Sound Manipulation

He can essentially "see" sound and manipulate it accordingly. When he wants to use it with more precision, he uses headphones to help him, with the sound of what he sees being more direct by the balance of the music playing as a spectrum, since normally, it's more unfocused (both his control and perception). However, when Mitsuyo snaps his fingers, the snap creates a pitch frequency that travels in circular soundwaves in which Mitsuyo can see and travel through, allowing him to move at the speed of sound within its area of effect, as far as it can be heard. Accordingly, he could be said to move at that speed by using sound as a medium in which to move his body. Every time he gets to end of the soundwave he must snaps again to utilize his ability. He can also produce sonic punches and kicks at that speed, which are enhanced by sound (otherise they'd be a bit mediocre, considering that he's not exactly strong by anyone's standards). Whilst not immune to the air friction and the strain it puts on his body through his attacks, he is to a certain degree (compared to the average person) insulated/resistant to it. His clothes aren't necessarily, mind you, and he can still miscalculate and end up flying into stuff. Especially when his ability is less focused, without headphones and music (given the fact that he often doesn't have headphones on, particularly when important occurances go down, that is a common issue). Overusing it can cause exhaustion, headaches and internal damage among other issues. As such, his ability can take its toll on his senses, body and nervous system. Just as he can travel within sound waves, he can clap his hands or stomp the ground/wall/whatever to create a sonic shockwave, though it requires a bit of effort. You may also regret making him scream.

A side effect is that his sense of hearing is greatly increased, perhaps overly so, making particularly loud noises something that overwhelms his senses, whilst areas in which sound is nullified, essentially cancel out his ability. Sound also requires a medium to travel through, such as air, ground or water, though it can be virtually anything. His voice can be used for sonic attacks, and certain vibrations can be used to make objects shatter at particular frequencies. When moving at the speed of sound, he can create afterimages of himself.

To its greatest extent, he can use the ability to transform his physical body into sound. In effect, the user can act as a living sonic boom; by simply moving at a fast-enough speed, they can disorient opponents, shatter windows and more. This form generally appear indistinct and without shape, though he could potentially alter the frequencies and vibrations so that he can be visible in this state, also theoretically using it to shapeshift using sound. He has only done this transformation twice before, and it is extremely exhausting and difficult to control. Also, as mentioned earlier, a soundproof room would trap him (a room/trap made of a highly sound absorbent or reflective material would unsurprisingly cause problems). Transforming into pure sound only applies to his body, too, not his clothes, which are more than likely to disintegrate during transformation. Since sound comes in the form of waves, a signal that disrupts the frequencies of said waves would weaken his power and essentially mess with his hearing, and in the case of him being transformed, it would destabilise his form, making him loose control of the direction in which he moves, before forcing him to transform back, at the very least disoriented and stunned, if not unconscious.

In certain environments, he can use echoes to empower himself. Nonetheless, in that echo-enhanced state, the earlier mentioned resistance to the strain on his body is rendered completely void. If he plays an instrument, he can amplify the sound it makes, as well as alter the frequency and pitch, and associated elements. On a minor note, he can also change how his voice sounds. Without the freedom to use his voice, hands or feet, he can't use any active applications of his ability (instead only having passive elements, like the hearing/perception). He is also physically weak, and may overrely on his ability to avoid getting hit/overpowered.

Personality: Personality-wise, he's a bit narcissistic and naive, and somewhat tsundere. Behind his outward, mischievous-tinged cheery confidence, however, lies a certain degree of insecurity, and his usual demeanour can bely his real thoughts. Not too surprising, really. Given the fame of his idol group, that narcissism has inevitably developed with it. Perhaps a bit obsessed with certain elements of Japanese pop-culture (and certain sub-cultures, for that matter, be they the sort found in Harajuku or Akihabara). Because reasons stated below, he crossdresses, and also because reasons, he doesn't want people to realise that he's actually male. Obviously more to his personality than this, so I'll probably add more. Is extremely ticklish! Don't go overboard or he might faint. Overly fond of sweets, to the extent that he can easily be bargained with via them. Has a fear of insects/creepy crawlies.
Biography:

Born to a fairly affluent family in Japan, his father, Shōhei, was a software developer for Fujitsu Ltd, whilst his mother, Ryōko Fujiwara was an author and the heiress to an old hot spring hotel in Hayakawa, Yamanashi Prefecture, named Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan. His older sister, Sayaka, was a famous actress, model and singer, and he often looked up to her. From an early age, his interest in music was apparent, though he also liked games, books and cute things (be it clothes, animals or other things). At school, Mitsuyo was often remarked upon for his feminine appearance, and often teased. He sometimes made futile attempts to seem a bit more masculine, though they usually ended up backfiring. Sayaka, on there other hand, promoted his more feminine side, perhaps inadvertently at first. His father was often busy with work, and rarely had time for family affairs. Perhaps his distance was intentional, though Mitsuyo never knew. Whilst he had some friends, he had an overly sensitive nervous system, and being more prone to catching illnesses meant he spent more time at home. He often spent time watching idols on TV alongside playing games, and sometimes imitated his older sister. Combined with the manner in which he admired her, this led to a certain path. At some point, he made it clear that he wanted to be an idol. In turn, Sayaka, initially amused, aided him in that endeavour. He soon revealed himself to have a natural talent for singing.

So it was that she had him crossdress and act as a girl, before signing him on to her talent agency, Amuse Inc, showing them Mitsuyo's potential. They realised fairly quickly that "she" had potential. Of course, there were a few in the company that knew he was male, in particular those who had access to his personal information, or who had had helped his older sister in the past. Of course, that number grew on occasion, especially when mishaps in the changing rooms, or photoshoots happened. After a period of training, he joined an idol group, Nanatsuboshi (七つ星) when he was 8, and began acting as a child Seiyuu several months later, for several anime and games. He later joined another, Kawaii Revolution (可愛いレボリューション) at the age of 12. Before long, "Mitsu-chan," as he was called endearingly, became a rising star, along with the other idols. The group experimented with a number of different musical genres and styles, seeking to create a blend that would attract various demographics and create a wide audience base whilst being quirky enough to stand out, blending J-pop with a variety of other styles, such as metal, rock, orchestra and folk in a manner that was intended to be both accessible, unique and technically talented. Of course, not necessarily being adept in these musical instruments themselves, anonymous musicians were hired to do the music both in studio and on stage behind them.

When he was 13, with the group's popularity rapidly growing, he was invited with the other members of the group by a Japanese TV show host. There, they talked of their upcoming album, and what their wishes as idols were. They also performed live on stage after the discussion, a performance that gave the show record views, whilst the live audience filled up the seats provided at the studio. Little did Mitsuyo know that shortly after the show had ended, things would take a turn for the worse.

From time to time in the past he had encountered overly zealous fans, some of which could be classified as stalkers. As a celebrity, and a member of an increasingly popular idol group, this was unsurprising, and had so far been harmless, if not sometimes a bit creepy. Things would, however soon become much more serious. With the earlier show wrapped up, the other members of Kawaii Revolution went their various ways that night, most returning to their homes and friends. Mitsuyo himself, along with another member of the idol group, Haruna Ninomiya, took a taxi hired for them by the group's producer. Bogged down by increasing traffic, the taxi was soon stuck within minutes of the journey beginning. It soon became apparent that the unusual traffic was at least in part caused by a car crash at a major junction some distance ahead. Thinking that they'd be there into the early hours of the morning, Mitsuyo and Haruna left together, and decided to walk instead, at least until they found a train or bus to get to their respective destinations.

Whilst usually the night time streets were reasonably quiet, that night they were bustling with crowds, and Mituyo was soon separated from Haruna when an impatient businessman pushed past them. Initially not worrying too much, Mitsuyo continued on. He became worried when he realised he was being tailed by several people, though they maintained their distance and wore clothing that made it difficult to identify them. Noticing that they had began to pick up their pace, he turned a corner and moved down a side street, intending to shake off his pursuers. He veered off suddenly down another path, only to bump straight into two of them, who had by this point covered their faces with balaclava masks. Mitsuyo remembers little of what happened immediately succeeding that, other than a vague blur, being pushed down, brief pain and the loss of consciousness.

Needless to say, the following sequence of events was by no means pleasant, and it can indeed be said that terrible things happened. Being kidnapped by a group of individuals possessing dubious sanity and unknown intentions was never going to end up well. Especially when they learned he was actually male, which may not have been taken very well by some. His disappearance soon became known, and rumours spread rapidly, though at first no official statement was made. The circumstances surrounding what took place, especially on one Friday several weeks later, remain a mystery to most. It was that day that was most significant, for it was at this point that his power awakened in earnest. Though, like the particular details of his kidnapping, he only marginally recalls it. A dim memory of a thunderous, piercing noise, blood, shattered glass, and ruptured bodies. Immediately following this he entered something akin to a vegetative state.


Within several days he was found, during a police raid of a supposedly abandoned storage building. Needless to say, most of the policemen involved in that raid quit the force not longer after, and the few that remained refused to speak of it, though a report was made, and subsequently ordered by those in the know further up to be given to a certain organisation with close ties to the government.

{came back to cognisance in a hospital that was actually a front for a place that investigated suspected and known extraordinaries. At the time, he was suspected. Probably because of the rather suspicious circumstances in which he was found, amidst bodies that appeared to have suffered severe internal rupturing, having from the bled eyes, ears and mouth. That said, he was still merely a suspect, and had as someone a bit more famous than the average person, unnecessary questions had a higher chance of being raised. stuff happened, stayed in public as an idol/perhaps registered for "check-ups" investigations/experiments by that shady organisation- possibly drugged to forget each time, every so often whilst officially carrying on being an idol. ended up rescued by an extraordinary group, though having avoided having to change identity/go into hiding .either way got out of this situation and more recently came to EHEG because reasons.)

Afterwards, whilst continuing on in the industry despite the concerns of his fellow idols and the reservations of his family after the mysterious disappearance, he donned a façade of cheerfulness and optimistic perseverance in his efforts to be a successful idol. Regardless, he became more cynical, shy, withdrawn, fearful and paranoid behind his outer persona, and developed an obsession with hiding his true gender. Whilst that event may have shaped him for the worse, it also gave him the determination to try and make the world a better place, so that others would not endure such things. At the same time, he sometimes alternates to thinking that he deserved it. Whilst outwardly fairly confident in appearance as an idol, he developed something of an inferiority complex. He's a bit narcissistic and naive, and somewhat tsundere. Behind his outward, mischievous-tinged cheery confidence, however, as mentioned, lies a certain degree of insecurity, and his usual demeanour belies his real thoughts.

Three years have passed, and since then Kawaii Revolution has skyrocketed into greater fame still, with an anime and manga based off them being released, and thousands flocking to events and concerts, the mysterious marr on Mitsuyo's past forgotten by nearly all, deliberately suppressed and downplayed at the time as it was.
