Biography: Born into a life of nobility and leisure, Camelia was the fourth child of Duke Midgildr Flavina, and his only daughter which in turn allowed for certain privileges, but also placed certain expectations for marriage and political alliances on her shoulders. Her childhood mainly consisted of being tutored by the family scholars, getting drilled in etiquette, mingling with the other girls of the Castle, and being given whatever she desired whether merely by asking or demanding it of the courtiers. Her upbringing left her rather vain and selfish, but as a wealthy noble and daughter of a Duke, none would dare insult her for her vices.
Her relationship with her mother, a distant relative of the Emperor was much closer than that of her father, but that wasn't to say that relationship was bad either. Her mother adored her, showered her with praise, and granted any wish her daughter had, making Camelia rather haughty and expectant of others, believing they should almost quite literally be showering her with praise and compliments consistently.
Something quite unexpected was the death of her Father and siblings at Alnus hill, and in her grief she was easily swayed by her new Advisers and other nobles of the court, that the Empire had sent them to their deaths. It didn't take much to convince the girl, now a woman in bloom, that it would be in her best interest to Rebel against the Emperor. The idea of deposing the Emperor and becoming Empress herself held a great appeal to the new Duchess. Fueled and puppet'd by her Court, Camelia is now the figurehead of a Rebellion, and has been advised to establish ties with the invaders on Alnus hill. Associating with those who killed her family was a distasteful prospect, but she knew her aspirations and dreams of grandeur would never be achieved without strong allies. Meanwhile, she would nurse her grudge.
Since the demise of the majority of her family, Camelia has become more religious, seeking solace and peace for her beloved brothers and father. Worshippers of Hardy, Goddess of the Underworld have taken full advantage of the Duchess' grief, and established a powerful foothold in Camelia's domain, though she does nothing but funnel coin their way in return for services and blessings. She believes this will guarantee some sort of luxurious afterlife for her family. Despite the faith and conspiring nobles being the true power behind the Rebellion, Camelia is merely obsessed with the idea of becoming the next Empress of the Empire, and is delighted by the words of Hardy's worshippers promising her ascension to an apostle if she is devout enough and proves it through monetary or other means.
Personality: Often preferring pleasure and power instead of responsibility and duty, Camelia is known in her Duchy for being a woman who prefers hedonistic pursuits and grand parties to the responsibilities of running a duchy, often leaving those trivial matters to her advisers and council. She spends the coffers of the duchy on lavish and inconsequential items, and is often disdainful towards the peasants and common folk.Non-Required Information
