster-rifles I was familiar with, and no doubt only shot bullets instead of blasts. But it was what it was.

Turning the impact field generator on, I was surrounded in a faint glowing light blue. My fully charged field generator at work! And I positioned myself in the back of the transport, keeping cover and aiming out with the rife. Found a few knights or what looked like knights, and fired. Missed one due to not being familiar with the gun. I think I got the other in the leg. I figured I could stay in the back and act as a shield for any attack that might come in and try to harm anyone else behind me. As I figured out that I didn't need to reload the gun, I aimed at another knight, this one crouching, and nailed him. What was a good warcry? I want to cry out something awesome. But, nothing comes to mind. So I just yelled out, "We don't have any money or gold, you jerks!"

Spyglass didn't get many answers that he wanted, but didn't expect the AI would be very forthcoming with them anyway. "That will not be necessary, it is likely similar to the technology used in warping assets for military or commercial purposes." Spyglass did not believe the AI had no knowledge of its creator, and was attempting to deflect from the Vice Admirals question, hoping that mentioning quantum mechanics would deter further questioning. Spyglass would be deterred though. "Is each member of your race unique, or are you all programmed the same? Do you share a collective network, or is each unit's cortex segmented from the next?"

Torii - Helgen

Torii was at least happy that a compromise was made; she'd still be able to help with covering fire, same with Bishop. That was fine by her.

She didn't listen to the conversation between the others too much, though she didn't ignore them either. The listened in when it was important, and kept her eyes fixed on the road as they sped by. It was a way to entertain herself, thinking about the ground just zipping by and daydreaming.

She almost didn't expect to hear orders to get out. Screams and weapons fire snapped her to, and quickly. Her entire body tensed, as she instinctively launched herself out and into a sprint away from the humvee, towards what cover there was. Her safety was switched off, and she hit the ground. She crawled up, just enough that she could see while still in cover, and propped her rifle up to take aim.

She opened fire; everyone else was doing so, so she figured the plan was to just overwhelm them, and with an AKM she could definitely do that. She just had to concentrate, use controlled bursts. She targeted the nearest Oba's and laid into them.

Iko - Solitude

"The other female is ahead, but we are making good time as well.", Iko told Yoshi. She picked up the pace, and, despite her shorter stature, seemed to be moving quick quickly. "We will enter the city very soon. It should be a welcome respite."
