Not necessarily. I didn't put in a full tank IC, but it does have an operational range of 900km with load. The mission is only 50km North of Alnus Base, including the trials, it would've done an equivalent of perhaps 100km's or so at the most? It'll have some left in the tank to do a short patrol. Well, if there's nothing ahead, I'll be reporting nothing on the return flight.

From how I understand it, you only have enough fuel for a two way trip, then your patrol flight would be you looking left and right then taking off since you've expended half of your fuel, then you'd have to expend the other half to get back to base, if you do a patrol you'd end up turning the main road of the base into your personal landing strip (If you didn't get the last part essentially it's a crash.)

Western Imperial Union wrote:That is a great idea. Can I have a description like how big of a village it would be, how long till the UN gets there etc?

It'll be a small, rural forest village. I'm basing it off of Coda from the anime, so a good estimate in terms of size would be around 600 people? As for how long, the UN would probably get there either when they make camp or the next day. Although how long that translates in terms of rl time is a bit more up in the air I'm afraid.

So I think when I did the math originally I made a bit of a screw up with the distances and vehicle speeds. So the convoy was supposed to cover at least 200km today, given they moved at about 50kmh for about 4 hours and arrive at Italica in two days, but we all know that didn't happen due to a series of delays, Ranger, Imps, and the Helo fiasco. Now they're looking like covering around another 30-50km before Fischer calls it quits and they setup camp for the night. Given the convoy gets moving a 0700hrs, or what is assumed to be daybreak, they will likely reach the village around 1200hrs and likely end up staying until at least 1400hrs or longer given any characters show up. By that point they will be back on the road, and likely heading towards Italica. As such it is expected they arrive on the outskirts of the city around maybe 1800hrs [as we're not going to be rushing Italica for plot purposes]. But they likely will not enter the city until the next day. I realize this is some funky math, but just go with it

Asturial wrote:

I dont think it was an imperial party entering coda just that wizard guy.

I doubted there'd by any Imps in Coda considering its small and out of the way [and probably the last place they'd find the UN]

Well, the Wolfsmund party definitely would have heard the racket we got up.

Considering they're using the main roads, and the time of their departing, they no doubt heard us raining hell on the Imperials.

Also using Wolfenium and Wolfmund in the same post is confusing as hell

Wolfenium wrote:Althea's approaching the Wolfsmund party, not Coda. I don't know how loud the gunfire would be at that distance, but if Althea could hear it, the Wolfsmund would probably hear it too, so I doubt either could.

Just to let you know, the Wolfmund are actually closer to Alnus than Coda

Oh great, an oversized rat just polluted the water supply. Typical.

Looks like we're without food for some... god only knows... two days?

Looks like the inbound IFV will have to share their water and food provisions then.

It'll be alright. The way and back (100km), plus the trials (50-100km), and the patrol (20km) at most still makes around a 220km flight. That's just a quarter of the maximum range used, assuming full load, and the Helicopter is pretty much empty.

Not a problem. Place an order from your local supplier of stuff. That'll be $20,000.

Entire recon element destroyed by unknown force, all contact lost. Enter the air forces, obtain aerial superiority.

In the end, there's a good reason why it was stopped. Ignorance is your enemy right now, I'd figure there'd be a healthy respect for the power of a small group of people who had just destroyed a small army. Rather, your prophet is attempting to go out of his way to antagonize them further, especially given the fact that the recon unit wasn't told about the 'don't touch the plants' rule. Nevermind that your sacred Taldani bearer is also in an unsecured Iveco right now, she's also going to be feeling the pain your apostle wishes to put out.

In all seriousness, I'm somewhat amused and annoyed at the same time with the premise of a character who thinks it is a good idea to fight a small force of a much larger threat by intimidation. Additionally, and I'd be mistaken perhaps in saying this right now, but isn't it generally a good idea to try and verbally reaffirm what you mean, rather than send an ominous purple mist that warrants a likely full-blown CBRN response? It's not like he'll be able to use that trick again.

Now it looks like the Convoy is going to be arriving at Coda much later than expected. Since now we have to deal with a "possible Chem attack" fiasco. This is going to become another cluster-fuck real quick.

When you said you were going to rot the food, I assumed we would open our MREs and find most of them rotted. Now have a physical sign it was happening.

Also, who's ready to scare the natives?

You know, your probably not wrong. Then again this is less of a peacekeeping operation and more of "Find out where our first offensive should be" by the look of how things are turning out. The whole Recon Operation idea started to fade after we ran into a a few hundred armed and angry Imperial. Heading down the "Korean War" path more than the shows "Mutal assistance" path

Yeah....in hindsight, that was a bad idea. I'll retcon that.

Oh no, I'm already in CBRN mindset right now, don't you go backing out!

I'm amused with the premise of first contact with Humanity in the SR, being made while in MOPP 4. Friendly green men, in weird suits. Something straight out of an X-Files, but SR-style.

"And in today's news, the entirety of Coda village appears to be abandoned in the wake of a Fire Dragon attack. While this may not seem all that strange, just wait until you hear a witness' testimony regarding just who exactly was there..."

'"So there were these people, right? But they weren't like the Imperial soldiers.... they carried these short black thunder taldani with them, and their eyes were big and black and shiny! I was so scared when one of them looked towards me, then he called over one of the others and they started shouting in these loud demonic noises at one another. I thought I was a goner, but then the Elder said they were alright and told us all to trust them. I turned the other way and haven't stopped running since. I think I even saw one take off its face!"'

"Thank you citizen, for your unfaltering testimony. Up next, we have claims of strange lights in the skies near Italica. What could it be? Dragons? Fairies? Gods and Goddesses taking a closer gander? The truth may surprise you according to what one Imperial veteran from the fighting at Alnus Hill claims. More on that after the break and a word from our sponsors!"

I'm open to some discussion on this actually if you'd like to throw over a TG. My default thought would be that while they are technically of a similar rank (he is of higher nobility, but her status as a knight gives her more influence in affairs of war), Cornelia's connection to the crown and her role as the acting commander of the Order would lead to her word holding more sway - even if the Landgrave technically doesn't need to stick to the letter. Cornelia would regardless take the Landgrave's opinion heavily into account and likely work closely with him as an allied partner since she doesn't know his soldiers and is aware that at the end of the day, they follow him instead of her. However, with the arrival of the Princess, both of them would ultimately be subservient to her (since, royalty and all that) although that wouldn't stop military commanders from doing their best to ignore her if they suspect she lacked the experience.

When you said you were going to rot the food, I assumed we would open our MREs and find most of them rotted. Now have a physical sign it was happening.

Also, who's ready to scare the natives?

I think I might have blown part of my knee today.

We have to do combatives, drivers ed, and a whole bunch of certs to enter serviceability status in my unit... this week we're doing combatives. I'm decent, but not amazing.
