Oh, we're not wearing blue helmets by the way. We decided to drop thos ugly things. Not like the Natives even understand the difference between blue helmets an regular soldiers
So wait, do I RP being in the Type 89 and then rping getting out of it arriving at the staging point (in the same post maybe?) and wait there until I get my callsign and firing team?

Very muscled and fit build, slate grey skin except for excessive pink scarring across his back, pure white hair usually kept long or tied into three braids, fluorescent red irises on white eyes. Typically wears a large coat-like item that bunches up into several layers around his neck. Below this he has padded steel armor on his legs and fore arms and red tattoos on his chest and stomach in tribal markings resembling claws. Large amounts of body jewelry, many earrings, rings, and a nose ring.
Biography: Kurak was taught from a young age to fight, to protect the small village that his people called their own. As the only son of his tribe's chief Kurak was destined to sit at the tribal council as well as make decisions for his tribe's village. Only warriors led the Sarkon tribe only the best of the village had the right to lead other warriors in defense of Sarkon's lands.
Kurak, was originally dissatisfied by this life. His mother's family line was that of sailors and shipwrights and that was what Kurak had wanted. but his mother was from an allied village, not Sarkon, which had only a series of rivers for access to the sea through another village. Though, around the time Kurak reached the age of an adolescent his father took him to show why a warrior was needed.
Sarkon rested on the Empire's border. It's lands marked the place where the lands of the Village councils ran into that of the Empire. Unlike Sarkon, however, which only made war for defense, the Empire was a nation of conquerors. Kurak witnessed his first battle at the age of thirteen. His father led Sarkon warriors as a vanguard for the Ashka force which soundly defeated a sizable imperial army. That day would change Kurak, he learned at once that his training and skills were not for ceremony or the pleasure of power, but a solemn duty for his people.
Kurak threw himself into his studies of tactics and history, as well as his martial training. By his 20th year had replaced his father as war leader for the Sarkon war party. Standing by his father on the council became one of his proudest achievements but sadly it lasted only a year.
Shortly after Kurak's twenty-first name day, The Empire once again launched an incursion into his lands. Outnumbered nearly a hundred to one, Kurak and his father led the defense of the Valley mouth that led to Sarkon. Kurak's forces held for as long as they could, but their prowess in combat was useless against the numbers and strategy of the Empire. Kurak was severely wounded and his war band slaughtered, but the worst was yet to come.
Laying siege to the walls of the village there was little more than wooden gates keeping the Empire at bay. With not only the majority of the Sarkon warriors killed in the valley, but most of the Ashka villages war bands decimated and in retreat Sarkon was alone with only a handful of defenders.
Forced to surrender in the hopes of saving their people from slaughter Kurak's father allowed the Empire into the village. What happened next enrages Kurak to this day. Under guise of accepting the leader's surrender Kurak's mother and father were executed, along with almost every man in the village. Those that weren't killed were made into examples for the now enslaved women and children. Among them, Kurak was flogged until the flesh on his back hung by tendrils of tissue and blood streamed freely from his back.
Left to rot, Kurak and three other warriors were the only ones to survive the ordeal, and within a month only Kurak had not succumbed to infection in the wounds. Surviving alone,by scrounging goods from the demolished village Kurak slowly regained his strength. Nearly four months later he venture out to the neighboring village of Kallis, finding the same devastation as his home. Every Ashka village had suffered the same fate. Some of the farthest villages had been wise enough to evacuate, leaving only the old and infirm behind to die on their own.
On the rare occasion Kurak found one of his own people, it was more of a deadly fight for survival than a warm reunion. Eventually finding his way to his mother's home, Kurak took up a job with a ship, that had escaped the invasion and returned for survivors. For five years Kurak sailed the seas as a pirate, and occasional trader, making a small enough fortune to purchase his own crew and vessel.
For another two years, Kurak raided Imperial ships and towns along the coast. His crew like him were either Ashke, or other peoples set adrift in the world by the Empire. All too happy to raid the Empire for goods and thrill. That could never have lasted forever. They were soon, hunted down and scattered like the wind. Forcing Kurak back onto dry land with not a penny to his name.
The weary refugee began to wander, unsure what to do with his life with no future. He helped villages for coin, odd jobs usually those including swinging a sword. Having largely given up his bandit ways Kurak still preys upon Imperial caravans and travelers, letting others pass.
Kurak's life, has sadly fallen into a state of depression one that seems to be crushing his soul.
Personality: Hot tempered in things regarding the empire, or his people, but otherwise a very friendly and jovial person. Perhaps his forced humor is used to hide true sadness in his life.Non-Required Information

Ashka
The Ashka were a nation of 21 tribes, each of which was descended from a son of the Great Chieftain Arkon. Arkon, led his clan to Falmart from far across the ocean, where presumably other Ashka reside. The 21 sons of Arkon established each of the tribes, and eventually the villages that made up the Ashka Confederacy. For nearly 200 years the Confederacy largely remained unscathed, though occasionally fighting with neighbors. Each village and tribe was represented by a Council member the descendant of the founder of the tribe.
With the Battle of the Valley and the subsequent conquest of the Ashka villages the Ashka were scattered and all of their leaders but Kurak was killed. Now Kurak has all but forgotten his duty and patch as a leader of the people.Operation Forward until Dawn: UN Personnel File

Tamak fought in the Battle of the Valley, when his Chieftain fell he carried him home to Evrak Village, only to watch him die. When the Empire came to Evrak, Tamak was able to evacuate most of the civilians and board them on ships, many of those that fled remain free today thanks to his efforts.
Tamak met Kurak three years after the Empire destroyed the Ashka. After coming to the realization that Kurak was the last of the tribal leaders among the surviving Ashka, he swore his life to Kurak. Having follwoed ever since Tamak has been Kurak's muscle for over a decade.

The family attempted to flee but were captured by imperial patrols and sold into the slave markets, being split from their parents the young girls were bought by a particularly ruthless master who seemed to believe all Ashka were great warriors. Hmm, the original character was accepted iirc. As for the two subordinates you added, they're not as fleshed out in the backstory department, but that can be fixed IC wise. If your up for the challenge, than I'll allow you. But I'm expecting to see you use all of them equally[or at least have them have some emphasis in Kurak's story besides chat and fight bots]

Being trigger happy for combat is one thing, setting up a firing position overlooking the North Company is another. If he wants to be a trigger happy bastard its fine, so long as he stays with the Section, and doesn't start taking pot shots.

It's not as if Earth had any incredibly similar nation states that were also responsible for the butchering, enslaving, conquering, social stratification and incredibly inwards looking policy that was completely justified according to the political and social standards of our time? And yet said society is hailed for some of the greatest achievements in art, literature, law, tactics, architecture, infrastructure, and organization, and many of the institutions that modern society builds itself upon are based on the versions created by them?

The difference is the Romans, and this empire are powerful due in part to their conquests and use of slavery. The UN's supposed moral code and superiority in practically every way, technology, available manpower, resource access, funding etc, without the need for conquest or slavery to sustain itself gives the UN forces a basic moral high ground in comparison to the Empire and will always allow it to have native allies as long as it manipulates these advantages. Most higher ups will push hard the fact the Empire enslaves people, including people from earth, and exists primarily through killing and conquering neighbors. For the basic rank and file that would be moral reason enough for conflict especially being as they would compare it to their lives which condemn slavery as evil, and conquest for another people's wealth as a crime on the global stage.

Might was right for pretty much all of human history up until the creation of said UN. The Empire is literally just fantasy Rome. Rome enslaved people, Rome conquered to conquer (and fell apart when it stopped). The Empire, however, provides boons to the conquered, which is something very few states have done in Earth's history.

What boons are the Empire providing for those they conquer?
