In 2014 she ran for the House of Representatives for the Illinois 7th district, and won a close race for the Democratic primary, and then the general election by a landslide. In 2016, she supported Walton for president but remained a member of the Democratic Party.
Other Info: She leans very progressive in most aspects, but is a strong proponent of the death penalty.
