To clarify on the smell situation, Arkton could perhaps smell Amonio, but then again, Amonio is a thread and darkness Companio, and one cannot exactly smell darkness.


Harb, what tech would the companios have been caable of before the Horde happened and most of their settlements scattered?

I am trying to decide what type of armore he will have ahd in the past for my next post.

The Companio have provided Numans with relatively modern conveniences from Telephones and roads to refrigeration and electricity. The knowledge and material for such production has been well known to them. Anything a companio came up with on their own would most likely be primative in comparison as these where built with instruction rather then scientific understanding of how they function-

A kind of 'it does what it does' / for example the Magnet - it does what it does and only a few in the common population bother to ask themselves why and learn of polarization and that most of what we have is theory rather then fact.

Well I was perhaps going to go with a sort of metal or leather armor, though it would feel a bit wrong doing the leather as that is a bit disconcerting knowing the amterial would have to have come from a Companio foe. It would be a good contrast with how he is now showing his once warlike past courtesy of the Horde.

Maybe Australia... while the main Gamma World setting seems to take place in North America.

Probably not... quite a few Gamma World RPs have been done with no consistent timeline, in the Earth Inherited the world seemed to be under the control of the Bonapartist Animal Empire (I TOLD YOU THEY'D TAKE OVER AND EAT US ALL), though that may have been an exaggeration, there was also the Hearthwood Community which seemed cut off from the rest of the world, CEEP Us Safe could have taken place any point after the Social Wars, the Early Years seemed to be set closest after the initial apocalypse. Its pretty interesting to think about how they could all be related...

I have a few ideas for some new Companios - like one which has the ability to greatly amplify or weaken any of the five senses of a target.

Had this other idea for a Cupid inspired Companio but wasn't sure how it could work then thought of a Companio that influences creatures to go berserk.

I jsut thought of one that the companio would be useless alone, but with others adn in the right situations can be mighty useful.

it itself is immune to changes of mind, meaniing no outside or inside influence could make it become irrationally angry or make it fall asleep without the right stimuli. The major thing would be that it can transfer this effect to others by touch. Could be insect based, and base the effect off of certain insect pheromones taht can do similar things.

An insect is an interesting choice- as they are vital so insect Companio must have been made for the sake of ecology. I do wonder what they are like. That's adorable that image.

I can at large see Fiber armor in use but- I have given though to nature's predator and prey relationship having a role of keeping populations in balance so as not to cause the ecology to be off set nor to allow the propagation of illness by way of crowded conditions- predation cuts back on infighting and serves many other roles beneficial to everyone other then the prey.

As such I'm thinking that all Companio are Omnivorous- thus making them very adaptable. Likely they've not been preying on one another at large due to population (a whole vast world remains undeveloped) but they are not incapable of it and some may do so. I can actually imagine a Widjt preying upon a Pippo- it's kind of adorable how the creature glows even after being swallowed-...

Though I don't see Companio making armor out of others. It's rather disrepectful to that which was once a thinking creature just like themselves. It'd be like- if Genghis Khan wore the face of his enemies and leather gloves and boots of human flesh.

Fiber/tree armor would probably be easiest, heck the japanese made paper armor that could stop swords and arrows in the medieval era. Might have the flexible fiber armor underneath, then massive fixed bark or metal pieces above that.

Are there Spider based companios? I ask as if so, the thread from such a being could be used for the Flexible fiber based under armor for arkton, we had been talking about before.
