Background: Some time ago I hosted an RP called Companio which was Digimon/Pokemon-esque with a horrific past but bright present. Companio focused on a group of young Numans (Humans) leaving their home (the settlement of Holm) for the vast world beyond for the purpose of repopulating the planet. To assist in their survival the Numans where bonded to a Companio; a genetically engineered protector companion. This RP takes place many years after this early era; at a time when the world has become more settled then it had in the past. At this point in the world's history the factions formed during the time of the former RP have evolved into territories. The factions are as follows;

Holidays: Spawn Day - A day to remember our emergence from the Cavern and celebrate the glorious leadership of our savior.

The Innumanoids are neither Numan nor Companio but a genetic mixture of the two created with the same method that bore the Numans (Numans where engineered from Humans). The Innumanoids are currently dictated by Spawn, the oldest of their kind at 29 years of age. In the former years (about 12 years ago) it was uncovered that the Innumands where perceived as a better alternative to Humans (the ancients) by a faction of survivors much like those who operated Holm. But those scientist failed to survive long enough to be parents to their creations who where placed in suspended animation. It was only 20 years ago that they emerged from the ruined lab at the base a deep cavern not knowing of their origin and only of this strange world. Spawn having been the first to awaken and the most developed of the Innumanoids took upon herself the responsibility of looking out for her younger siblings- even if this protection came off as a selfish at times. Her domain is a tad trashy but what can one expect from a bunch of kids who had no parents to teach them better? Before she was known as 'Her Highness' Spawn had lead the group into a lot of prankish and punkish activities towards the Numans which she put forth as a game. Most believe that she's just jealous that the Numans had a father.

When it comes to Companio the Innumands have no need for them as the Numans do but some friendships have emerged between the two.

Territory: The Alliance
Key Figures: No one is Notable in the Alliance (Hey Spawn stop editing this!)

The Numans came from Holm, a sanctuary of peaceful learning and bonding with Companio under the ancient and saged guidance of The Professor's ghost like hologram. The Professor gave life to each of the original 200 Numans and their genetically bonded Companio; but first and formost to the Companio who set out before the Numans to build settlement structures for their habitation and ensure the world safe for them. Since the last exodus 11 years ago Holm has been shut off from the rest of the world and the Numans have, out of convenience and partial necessity, joined in an alliance with a council government that tends to bicker more then get anything done. But on a municiple level townships and private citizens have accomplished a lot; especially with the aid of their Companio. The only real threat the Alliance faces other then rogue Companio is the occasional theft or prank by Innumanoids who find some pleasure in causing mischief about the Alliance.

Wild Cards
Wild Companio
Wild Companio are the main wild life of the planet. They set out on a mission for the Numans but abandoned it at some point and now give no regard to the Numans. All animal life on the planet is a Companio.

Horde
The Horde was started by the first group of Numans to leave Holm and they have one mission- obtain as many Companios as possible and put them to work and battle. The Horde has tossed aside the bond between the two races and opted for a new one of 'master and slave'. They are opposed by both the Alliance and the Princesspality of Spawn as to the Horde Innumanoids are Companios and thus below Numans in all regards.

Personality: Twelve years ago Numans could discribe spawn as selfish, spoiled, spiteful, and prankish. While her early exploits still follow her in reputation most Innumanoids know her as being 'serious yet fun loving', 'confident and commanding'. Some have affectionately called her 'everyone's older sister'. Sure she'll get annoyed at you but she's always looking out for the Innumanoids.

Additional Details:
Spawn is the current leader of the Innumanoids. She was the first of her kind to awaken from stasis and the oldest when the others came to. Over her existence she's managed the group as a club, then as a 'wanna be' gang. She did for a time attempt to work with Numans but her desire to lead, coupled with Rage's destruction of a healing station, and Flower being abducted by the Horde caused her to distance herself and come to the bright idea of creating her own nation rather then becoming leader of an established community; thus the Princesspality of Spawn was established.
FORGOTTEN PAST
Spawn was created 9 years ago by 'The Doctor' as the prototype of a new species capable of Humanity yet physically adapt to the expected conditions of the surface. Unlike most of her kind she grew up naturally from infancy to her ninth year of age. She has no recollection of her life prior to being put into stasis when the facility was destroyed- save in faint nightmares being lead by the hand in a rushed hurry down a hall way but a shadow figure in a lab coat. -


Physical Abilities: Most Innumanoids can be identified with a specific kind of Companio or animal from which their genetic stock derived. Spawn was so named for the fact that no one can really place what her innuman half is. She has remarkable regenerative properties to the point of limb replacement, and is extremely flexible. It's been jested from time to time that her bones are made of rubber. As such they are unbreakable. She's even been known to stretch though not in a way she considers super and usually only in desperation.

Appearance: 145cm, coal black hair, green eyes, olive skin, well built
Personality: generally compassionate but also stubborn. He was once known for being a depressive at times but his time in the world has bettered him.

Additional Details: FitzConstantine was part of the exodus 12 years ago, the one just before the final exodus from Holm. Basil and Selim, his trusty steed, serveds as a scouts for the party as it made it's way down a road built long ago by Companio and the Numans who had left before. He was the first of the group to encounter Spawn and her close friends; Rage and Flower. The meeting was more of a highway robbery where the three desired Basil's food rations which had been provided before his departure from Holm. When the rest of the band arrived they found Basil and Selim still in bindings. The situation was made worse in that Basil had not packed his saddles fully so he could have some storage space for all the great things he planned to discover in the world outside Holm. The band decided to find the camp of these Innuman thieves and take the food back- and while they failed at getting the rations they did get a lot of other items. Basil and others would again encounter the three Innumans and others along their journeys- with Selim serving as Flower's get away ride when she was escaping the Horde. Basil has settled into the Alliance where he hosts a race involving Companio like Selim. He's the best known racers and a legend.

Appearance: She's kind of like this
IGNORE THE CAT
Personality: Flower is considered the kindest of the big three, and was twelve years ago known for being rather harmless easily scared and helpful- which only occasionally clashed with the Spawn's plans. Her main trait back then was a lack of confidence. She changed over the years to become a bit more assertive and confident. She's braver then she was back then but her compassion has remained unaltered.

Additional Details: Flower was the youngest of the big three- at times seen as Spawn's little pet due to how clingy Flower was to Spawn. While Flower primarily was used to get an idea of what's going on in Numan settlements (due to how easy it was to conceal her innuman features), or as bait for a trap of some kind; Flower is mostly known for having been captured by the Horde twelve years ago. She was never put into any work but remained in a cage for the entirety of the experience as she was being transported to an auction. It took a combined effort of the big three and a recent band of Numans from Holm to rescue her. After Rage broke her out of her cage it was Fritz's Companio Selim who provided the means of her speedy escape- though few note how she did turn around to help another. It is believed that this was the turning point in her personality as she was a lot more capable to the group after that event. The event however also lead to Spawn deciding to make a territory for her self and others. Since Flower was generally liked by the Numans it became her task to speak to them on Spawn's behalf- she has however proven to still be meek or to let her compassion rule which continues to cause friction between her and Spawn though Flower has never once actively objected to anything in Spawn's face. It's perhaps only due to face that flower continues to be known as the Envoy.

Physical Abilities: Flower's only notable attribute is night vision where he yes glow a calming greenish blue in color- something the others find adorable. If she has any other traits she's not exhibited them.


Social Conduct
In the world of Companio there are a few rules that are understood but never spoken- barriers that if passed often result in lose or difficulty of the 'social stigma' type.
  • Numans never fight Companio in hand to hand combat. The two species are bonded in such a way that these types of engagements are mentally scaring to both and generally avoided. The only exception where the original 200 Numans who lacked the genetic bonding- these 200 became the horde and their decedents continue to carry a lack of empathy towards these creatures known as Companio.
  • Innumanoids fight Companio hand to hand thus they are less civilized then Numans.
  • Companio have an innate joy in making Numans happy but such instincts are destroyed by abuse- which is why the Companio of the Horde are at large glum bitter and depressive.
  • Innumanoids breed with Innumanoids, Numans breed with Numans, and Companio breed with any other kind of Companio they please because Companio are subnuman and any one who 'breeds down' (Numan with an Innumanoid) is too animal to be considered Numan themselves.
  • Due to this Innumanoids who do have a Companio ally are looked on with suspicion in most cases and rumored to be 'breeding down' though this is often a false rumor when it arises and generally seen as an Innuman stereotype which it's self emerged from actual examples in the past.

TIMELINE
00 PD - The Great Devastation destroys the world that was, what The Great Devastation was is not recorded only it's result for which it is named- no life- none as far as the region knows. Before this event, which certain members of Humanity could see coming, two facilities where built- one called Holm, was built in a mountain crater atop an extinct volcano- the other whose name has long ago been lost was built in a cave sheltered fully from the devastation's effects by natural means. Their founders where men of equal intellect but differing views yet both where in agreement on phase one of repopulating the world, that phase called for Companio.

2 PD - The Companio where created in both centers by the use of the old world's animal DNA with some enhancing cells focused towards the mind so they could complete their purpose of replanting, cleaning up, and preparing the world for habitation by the New Humans (Numans for short) via the building of shelters and roads.

8 PD - The cavern facility, overseen by a man known simply as 'The Doctor', stoped producing Companio and deviates from the intended plan of repopulating the world with human clones by instead fusing the Human and Animal DNA that would have been used to make Companio and Numans to breed a new race- the Innumanoids. This deviation was discovered by the scientist at Holm, who took action resulting in the cavern facility being destroyed- yet for some reason their genetic stock remained intact- perhaps it was the mantra 'Life Must Continue' or perhaps an oversight. What transpired at the facility to result in it's destruction is unknown as it was done in secret and kept a secret for many years.

19 PD - The Original 200 Numans are released from Holm to settle a land still being transformed by the Companio- these Numans however find the world not quite as ready as they had been lead to believe and resort to equally hostile behavior to adapt.

20 PD - When the next band of Numans left Holm the original forcefully took their Companio, and kept this practice going and became The Horde. Holm continues to send out groups. Near the end of this year 'The Professor' became aware of the Horde and began to imprint Companio and Numans to one another during the cloning process- thus forming a pychic bond between the two in hopes of averting another disaster that was the 200 first.

23 PD - The last of the Holm facility scientist, it's founder known simply as 'The Professor' passes away at 101 years of age but leaves in his place a holographic imprint of his younger self to continue to oversee and mentor the Comapanio and Numan populations in Holm. This impression becomes the father figure most who speak of the Professor are familiar with and was truly the best the man could be.

47 PD - The Innumanoids awaken with no memory of their lives before that point but retaining the skills of survival and speech. They leave the facility and many scatter. A few find their way to Holm where the Professor's hologram governs and where welcomed as stray Companio where they bonded to a Numan at the Nursery and received a purpose, shelter, and hospitality. (explaining certain Innumanoid Companio characters in the first RP)

50 PD - The Original RP; Flower is captured. The Alliance and Princesspality are formed and develop over the following 12 years.

61 PD - The last exodus from Holm happens as the facility closes it's doors and goes dark- shutting down for the first time since it's activation during the Great Devastation.

62 PD - Companio: The Awakening

Yes- only the Companio are very animal. Like;

Numans are Humans (completely their name derives from New Humans; they where clones but are now expected to continue to populate the world via their own biological capacities)

Innumanoids are like Humans with some animal characteristics may it be some scaly skin patches, pawed feet, wings, or some other feature usually found in animals. They where genetically engineered Hybrids created by combining Human and Animal stock.

The Companio where created from Animal stock and given a degree of intellect so they could better serve as companions for the Numans. Your companio can be what ever you want it to be- some kind of Crab-Clam- it's yours! A Flying Seahorse that breaths fire- yours! An upright walking and talking wolf like creature that's white furred with a blue back and uses two massive claws- yours as the Companio are that smart.

Correct, certain Companio would fall under the latter category. The Companio did after all build most of the structures and roads used by the Numans.

Personality: Marcus is energetic – maybe a bit too energetic. His home town cannot contain his enthusiasm and optimism! Adventurous and quick-witted, he is not looking forward to anything more than going out into the world with his Companio, Kanilin – although Kanilin might need a little bit of a push to leave the comfort of his home...

Additional Details: Marcus barely remembers anything about the last Exodus, and his parents don't like to talk about it. It's better to talk about happier things, you know? He was only four at the time, and all he remembers was that it was long, rough, and extremely boring. Kanilin must have joined him late in the Exodus, as they've been together ever since they settled into a town. Marcus doesn't remembers this at all, but Kanilin is the spawn of his father's former Companio, who unfortunately did not live to see the conclusion of the last Exodus. Marcus and his family, however, don't dwell on the past; they live happily and contently in the present.

Companio: Kanilin

Sex: Male
Personality: Kanilin is a perfect foil to Marcus' limitless enthusiasm; he's meek, hesitant, and easily scared. Some strange characteristics for a Companio, no? He is also, however, completely loyal to the Numan who raised him, and is will protect him whenever necessary. Kanilin's cool and calm nature is sometimes necessary to bring Marcus back down to the earth, and sometimes, Marcus needs to encourage Kanilin so that he isn't sitting in the house all day.
Abilities:
Lightning-quick Agility: Kanilin has swift reflexes, can run incredibly fast, and leap very far and high distances.
Long Ears: Kanilin can flap his ears to hover into the air for a brief period of time.
Voice Mimicry: Kanilin can mimic human speach, although to very short extent.
Thunder Flash: Kanilin has the ability to charge up a brief pulse of electricity, which he can release from all around him in a bright flash, or fire as a weak electric shock.

Kanilin's cool and calm nature is sometimes necessary to bring Marcus back down to the earth, and sometimes, Marcus needs to encourage Kanilin so that he isn't sitting in the house all day.
Abilities:
Lightning-quick Agility: Kanilin has swift reflexes, can run incredibly fast, and leap very far and high distances.
Long Ears: Kanilin can flap his ears to hover into the air for a brief period of time.
Voice Mimicry: Kanilin can mimic human speach, although to very short extent.
Thunder Flash: Kanilin has the ability to charge up a brief pulse of electricity, which he can release from all around him in a bright flash, or fire as a weak electric shock.

Well- I'll say this. My first image was of Spawn reading this and her jaw dropping. For once someone in the Companio universe is *thinks of a fitting word* more antagonist worthy then her. Of course seeing how the Horde is opposed by the Innumanoids it only makes sense that they be of a worse nature.

I can see a confrontation between the flexible, stretchy, regenerative Spawn and these two as rather epic. I must ask though if you are willing to play this kind of role; it'll certainly make your character lacking of allies and limit your interaction with other player characters considerably.

In all honesty I am very afraid of Spawn. But I like epic battles and I hate Inhumanoids, plus Helvetica was indeed written to be an antagonist.

Personality: Flower is considered the kindest of the big three, and was twelve years ago known for being rather harmless easily scared and helpful- which only occasionally clashed with the Spawn's plans. Her main trait back then was a lack of confidence. She changed over the years to become a bit more assertive and confident. She's braver then she was back then but her compassion has remained unaltered.

Additional Details: Flower was the youngest of the big three- at times seen as Spawn's little pet due to how clingy Flower was to Spawn. While Flower primarily was used to get an idea of what's going on in Numan settlements (due to how easy it was to conceal her innuman features), or as bait for a trap of some kind; Flower is mostly known for having been captured by the Horde twelve years ago. She was never put into any work but remained in a cage for the entirety of the experience as she was being transported to an auction. It took a combined effort of the big three and a recent band of Numans from Holm to rescue her. Fritz's Companio Selim providing the means of her speedy escape- though few note how she did turn around to help another. It is believed that this was the turning point in her personality as she was a lot more capable to the group after that event. The event however also lead to Spawn deciding to make a territory for her self and others. Since Flower was generally liked by the Numans it became her task to speak to them on Spawn's behalf- she has however proven to still be meek or to let her compassion rule which continues to cause friction between her and Spawn though Flower has never once actively objected to anything in Spawn's face. It's perhaps only due to face that flower continues to be known as the Envoy.

Physical Abilities: Flower's only notable attribute is night vision where he yes glow a calming greenish blue in color- something the others find adorable. If she has any other traits she's not exhibited them.

Flower and Helvetica undoubtedly have met before. How long was Flower under the Horde's captivity?

Spawn the Monarch - has an unbreakable elastic body. Flower the Compassionate Envoy - has night vision... okay.

All this points to the Enforcer being the most powerful of the Inhumanoid trio... at least in terms of combat ability.

Yes- Rage is the muscle. Flower is at large rather useless in a fight, Spawn more strategic, and Rage- well- he wrecks things. I think I'll add that Rage was the one to bust her cage during the rescue. He was, mostly likely, the most fearsome thing the Horde has yet to see- though at the time he would have been a teenager so likely not as impressive as he is currently in his 20s. It's been stated in Spawns application that he once destroyed a healing station....

I'd say that Flower was perhaps in custody for any where from 5 days to at most three weeks- though as I don't know how far her captors where traveling It's hard to say; but 5 to 21 days seems a right estimate. We should discuss how Helvetica may have interacted with Flower and if she was around during the rescue, and if so- what role she played in countering the attempt.

Helvetica is a sadist. She would have toyed with Flower, mentally and physically. She would see her as weak and mostly useless but would recognize the value of 'taming' her under the Horde's control for the information she held about Inhumanoids, the Trio and the Alliance.

Needless to say, she and Flower would hold mutual contempt for each other - especially if we can assume Flower resisted being 'brained washed' and 'enslaved' by the righteous Horde.

This does explain Flower's change of character which to those who knew her seemed sudden. It's made even more alarming by the fact that Helvetica would have been 10 years old at the time, and Flower 13 years of age. In essence, ahhaha oh I can see Helvetica saying something along the lines of "You owe me" in association with how Flower's not the the coward nor as meek as she once was- in short the experience has made Flower stronger.
