No. Besides, all the sea routes of the area are within sigh distance of land. You would be able to sail to India no problem. You wouldn't be blown off course 10,000 kilometers. And even if you were, you wouldn't have enough food/water to survive as the amount you would put in to your ship would only be enough for an India trip.

The Mayas have already been exposed to the diseases, garnered immunity, and have been replenishing their population. They would not die to diseases, or at least, nearly as much.

Second, hand cannons aren't really effective. They never really were. Guns helped a lot with accuracy.

Thirdly, due to them trading with Japan, they have access to gunpowder.

You can fire one shot, that will almost definitely miss, and even if it hits, it probably won't kill like modern guns. We can fire dozens of arrows by the time you can reload your hand cannon. Even when the Spanish conquered the Aztecs, their more modern guns were so useless and laughed at by the Natives that almost all the fighting was done with swords. The reason the Spanish won was because diseases. Now, you may have some diseases, but it won't be anywhere near as effective as smallpox. Besides, guess who has smallpox and the black plague? You if you come over. Not to mention the better familiarity with the terrain and the massive difficulty of transferring a good amount of troops over to the Americas. Besides, while I admit we don't have a large navy, our ships are as updated as the Japanese, not to mention the pirates. Have fun with Yellow Fever too.

Well, time to start working on a long-ass ic post. Gotta detail the journeys of all five of the exploration groups I sent into North America. I would do the five going into South America but I wanna wait to see if the South America guy changes his app and gets accepted.

I know about their access to Gunpowder, but I'm more focused on a naval aspect. Secondly I will still spread some diseases. Though admittedly not a lot. Guns will be a big thing, which we will have. Though I'm not trying to conquer the Maya, I just want the Carribian.

I know, and I'm not talking about Small Pox, I'm referring to other diseases. We're also dealing with those diseases, and technically you will probably have a few more outbreaks like Europe probably, though nothing completely detrimental. I know what I want, and unfortunately this is the only way to acquire it. (How you acquired to the Carribian and held onto it still shocks me however.)
