Brynn shrugged when asked about mech suits. "Don't ask me mate, go back a couple centuries and ask Dr. Hammond. I just work for the company. I didn't design 'em, I don't build 'em." Hex mentioned that they'd be a big target "Yea, they would be if everyone didn't run away or get killed. They work, that's why we use 'em" Brynn said simply. It wasn't her place to understand the science, she was just glad it worked.

Suddenly Hex wanted to get scientific and how the IMC had jump drives but not fusion cores. "Far as I know they made a fusion reactor, but it's still too costly to run and too big to miniaturize to put in anything useful. And we've been a bit busy trying to restore order to focus on that. Maybe if there weren't terrorist attacks on our facilities we'd get it done."

The question about Earth was by far the easiest. "Some people still live on Earth, nowhere near as many as there were centuries ago. Most people live in the star systems closest to it, called the Core Systems. There's a lot of settled and habitable planets lightyears away from that called the Frontier. That's where all the trouble is, at least for now." Brynn explained.

Suddenly they had to slow up because some people demanded money. Brynn sighed and tossed her helmet to the driver. "Here, hold this. I won't be out there long enough to need it." Brynn opened the door and hopped down, grabbing her rifle and slinging it over her shoulder. "Oh come on Hex, you think they're gonna just leave?" She asked loud enough for the group to hear. "Nah mate, this lot here looks stupid enough to try and run their mouth, but not strong enough to back it up." She sized up the group in front of them. "In fact, you might as well get back in the truck, I could take 'em all in a fight on me own." she said holding her arms out wide. "They aren't that tough, I've seen dogs with more muscle than them."

The Watchman
The Hub
Conference Room

"Well, I do have these two revolvers that might kill at least, perhaps, maybe a human follower of the Ascendants or someone similar." the Watchman addressed, twirling his guns with his hands. Then, another arrival who behaved almost similarly to the Watchman appeared in the conference room, including another after that. "Do you have to keep showing the newcomers the same message on that-.. I know everything is advanced, but can we make a more laconic answer instead of a complicated briefing on that wall?"

Maylin

Perhaps it wasnt smart to transmat right int he middle of the core of the dreadnought going nuclear.

"Something is going on, I have a massive spike in energy readings across the whole spectrum! This....is bad." for once in a long time, the silent hunter spoke. "Well...shit."

The world around him morphed from the usual semi-digital mosaic of light that was a transmat in to a orange-y red hew that completely perplexed him. Suddenly, he was floating, weightless in...this rather peaceful purgatory. His ghost, who he affectionately called "Boo", spoke before he could though. "Before you ask, I haven't the faintest of ideas were we are."

He sighed. "Well, at least...nope, this is a vacuum, i'm going to run out of O2 in...16 minutes. Great." Boo spoke up. "Wait, i'm getting some....oh....oh my." Maylin was annoyed at this point. "Yes, my pale friend." The ghost materialized in front of him, the inertia of his formation causing him to tilt ever so slightly. "Well, to be frank...we'er being pulled in to a worm hole." A few seconds of silence passed as the guardian stared at the ghost. "Welp, fuc-" Then the gravity hit him.

A gut wrenching felling of falling Waaaaay to damn fast hit him and he saw a flash of light before hitting something really, really hard. A groan escaped his lips before the world came back in to focus. He was laying on a metal table in the center of a strange room. He looked around, the many small view points on his helmet glowing blue as if his head were a large insect's. He saw strange people, all stopped in their tracks at the sight of the strange suited figure.

Then he saw most of them were armed. His Suroa Regime lay on the floor some feet way, as did his Void Edge. His hand instantly went for the side arm on his hip and he brought Vestian Dynasty up to bear, but not before he rolled off the opposite edge of the table, putting some cover between him and the strangers.

"Anyone mind telling me were I am."

Whiterun

The whole departure process from whiterun to Winterhold began to creep into a long slow day. Akari yawned as she walked towards the Humvee that will travel to Winterhold. It seemed Azeleh decided to become a vulture to hang around the convoy and savage for food. It somewhat fit him. There wasn’t much left to be done here, so Akari entered the first Humvee where Elizabeth and Jane were in.

“Mind if I sit with you guys?” Akari asked.

Maylin

He kept his stance as the white haired man explained to him the situation. Still, he kept the side arm leveled on him, cross-hairs centered on his forehead. Before he could say anything, Boo appeared with a slight blue flash. Flying towards the man, he stopped abruptly and scanned the man with a blue light. "He isn't lying, Guardian, although I am getting some strange readings from him."

He sighed and lowered the pistol. "I don't know what is more sad, the fact that its true, or the fact that shit like this just doe snot surprise me anymore." He walked over and retrieved his Void Edge, checking the Hadium blade for damage and breathing easy when it showed none. He slipped it on to his back, the mag-lock on the back of his suit holding it there.

He walked over and retrieved his Suros next, reloading the then empty gun and holstering the side arm. He turned back to the others while Boo began to scan the room bit by bit. "I'm Maylin, that's Boo, he's harmless, me, not so much."

Outside Whiterun
J.D. Lange (looking like Elizabeth Ashwood)

So other than the fact that I knew I wasn't going with Hex's group - thankfully so, I really had no idea what was needed with my group at Winterhold. So, we're supposed to talk to a college of wizards or something? Like, saying what? 'Hey, we're looking for something weird that we think you have, and just let us take it and we can go?' Somehow, I'm pretty sure that won't work.

Someone else was getting in one of the vehicles of our group, transport of some kind, so I followed. And Elizabeth was there, trying to take a nap. So was Moody Jane. I sat down across from Elizabeth and said, "Hey guys." Looking up at the girl I had followed in - actually, a woman, a very attractive and well-shaped woman, I said, "Suit yourself." And I extended my hand to her and said, "I know it looks like we're twins" (motioning to Elizabeth), "but that's not how it is. My name's J.D. J.D. Lange. Long story."

(It's always weird when I have the form of a woman, as I did now with Elizabeth. I am still attracted to certain kinds of women even though I am in a woman's body. But I'm still a man. Still J.D. And that makes any kind of relationship very awkward to say the least. Because the kind of woman I would like to get to know better is not the kind of woman who would be attracted to another woman. But that's what I look like, even though I'm not. So needless to say, I don't even try. It's a waste of time and emotion).

Then, to everyone, "So guys, I'd like to know what our plan is here. It seems to me that just going up to a bunch of strange wizards knowing as little as we do isn't going to get us far. I'd think we should have some kind of strategy or something. Because, we're looking for this piece that goes with the Hub for it to make conduits, or something? Right? Do we have some way to track this at the wizard's school? Do we just try to talk to the head honcho and see if he knows anything? Do we do something else? I figure, if we have some kind of rough plan as to what we're doing, the rest can be improvised." The thought of having to try to become a student to get in to the wizard college seemed way overboard for what I was hoping to accomplish. But who knows what these wizards have established for strangers to come onto their school grounds? Man. Without a strategy, I didn't see us getting really far.

Enroute to Shor's Stone

The bandit with the sword was feeling logical that day, and logic dictated that for a bandit, when faced with superior numbers of combatants of superior quality with superior equipment, one should put their damn sword down and let them pass.

So she begrudgingly stabbed her sword into the earth and raised her hands submissively.

"Fine, fine, I know better than to fight against impossible odds, you can-"

The bandit on top of the near tower was not feeling logical. His more recent cuts of the payouts hadn't been very good, and his skooma addiction was growing hungrier by the minute. He was sober, which meant he wasn't happy. And they were out of skooma, which meant he extra wasn't happy. All in all he was in a really pissy mood. What better way to calm himself down than to kill that bitch that came out of one of the horseless carriages?

He fired a single iron arrow at Brynn's head. It never got there. In one fluid motion, Saber leapt from her horse, slid in front of Brynn, and bisected the arrow so that its two parts landed just beneath the doorsill of the vehicle she had left. The bandit with the sword yelped and quickly abandoned her post. Saber tut-tutted in obvious disappointment, but said nothing because the bandit who had just fired at Brynn was talking.

"Screw this, and screw whatever they have! Kill 'em all!"

Saber looked at Shirou and tilted her head. Shirou looked at Saber and nodded, forming one black and one white shortsword in each hand with a yin-yang symbol at the base of the red hilt before dismounting. Saber nodded and leapt from her position with enough force to slightly crack the ground, launching herself upwards again off the stone walls of the tower without once changing her grip on the sword. In less than half a second, she was in the air and in front of the bandit who had dared to fire upon Brynn.

Still feeling illogical, the bandit readied his longbow and fired an arrow directly at Saber's chest, which simply bounced off.

The bandit was wearing an iron cuirass and hip armor, with leather vambraces and greaves. But to Saber's invisible sword, he may as well have been in the buff as it bisected him as easily as it had his arrow.

"Come on," said Shirou as he took a ready position next to the tower's main entrance. "There's definitely more inside and I don't think they'll like us killing one of their own very much!"

Golbatman
Golbatman listened to both Revan's and Ross' comments. He thought for a moment. "We restrain them first," he announced, "and then we see if they are lying." Interrogation would be made much easier if they could read minds, unless one were resistant to it. "Just make sure you have a way to bring down the mind reader, just in case," he said aloud. If the mind reader got corrupted, then they could easily take him down. He had several Dark Type Pokémon on his team; all of which were very affective against Psychic types.

Athena and HK-47
The Hub
Conference Room

HK-47 leveled his weapon at the new arrival who brandished a sidearm when he arrived, hoping he'd finally get to see a little action, but like most new arrivals the man lowered his weapon after the situation was explained to him. With a disappointed sigh, HK lowered his weapon as well, and Athena proceeded to address the newcomers:

"Now that the introductions are out of the way, why don't you all take a seat" she stated while motioning towards the nearby chairs "For those of you unfamiliar with the technology, there's a device in this room that can make a visual recording of events on the Hub and play them back on the screen on that wall. If you'd like to know more about the current situation, I can replay a briefing that was held earlier that should help to clarify some things for you." Responding to the Watchman's comment, she continued "Given the nature of the situation we are all currently in, I believe many would prefer the more thorough briefing over a few vague answers. If you do not wish to watch it again however, you are welcome to go to another part of the Hub; though the groups you threatened may wish to keep you under armed guard for the time being."

Walking back to the center console in the room, Athena gave the new arrivals a few seconds to take a seat if they wished, then replayed the briefing and this time allowed the recording to continue playing through some of the questions asked and answers given in the hopes that the old questions might provide answers to some of the new arrivals' questions as well.

Revan and Bastila
Skyrim
En Route to Helgen

"I see no reason to restrain anyone; the gods are already imprisoned in the Asphodel Meadows, so if we speak to them there there's little risk of them escaping. Besides, it would be better if they saw us as rescuers when we speak to them; if we restrain them and they think of us as enemies, they're more likely to try resisting any attempts to read their minds." When Golbatman then mentioned being ready to bring down the mind reader too, Revan looked at his reflection in the Humvee's rear-view mirror for a moment. The man clearly didn't care at all about the well-being of the other group members, and thinking back, Revan started to wonder if perhaps he was working for the Ascendants. After all, as far as he knew, the man had done nothing whatsoever to help their cause up to this point, and he had caught him eavesdropping earlier on the Hub. Maybe the real reason this "Golbatman" wanted to restrain the god when they found him was so that he could kill him and eliminate the group's best chance of finding the Corax.

He made a mental note to keep a close eye on the purple fellow, then after looking at the young mind reader for a moment, replied: "That won't be necessary either; I learned how to free myself from such mental influences through the Force some years ago, and I believe I could use the same technique to free others without resorting to violence. Though it seems these good people have plenty of experience, so as long as caution is exercised, I doubt it will come to that anyway."

As was typical, stupidity won out with the barbarians in front of them and an arrow was fired at Brynn's face. She was about to Phase Shift away from it, but Saber ran interference and stopped it. Then Saber jumped up to the offending archer and cleaved him in half. "Not bad." Brynn commented. "My turn." She activated her Cloak and flickered out of view.

Under the cover of invisibility, she ran towards the tower and jumped towards it, her jumpkit firing and keeping her against the wall as she ran around it to ascend. She got to the top and positioned herself behind the very confused elf who was looking for the Pilot. Her Cloak dropped for a moment as she grabbed the woman and lifted her up before slamming her back on the floor and drove her Data Knife through her eye. Brynn glanced back at the man on the bridge and faded out of sight again.

She leapt from the tower and ran along the bridge, sliding past the man with the shield. she unslung her rifle and pointed it right at his head. She appeared again shortly before putting a two round burst into the man. His helmet didn't do anything to stop the rifle round, and he fell over in a heap. She pointed at the woman that stopped them originally and disappeared again.

She jumped down from the bridge and jumped again right before hitting the ground. The darkskinned woman looked around terrified, waiting for Brynn to show up. Brynn returned to view behind her and tapped her shoulder. Right as she turned around she was met with a sharp blow to the skull from Brynn's sidearm. As she fell to the ground Brynn put one foot on her chest and aimed the Mozambique right at her face. "I don't much like being double-crossed." she said.

Enroute to Shor's Stone

Hex was somewhat glad to hear that one of the bandits was using their primitive brains to realize that fighting them would result in their demise, sadly it was only one of the bandits that have realized the futility of their mugging attempt. As one of the me,bets who look as though belongs bed in a fantasy adventure story tired kill Brynn only to have Saber save her life as the servant than quickly jumped and ended the archer's life by cleaving him in half.

Brynn soon reacted as she vanished before the group, Hex knew that the woman was using an active camo system to be invisible. She soon heard gun shots going off and Brynn soon held the dark skin woman hostage. "Leave the woman alone. I say she earn the right to live for knowing that it was smart to let us be, let's not end her life for the stupidity of her comrades." Hex said, oddly defending the woman.

Hex walked up to the woman and before she can react Hex grabbed her arms and pulled them behind her, handcuffing the woman. "However that still isn't enough to make us forgive and forget your attempt with on robbing us so now you have a choice to make, either we take you to the closest town so the guards can arrest us or you can give us some information about Shor's Stone? If you pick the latter we may let you go."

En Route to Helgen

Ross's voice appeared from the radio after hearing what Revan said. "I have to agree with Revan. If we made it an obvious interrogation than the gods would refuse to give us any answers. If we want them to talk than I suggest we make it more akin to an interview or something similar to that effect. As for taking out mind readers well we have methods and tools to deal with their kind but let's save them as a last resort."

The mind reader seem pleased to hear what Revan said but she soon reminded him that he was going to tell her about the Force.

En Route to Winterhold

No one was against Akari entering the humvee so most allowed her in. As Elizabeth tried to sleep she tried to ignore everything happening around her to sleep but when J.D. mention on making a rough draft of their plan in Winterhold the witch spoke without opening her eyes. "Me and Reiko, along with most mages in general, are magical compasses. We're drawn to locations, objects, and people with magical powers." Elizabeth stated with Reiko agreeing with her on that statement.

"We also have devices that can not only track arcane energy but even view and provide an image to it for most people to see." Reiko added. "As for what we do once we reach the school that is a good question?" Reiko pondered on what to do. The driver spoke up. "Why not have you two keep the headmaster busy showing off magic from our world while we search for the Aeterium signature? If these guys are anything like the Thaumturges from back home they won't refuse the chance on learning a new form of magic."

The two mages were silent for a while. "That idea can work. It would provide a good distraction, assuming nothing goes wrong on our end." Reiko had some issues with the plan as a part of her didn't like the idea of sharing arcane knowledge like that as one of the main tenants of being a mage is secrecy. Even Elizabeth had some resevers over the plan even though now it see,s to be a good one.

The Hub

Kauffman watch as a new person enter but just as it seems things were going to descend downward to utter chaos the new guy put away his gun once he was explained on what was happening to him. Kauffman walked out of the room once Athena was telling them the same thing everyone in Skyrim heard.

Kauffman heard his portable radio blare out and reaching down he took it out and pressed on the button to allow him to speak to whoever was at the other side. "Sir we receive a new shipment from the shuttles have arrived in the hangers." Kauffman said that so far they are doing a good job.

Among the shipment were personal, equipments, and even vehicles and much more. Most either to set the hub as a temporary base of operation and the other to be prepared for either the next mission when the conduits can allow for ,uhh larger objects to go through or for defense encase the hub should be attacked by hostile intruders.

"What has our lab rats found on the weapons?" Kauffman said. The so,dude on the other line said that most of the scientists were still stump on the technology left behind by the previous occupants if the Hub. The soldier also mention of both human and robotic teams being send to explore the less powered halos and corridors of the hub.

"Good work so far. Call me if anything new develops." With those words Kauffman hung up. The man walked back inside to the room. "So our rookies are now aware of what they're in for?"

Maylin

As the golden Exo spoke, Boo scanned her, as well as the other exo who seemed to be overly cautious as the little blue bathed him in the blue light. Maylin let a soft chuckle escape his lips before his attention was brought to the screen as it began to play. He watched the video intently, taking it every detail and noting them all down.

A sinking feeling came over him as the video when on and he learned more and more from the video. When it ended, he turned to the two Exos and spoke. "So what your telling me, is that this race of omniscient beings, a race that...the god Athena and her lackeys supposedly killed off...but missed some, and now they have come back to fuck over the rest of us mortals because they couldn't have been bothered to be a we bit more thorough."

He sighed at climbed up on to the table, sitting on the edge with his armored legs hanging off. "Boo, do you have the data from the...portal?" The little purple triangular ghost appeared before him. "I do indeed, and yes, it does show similar readings to Vex portal gates but much, much more powerful and precise." The ghost then flew over to the golden Exo, the female one, and spoke. "I am the Guardian's ghost, similar to a sentient AI contained in a..well, I don't think I can actually explain the science behind my existence in simple words." Boo seemed to drift off a bit as he spoke, before stopping and returning his singular blue eye to the female exo. "If I may, do you perhaps have the data behind the construction of this station, as well as the portal system, as it seems the stations systems will not allow me to interface wirelesslly."

He turned tot he white haired man. "So, it seems we were stuck here until what I assume to be the next group returns...this place have any alcohol?"

En route to Shor's Stone

Brynn reluctantly put her gun away, as much as she wanted to kill the woman she figured the rest of her group would cause a scene if she did. Instead, when Hex handcuffed her and stood her up she hit her in the gut once. "Fuck letting the guards arrest her, if she doesn't cooperate she gets put on trial right here for crimes against the IMC, I'm sure Commander Blisk would love to sentence her." she said cleaning the blood off of her knife. "And I don't think he'd take as much pity on her as you have." A few of her Marines hopped out of the truck and formed up behind her to prove that she was serious. "So talk lass, patience wasn't one of my prevailing traits." she said wiping the last of the blood on the woman's clothes.

Spyglass
The Hub - Conference Room

The briefing played and all of the new arrivals watched without further issue, which was good - for them. The AEGIS soldier returned to the room to inquire about their progress. "Affirmative, they have been briefed and are now on stand by for the return of the expeditionary force." The small machine that arrived with the newest one began to speak about technology involving gates in their world, but they were far less precise than the ones that brought them here. It attempted to explain its creating but assumed no one would understand. "You are not the only one here that bears an understanding of complex AI." the Vice Admiral said simply, though the machine was floating around almost randomly. Its companion spoke up, and continued the trend of asking for alcohol. "This station posses a room that is being used a bar, it contains machines that can replicate food and drinks almost instantly. Many of the organics here have already used it to create alcoholic beverages of varying strengths and origins." he stated. Spyglass never understood the organic obsession with dulling the senses, it seemed counter-intuitive to survival to do it, especially as a leisure activity.

En Route to Shor's Stone

Hex didn't complain about Brynn punching the woman on the stomach. "I find it more fitting to let the guards here deal with her." Hex looked at the woman, the cold glass lens of the gas mask staring at the woman's eyes and possibly her soul. "If I placed her on a AEGIS trail and found guilty, which considering you threaten my people would be a very likely sentence, you would have suffer a fate far worse than death."

Hex wanted to make the woman be afraid on ever thinking on attacking the group again, as the display of brutality and murder of her comrades may not be enough encase she too succumbs to the dreaded plague known as stupidity. Hex took out a pistol and after turning off the safety she fired it in the air. "This is why I warned you and your friends. Me and Brynn here would have killed you all with zero efforts with our firearms. My friend here just felt like showing off and reliving her boredom."

The Hub- Conference Room

"Good, maybe now we don't need to tell the next newbies what is going on." Kauffman look at the new arrivals. "If you three meet anyone from your worlds you guys now can tell them what is going on. Right now me and my people are busy trying to gather more data on this place and making it our second home away from home." He said.

"If we're gonna stay in this place for however god damn long g we are stuck here looking for Aeterium for the Conduits and fighting against the Ascendants than we might as well turn the hub into a second base." Kauffman turn to Spyglass. "No doubt you were thinking of doing the same thing for your group."

Spyglass
The Hub - Conference Room

Spyglass turned his head back towards Kauffman. "The flotilla led by the IMS Rampart is more than suitable for a base of operations." it said flatly. "Even with the absence of a dedicated research division, my processes and subroutines are thoroughly analyzing every piece of data retrieved by unmanned AGP units." ARES Division would make the job easier, though General Marder and his group were busy on their own assignments. Marder would also likely be less keen to work with the other groups as Spyglass was, instead seeing them as interfering with his work. "A full IMC detachment is not planned, nor is claiming a subsection as a Forwardbase." As if on cue, a small Search Drone flew into the room and hovered around, taking in the newcomers as well as its surroundings.

"Trust me a good deal of the crew believe the Morgana is good enough but some want to get out of the ship for a while. Plus having a second base to work with would be useful once we can get the Conduits working again and we can call in backup." When Kauffman looked at the drone he thought of the ones that were being used to search through the areas of the hub without power.

"So you're gonna join in the search party as well huh?" Not surprised you and us would have the same idea."

"The AGP units have been exploring the Hub since the arrival of my first platform." Spyglass said. The drone in question buzzed around for a while before leaving again, going to scan elsewhere. "I am unable to get first hand scans of the living quarters as it seems that the room controls only respond to organic life and do not activate for artificial intelligence." The robot paused for a moment as it observed new data coming in before continuing. "Any plans to scan such areas must wait until the ground teams return and they open the door to allow the units inside to complete their task."

En Route to Winterhold

“Yeah, I was there when it happened.” Akari chuckled a little, recalling that scene of J.D. becoming a twin of Elizabeth. Akari return the favor to give J.D. a handshake and smiled. “I’m Akari. It’s nice to meet you J.D.”

Then the group began to discuss about the plans to not only find Winterhold College, but what to do there to order to obtain information of their key objective. Of course, they have to find the location of the college. “That can be handy girls, but I doubt the college will be all that hidden from the public. So I suggest we give some pointers for the driver for what turns we have to make on the road to arrive at Winterhold.” Akari said. She didn’t want the road trip to become off terrain since they can end up getting lost in this place, or crossing the wilderness to get to Winterhold College.

“I suppose that could work. Although I do have to wonder if the college requires a trial for us to prove we’re capable of using magic to enter the campus. Some magical schools in my world, like the private and prestigious ones, do make new students to undergo an entrance examine before being accepted into the school itself. I imagine most of us won’t have a problem passing that examine. ” Akari said.

I didn't remember Akari being there in that pub. Honest, I don't remember much of who was there. I had some other things to think about then who was watching me turn into an Elizabeth clone. Though now that she has shaken hands with me, I have a sample of her DNA on file, in case I want to use it in the future. Provided I get my microtech working again.

As Akari began to speak of having to pass some kind of magic proficiency exam to enter the campus of the college, I got a sinking feeling in my stomach. I've been able to get into every place I've tried to get into before. Simply find a mark, get his or her DNA, learn some things about the mark, and voila. You're good. That has worked every place I've ever wanted to go, if I was normally barred entry in my own skin. But this college was going to be a chore, if that's what was required. I can't do magic. Even if I look like a sorceress, I'm not, and they can probably tell. Great. I'll have to think on that.

"Uh, guys, if it comes to it, I'm pretty smooth on my feet talking to people and convincing them. I'm willing to talk if you want me to. Although, I'm also good at finding things, and I could handle that part of it too if someone distracts the dean of students or whatever his title is while someone else (like me) actually gets the part. So either way. Whatever you think I should do."

The Batter - Zone 3

The Batter wandered amongst the blinding white halls of Zone three, purified a long time ago. No longer were there the bustling, obedient Elsen to burn and attack. No longer were there the wretched Spectres to assault him. The Player, Truth, had guided his hand thus far, and would continue for ever so much longer. Of course, they could not talk. The Judge and Zacharie had stated as much, and The Batter had never heard anything beyond the wheezing of the residents of this place, and the dying screeches of the Spectres.

This Zone was pure. It was gone, and white, and blank. No more burnt, no more Spectres, no more towering Enoch. There were the Secretaries, yes, but they were barely anything against the bleached backdrop of this world. He came across the vault, the Safe Room. "1709', he'd read, scribbled over the walls. Truth guided his hand, and he stepped through the doorway. He remembered this place. It had been here the last time Truth had decided to act. But now, there was no lone, cowering Elsen. There was no Grand Finale to collect. Instead, he went through that door, into a bustling place of portals, empty frames, and strange geometries.

The Hub

There were people here. More of them. They looked like Elsen, they acted like Elsen, but they still seemed different somehow. Less hurried, less senile and neurotic, more... Active, almost, if one could say that. He stepped forward, the Add-Ons floating behind him, three enormous white Halos drifting through the air. They hummed softly, the only sound beyond The Batter's perfectly silent footfalls.

There was a man, with firearms. There were the others, with their weapons ready, as if coming from a conversation where they had been on the brink of violence. There was a convoy, bearing the insignia of some organisation - AEGIS, it said. Such novel items. Things the Zones had never let fall upon his unblinking eyes. This place was bright, but it was plagued. The Batter felt the moist feeling of malice in the air, the feeling that all things give off in tiny, imperceptible waves that only he could feel.

Purification in Progress...

The Batter took a step forward. The whole world seemed to flicker for a moment, flickering white and blank. Whispers laid at the edges of the mind, as he silently approached the group, HK, Athena, The Watchman, Kauffman, and announced himself.

"Who are you? Where is this place? I must complete my sacred mission. Where is the Guardian of this Zone?"

Mordred stood up with a bit of a grunt and began to walk with the Witcher. He had seen strange tech from Cathay before but it did not even come close to this stuff. The Blackdragon figured he might as well stick with someone who appeared to come from a similar time period to him. His heavy plate armor clinked as he left the room.

As they walked down the hall, Mordred spoke up "I too am no stranger to being trapped by fate. My mother cursed me with a destiny the day I was born, and the winds of time have been pulling me ever since. This is hardly the strangest development the Song of the Darkdragon has, or will have. But perhaps this may also bring us peace eh?"

Arriving in the bar, Mordred managed to make the machines create a venison stew and a mug of ale, which he sat down with and began to eat.
